Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@ForeverHopeful17 sounds like a good number of follicles. Hopefully your right ovary moves and they can reach it.

@beachbum85 amazing that you have 8 fertilise! Fingers crossed they get to day 5!

Had my 2nd stims scan this morning and the nurse just called to say I am triggering tonight for egg collection Friday morning.
I thought maybe I would have another day of stims as I feel like they need a little bit longer. I have 3 x 18-19mm, 5 x 13-14mm, 5 x 11-12mm, 5 x 8-10mm, 1 less than 8mm. We will have to see, I know it only takes one but I thought I would have more considering my AMH is 44. I have only been on 150 menopur for 7 days though.

Crazydoglady123 · 24/03/2021 14:07

Crikey @Narwhal88 you've certainly responded well!

Narwhal88 · 24/03/2021 14:09

@Crazydoglady123 yeah though I just really want some of the smaller ones to catch up!

Crazydoglady123 · 24/03/2021 14:14

@Narwhal88 hopefully they'll surprise you and catch up 🙂 Do you feel uncomfortable with that many follicles? My 6 on the Clomid makes my ovaries tender 🙄

Bethpalmer20 · 24/03/2021 14:34

@beachbum85 amazing news! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for good growth and getting to day 5!

@Narwhal88 what a good response you have had! I don't doubt the rest will catch up! I am only on day 4 of 75 menopur and my ovaries already feel a little tender!

Tarsette · 24/03/2021 14:59

@Donimo The Menopur didn’t give me more follicles but it sped up their growth, which had been pretty slow up until then. I also have a daughter, 3 year old, and she keeps asking me if my tummy is ok now, as I had told her after my last transfer that she couldn’t bounce around on me as she usually does!

@ForeverHopeful17 I also stunned way past my initial egg collection date. It sucks but it at least gives the smaller eggs more time to catch up!

@beachbum85 Great fertilisation rate! I hope they hang in there until day 5!

Narwhal88 · 24/03/2021 15:01

@Bethpalmer20 @Crazydoglady123 thanks, hopefully they will. My ovaries definitely feel tender and big and getting twinges, I can't wear my jeans, swapped into my comfy pj bottoms a little while ago!
I think you will have a great response @Crazydoglady123 considering how much you responded to the clomid.

Crazydoglady123 · 24/03/2021 15:52

@Narwhal88 I can imagine! You'll be glad for egg collection on Friday! Did they say why you've been feeling sick?
I'm just having to trust my consultant and pray I respond the right amount and not over stimulate. My first stims scan is 5 days after I start them

TTCbabyH · 24/03/2021 15:54

Hi all, had my transfer today! Eeek! I was really surprised about how quickly they get you to stand up/go for a wee after! Is that usual protocol? I was so worried it would fall out!

Narwhal88 · 24/03/2021 17:49

@Crazydoglady123 she said I could just be sensitive to the hormones, no sign of OHSS. Just remember to drink loads during stims as that helps prevent it.

@TTCbabyH yay for transfer! Yeah I've heard that is pretty standard, there's no chance of it falling out once they pop it in though I imagine I will feel the same. You want to keep your legs in the air for at least half hour 😂

Ganiyatou · 24/03/2021 17:56

@TTCbabyH yes it usually like that. I have my transfer today as well and the team was so kind and after the transfer they allow me to ask questions and take pictures.
But now i have a lot off gas and it smells bad (sorry) I don’t know if is normal? Also look like something moving inside. ( probably in my head) The 2ww waiting will be like forever .

TTCbabyH · 24/03/2021 18:10

@Narwhal88 honestly I was shocked when she was like "all done up you get!" Was terrified!!

@Ganiyatou ah amazing glad it went well! I never even thought to take any photos!! Wish I had that's such a good idea! I've felt fine so far, bit crampy. However my cyclogest gives me a bit of a dodgy tummy so hard to tell! I'm sure it's normal x

beachbum85 · 24/03/2021 18:18

Congrats on your transfers @TTCbabyH and @Ganiyatou - amazing news!! :)
I would have thought they'd make you lie down for a bit too hehe

Thanks @Narwhal88 @Tarsette and @Bethpalmer20 :) I'm keeping everything crossed that we get to Day 5 with a couple of good quality blasts!!

So many nicely-sized follicles in a short stim time @Narwhal88! With such good response to the stims it really sounds like you'll have some of the smaller ones in good shape by Fri! And very glad that there's no sign of OHSS. Good luck with the trigger and the EC :)

AnitaB83 · 24/03/2021 19:20

Hi! thanks for asking:)

and also glad to hear good news about ET and scans:)

My first scan today was not as we were expecting.

I only have two small follicles in the left ovary and around 10 (small size ) in the right ovary. Today was my CD 7/ 6th day of stims so they have increased my menopur dose from 225 IU to 375 and I have another scan on Friday so hopeful we will see if the menopur increase has worked :(

PurpleUnicorn01 · 24/03/2021 19:45

Yay! So excited for both of you!!!!Smile

Crazydoglady123 · 24/03/2021 20:39

@Narwhal88 that's good no signs of OHSS and the water is noted, thank you

Fingers crossed for you @AnitaB83 🤞

Itstime1 · 24/03/2021 20:39

Sorry dipped out abit due to life being busy and a bit of shock news on Monday at my scan. So excited for everyone on their journeys!

@TTCbabyH @Ganiyatou congratulations to both of you on your transfers that's so exciting!

We had our final scan today and EC booked for Friday now. 13 days of Stims later. They have decided to just carry on the process rather than cancel as we have 3 ok size follicles (the rest refuse to grow... 31 in total but they just won't budge in size and are stuck at 10mm). Already talked it all through with the nurses and that and we are pretty sure the medication just isn't right for me this round but the process is a learning curve.

Trigger shot tonight and then waiting game till Friday! Those who have had their EC already, how was the sedation? Do they weigh you and how did you feel afterwards? Starting to get a little bit nervous for it (as we have the chance of 0-3 eggs which isn't a lot) but also trying to stay positive!

KB2209 · 24/03/2021 21:27

@Itstime1

I have done three ECs and ETs under sedation with NHS. They didn't weigh me, but they do have weight and other basic info from earlier in the process. You do t feel a thing...I was nervous the first time around, but they talk you through everything. You just feel like you went to sleep, you don't feel a thing.

When they bring you back, you might feel a bit sore in the tummy and realllyyyy sleepy.... mainly because they want to get you moving and off the bed really quickly, but it's a really comfortable process.

KB2209 · 24/03/2021 21:35

@Donimo thanks 🙂. Just waiting for mother nature to pay her usual visit to start. Not long now...I have never used tamoxifen, not sure about the side effects... hopefully it's manageable with a full time job

@TTCbabyH @Ganiyatou @Beachbum85 good luck to you all with next steps...fingers crossed for you

Lol about embryos falling down after transfer...My first time the doc told me not to worry as well, as they can't slip through once they have been put on the womb lining. they want you to move about asap and go for a wee, that's one way for them to minimise chances of infection after the transfer.

KB2209 · 24/03/2021 21:48

@Anitab83 hang in there, in my last cycle...during the scans the nurses noted 6-8 follicles, they got 13 during collection. Sometimes they might not see them all did to position or size or just nurse's mood sometimes ;).

And my very wise accupuncturist says...you only need one good one.

beachbum85 · 24/03/2021 22:56

@AnitaB83 I know it's hard but try to stay hopeful! On my Day 9 scan I only had tiny follicles on my left ovary and they got 3 mature ones at EC. There's still time and I hope the change in meds works for you :)

@Itstime1 sorry to hear that you have so many follicles and they're not responding - that must be extremely frustrating! But if you're going ahead it looks like the doctors have faith in those 3! Keeping my fingers crossed for you x
As @KB2209 said, EC is a really comfortable process. I had general anaesthetic before and was worried about the pain in my hand from the canula and feeling extremely cold afterwards (as that's what had happened) but I had none of that. You just feel sleepy and in a couple of minutes you're out. I barely had any belly pain at all waking up and afterwards, but I was also really sleepy for a while and in a daze, and my eyes were burning/watery too. Already told my partner that I hope we don't need to do it again, but if we do I'd actually be looking forward to the sedation :)

Thanks for the good luck wishes @KB2209 x

@beachbum85 just reading your last message and this has helped me as EC is this morning arghhhh!!!!

Crazydoglady123 · 25/03/2021 07:29

Good luck @6543336787gesgvjhg

ForeverHopeful17 · 25/03/2021 08:46

Thank you @beachbum85 I'm really hoping all the small ones catch up as I'm solely relying on my left ovary. It's such a shame that my right one isn't accessible.

Thank you @Narwhal88 how are you feeling about collection tomorrow? You've got a fantastic number of follicles and I'm sure the smaller ones would have caught up by tomorrow.

I agree @Tarsette although I'm bummed about the additional injections I appreciate the fact that more injections could potentially give me more eggs, especially as I'm solely relying on one ovary.

Congratulations on your transfer @TTCbabyH I actually watched a live on Instagram held by zita west and a doctor at care and he actually said it's much better to get up straight away after transfer. I can't remember exactly the reasoning behind it but it kinda made sense.

Congratulations on your transfer @Ganiyatou hopefully that something moving is your embaby getting nice and comfortable for the next 9 months

Sorry to hear your scan didn't go as expected @AnitaB83 but I hope the higher dose of menopur gives your smaller follicles the push they need

@Itstime1 wishing you the very best of luck for collection tomorrow

Good luck with egg collection today @6543336787gesgvjhg I hope it all goes well for you

beachbum85 · 25/03/2021 09:27

Good luck @6543336787gesgvjhg! Let us know how it goes x
