Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@beachbum85 - it was! I was so tired that I started sorting washing out to get that last 35mins to move faster. Trigger itself was fine. I had to take 250 which was good as there was no other measures on pen until it clicked to 250. OH has been doing the stabbings but despite his apprehension on different style of injection it went fine. Just remember to keep trigger bit at end pressed until the needle is out.

OH let go at last second so needle wobbled as it came out that last tiny bit. Was really weird. I suspect this is why I have a wee red mark where site was.

@Bigbb - good luck for today!

@AnitaB83 - Welcome Smile

Bigbb · 21/03/2021 10:09

TTCbabyH · 21/03/2021 10:17

@beachbum85 good luck with trigger tonight!

Had our update today, we've still got 7 going. 4 top quality, 3 "good quality" and 1 that has fallen slightly behind. We don't have anymore updates now, just have to wait til Wednesday!!

Ganiyatou · 21/03/2021 10:29

@TTCbabyH 8 is a good number congratulations
I got 7 and the embryologist said they will not contact us till Wednesday except if they is something wrong. So we need to wait till Wednesday to know how many warriors we got.

Are you still in pain? Because I am still feel pain especially in one side.

Sungirl11 · 21/03/2021 10:49

Hi everyone!
Hope it's ok to join... i've been reading through the thread... congrats on all those successful egg collections! It all sounds so positive.
I started ivf in Dec and has to stop just before EC due to my mom getting very ill in Spain, she left us in Feb and i'm back in the UK now. Went for first scan this March and my body was all over the place so I was put on long protocol.
Today, day21, i have the Prostap injection to reset me and on the 7th of April I have my first scan again.
Due to age and number of follicles (32 and over 20) I have been told that it will have to be all frozen after EC.
We have male infertility issues and will be doing egg sharing. (Going private as the NHS ignored me due to age).
Xx

TTCbabyH · 21/03/2021 10:51

@Ganiyatou so glad you got lots fertilised too 🤞🏻 I'm still quite sore too, I wasn't expecting to be by now! Hopefully we feel normal by Wednesday

Hazza2021 · 21/03/2021 11:17

@beachbum85 So I did my ovitrelle midnight and everything went okay. I keep thinking I’m going to ovulate before egg collection tomorrow, I’m sure everything will be okay though! I hope yours goes well tonight!

Bethpalmer20 · 21/03/2021 18:32

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. Good luck to anybody that's due EC/ET next week!

Tonight is my first night of stims. Feeling quite nervous. I lost my 18 year old cat a couple of days ago and have tried to allow myself time to grieve before starting this process and focusing solely on this journey. It's very hard!

RedFaerieBoots · 21/03/2021 19:11

@Hazza2021 - are you suffering side effects from the ovitrelle? I was fine up until 2ish when I started having a bit of a sore lower back. Now feeling nauseous and quite tired. Just missing vomiting and headaches or I'd have the full jackpot I think Hmm.

Hazza2021 · 21/03/2021 19:21

@RedFaerieBoots No I feel okay at the moment just niggly aches in my ovaries. What time tomorrow have you got egg collection, mine is 10am. Nerves are kicking in now. I hope the side effects go off for you.

RedFaerieBoots · 21/03/2021 19:44

@Hazza2021 - heres hoping its not fun! And I'm somewhere between 12.30 & 1pm tomorrow. At this rate won't need that 5am breakfast...

Good luck for tomorrow though. I'm the same really nervous Sad

Donimo · 21/03/2021 19:58

@Bigbb sorry about your negative today. Sounds like there is still a chance so fingers crossed for you

@Sungirl11 welcome and I am really sorry about your mum. Hoping this round goes well for you.

Good luck @Hazza2021 and @RedFaerieBoots for your egg collections tomorrow.

@Bethpalmer20 how did your first injection go? Sorry to hear about your cat

@TTCbabyH and @Ganiyatou congratulations for your embroyos hoping they all go well for you over the next few days

@beachbum85 good luck for your trigger tonight

AnitaB83 · 22/03/2021 09:37

Good morning all!

I am only cycle day 5 and today is my fourth day of menopur (which I am finding quite painful:( ) My fridge is always around 10 degrees! I hope this does not affect medication effectiveness too much because I would not want to repeat all the injections for this reason!

Good luck with the EC/ET/HPT coming:) Flowers Flowers Flowers

beachbum85 · 22/03/2021 09:38

Thanks @TTCbabyH and @Donimo - trigger went well, just have a bit of an upset tummy today but all good! How are you doing?
Thanks for the tip on keeping it pressed till the end @RedFaerieBoots - I repeated that to my partner 3 or 4 times hehe I can be a real pain but he got it right.

Good luck @Hazza2021 and @RedFaerieBoots for later! I hope you're feeling better today @RedFaerieBoots... Can totally understand the nerves and I'll be thinking of both of you x

Great news @TTCbabyH and @Ganiyatou!! Looks like you're both going to have a nice number by the end of it :)

@Bigbb I'm sorry about your negative yesterday - I hope you get better news tomorrow!

Thanks for your well wished @Bethpalmer20 and I'm sorry abut your cat. I hope your first stim injections went well x

Hi @Sungirl11, I'm so, so sorry about your mum,. Glad to hear you've started now - how was the injection yesterday?

Bethpalmer20 · 22/03/2021 10:02

Hi everyone!

First stim injections went well last night. I mixed it and prepared it all and let my partner do the injecting Grin he did a good job and I barely felt it. I did also use emla numbing cream that I got at boots so think that may help if anybody is struggling with pain!

Narwhal88 · 22/03/2021 11:18

Hi all, had a scan this morning, got 20 follicles but 7 are under 8mm. The rest are between 8-13mm. Got another scan on Wednesday but she said I could be ready for egg collection this Friday (4 days ahead of schedule). She said the embryologists like between 6-12 eggs but I feel this is a bit low as everyone I see seems to get more than this! I have an AMH of 44 as well. Feeling positive though, I know it's quality over quantity.

@Bethpalmer20 glad your first injection went well, I hold an ice pack on my stomach before and after and find that helps. So sorry to hear about your cat, it's awful when you lose a pet.

@RedFaerieBoots @Hazza2021 good luck with your EC today!

@Sungirl11 so sorry about your Mum, that must have been tough. I'm 32 and have 20 follicles, AMH 44 and we are doing a fresh transfer (hopefully), just wondering why they have said to do a freeze all, do you have a really high AMH?

TTCbabyH · 22/03/2021 11:28

@Bethpalmer20 @beachbum85 so glad your first stims and trigger went ok!! ❤️

granddesigns · 22/03/2021 11:42

Just trying to catch up on progress - well done everyone for sticking it out! For me it's a bit of a fine balance with these threads between keeping updated and following journeys and support but also getting too obsessed in the 2ww for me so sorry for going quiet occasionally!

Welcome @Sungirl11 - sorry to hear your update. I remember your name from a thread last year and whilst it's good your back on the bus, I imagine it's been a very hard few months- take care.

We are on the countdown to testing day which is Friday - I have my theory based on sore boobs and how many times I'm waking for the bathroom in the night but will see! Body also seems to have taken a dislike to the cyclogest pessaries which is 'helping' with broken sleep and cranky stomach but is tolerating the Lubion injections better despite them being more progesterone!

Lou8319 · 22/03/2021 12:39

Hello all, I’ve been absent for the last few days as I’m finding the whole bit between EC and ET so stressful. It’s been 5 days of worry and not much quality sleep.

But.... I’ve just come back from my 5 day egg transfer! My 5 eggs (2 fertilised normally) became 2 grade A embryos. Absolutely flabbergasted when they told us. So we have one in, and one on ice.

I know we’re a long way off yet, but that’s one more step ticked off.

So for anyone with low egg numbers at EC take some hope.

Ganiyatou · 22/03/2021 13:39

@Lou8319 congratulations for your ET , yes one
Step ticked off and Keep positive.
@granddesigns you are doing well, I know those 2ww looks like forever but you are almost there. I will be thinking of you.

6543336787gesgvjhg · 22/03/2021 14:20

Hi everyone sorry I've been quiet on here and will need time to catch up on the messages.

We have egg collection planned for Thursday - awaiting theatre instructions tomorrow.

However, I wonder how long you were told for your other half to abstain? Internet is saying 2-5 some saying three. Clinic hasn't said or I can't remember.
Thank you in advance 😁

ThinkingOfPineapples · 22/03/2021 14:22

Hello everyone,

I was hoping I could join you on this stressful journey. I haven't posted before but I am a longtime lurker of the infertility boards.

A quick little stat update from me, I'm three miscarriages and one ectopic in on this shitty trying to conceive journey. I have just had my second round of IVF and I have five day blastocyst transferred on Saturday. Currently going through the two week wait and this time around it's really getting to me. I'm struggling to find any kind of distractions to take my mind off of things. Plus I keep going to the dark place of 'this cycle hasn't worked either'. I guess that's what has finally made me perk up and say hello to everyone.

RedFaerieBoots · 22/03/2021 14:27

@Lou8319 - Thank you for that reality check. Just left clinic after EC and was told they only got 4. So bit wobbly and scared. Will try keeping your comments in mind though.

EC itself was fine. Was taken really quickly and last thing I recall was moving legs to stirrups and thinking oxygen mask was too big as air was blowing in eyes. Next thing was back in room with nurse talking to me and my OH there.

Lou8319 · 22/03/2021 14:29

@6543336787gesgvjhg our clinic advised two days but we did three as that was what we did for DH sperm analysis and that went well.
