Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@ThinkingOfPineapples so sorry to hear You’re having a rough time of it. I suspect we all know how all consuming it gets, although your journey has been particularly bumpy.
Do you get any counselling with your IVF at all?

@RedFaerieBoots my consultant told me whilst high as a kite that I had 5, and it would seem I balled my eyes out telling my husband in recovery. I felt crap, google every stat I could find, hoped and prayed. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

How did all the egg collections go?

I got the result from my PGS testing today and I have 1 normal embryo. I feel a bit disappointed that my 25 eggs turned into 1 single transferable embryo but at least there is one. Another cautionary tale to hope for quality over quantity... I now need to wait for my next cycle to start (around April 10th) to start stims again, to thicken my lining this time!

@Lou8319 - Same. Was a mixed feeling of yes there were eggs vs 4...just 4 . Not cried yet but still quite wobbly so yet to come I imagine. Positivity seems quite far away right now but I am trying.

@beachbum85 it was really well! My husband is a nurse so he did it for me and i didn't notice a thing to be honest!
@Narwhal88 well... my AMS is 20.56pmol/L which I was told is normal for my age. The thing is the clinic has changed drs and the previous was happy with fresh as long as I didn't have OHSS but the new one said that if i have more that 10 follicles he doesn't ho ahead with fresh as the follicles release hormone that creates toxicity and it makes it more difficult for the embryo to implant... i did want a fresh transfer, but I will see how it goes and how i feel and then decide (as in the end i believe it's my choice to decide as i'm paying).
@granddesigns thank you! It has been very sad... both our dog and my mom got very sick at same time and left one month apart... it has been really sad and mentally draining all the suffering.
But it's happened and I will always do as my mom said, which is move forward and live life as much as I can. (She was only 65).

Hello can i join please? Quick history. Me 32f and DH is 28M. Severe MFI due to childhood cancer, two years of hormone treatment has got his SA up to a couple of million but very low morphology so ICSI our only option. In investigations discovered i have very low AMH for my age (5.8-6.5) but otherwise looks like no additional issues on my side.

First round yielded 6 mature eggs, 5 fertilised, 4 blasts and 3 PGS excellent quality embryos.

We have decided due to my AMH and my DH's meds making his blood pressure high we would rather bank more now for a second child and hopefully transfer in May which means DH can come off his meds and we don't have to worry about my AMH dropping lower. doctor was kind of argumentative about it but weirdly that doctor has suddenly disappeared from the clinic and a new one has started (a friend of mine has already seen him and said he was great).

So was due to start Friday and tick tock AF still not here or any sign of her. annoying as i took the whole week off work next week so i wouldn't be stressed about booking the time off last minute for retrieval like i was last time (they'll give it to me and my manager knows and understands but the uncertainty just left me anxious last time).

any tips for helping the time pass whilst i wait for her?

@Tarsette I'm sorry you didn't get the numbers you hoped for either, but glad to hear you have a normal embryo and hopefully that one will be the one you need!!

@granddesigns you're so close to OTD - less than 4 days to wait! From the outside, it seems like time has really flown but I can't even imagine how the 2ww must have dragged for you... best of luck!!

Hi @Bells3032, great to hear that you have 3 excellent embryos already! Sorry to hear your period is shifting your plans, that's annoying but I'm afraid I don't have any special tips - I find that watching cooking shows on TV really gets my mind off everything, so that's what I do. Apart from yoga and so on... Hope it shows soon so you can keep moving!

@Donimo @beachbum85@Narwhal88 Thanks for the well wishes. Egg collection went well they managed to collect 9 eggs which was lower than my 12 from last time but I’m happy with the numbers. Just got to wait on tomorrow’s phone call as to how many fertilise which is where my numbers dropped last time.

@RedFaerieBoots Sorry to hear your numbers wasn’t as good as you were hoping but they could be good quality ones. Fingers crossed you get good news tomorrow!

@ThinkingOfPineapples please stay positive. Are you able to listen to any positivity stuff on a podcast or you tube? I know it's so hard but thinking of you.

Reference other half's sperm sorry if TMI. Is it better for the EC he has abstained for 4 days or 2.5 days.... anyone know? Unsure what to do haha.

Sorry to add just rang the clinic quickly as they close at 5pm and they said 2-4... unsure what to suggest to hubby 🤣🤣

so we went with 2 which is the minimum our clinic recommended but I wasn't sure either :/

@beachbum85 I think it's hard when there is so much different data.

The videos on the online portal say 2-3 days. Call the clinic they say 2-4. Some say 2 but no more than 6 days. We can't do three days as he has already yesterday morning (sorry TMI) and EC planned for Thursday not sure on time yet so I think 2.5 days it is 🤣

Hi, that is an excellent idea for the podcasts, I usual listen to crime and serial killers (I know that sounds quite dark but I'm a really cheery person in real life I swear haha). Do you have any recommendations? I'll get searching tonight.

Also concerning sperm and when is the best time to go. Both of my egg collections were done on a Monday morning, the Friday's previous to those I had my final scans and both times the nurses told me to tell my hubby to either go that evening or early Saturday morning. And when we went through initial investigations they told him to go three days before his seaman analysis.

Welcome @Bells3032 my period was late so I did a hitt class, yoga, meditation and had a bath a week after it was due which seemed to work as it started that evening! All things that Google said might bring it on!

@Hazza2021 congratulations on your 9 eggs. Hope they fertilise well and fingers crossed for your update tomorrow. How are you feeling?

@Donimo I was feeling good but I think the painkillers are wearing off as I feel really sore now. I also had an upset tummy a few hours ago but it has gone off.

@Sungirl11 that's really interesting. I didn't think there was an issue with using fresh unless you had OHSS. I guess all doctors had different protocols and opinions though.

So had our update this morning. Out of the 4 we have 2 that fertilised. Embryologist says she expects them to continue dividing and to call on Thursday with an update.

So had hoped all 4 would have fertilised, 2 means I'm still in the game. Just have to find positiveness in this.

@redfaerieboots Hoping your two fertalised stay strong for you! The embryologist sounds hopeful and remember it only takes one! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

So just had my update from the clinic. Out of my 9, 8 were mature and 5 fertilised. I’m happy with those numbers. Transfer is booked for Saturday unless things change dramatically.
