Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@lclarke111 it really is! But the doctors and nurses know best. If anything doesn't work out as planned they will amend things for you so don't worry! Xx

@Idk12345 I can completely understand symptoms spotting...think I will be terrible! How are you doing today? Feeling any better?

My injection didn't go so well tonight! I couldn't get the needle in, I think maybe I wasn't pressing hard enough or not pinching enough? Pricked my skin 3 times and it kept just bouncing back 😂
Had to switch sides and pinch harder but got there in the end! I didn't ice tonight so maybe it was more numb yesterday?

Hi everyone. Hope it's ok if I jump on? I'll admit I haven't caught up on the thread properly as yet but best of luck to everyone awaiting EC, scans or taking their first injections.

I started stims today. I did 2 cycles back in 2018 so it's been a while. I took 300 Fostimon and my left ovaries are really sore. It's making me feel a bit anxious. Is that normal or ok ?

Thank you @Donimo! I felt some twinges on the left today, and it may just be wishful thinking but I'm going in feeling hopeful... I'll let you know afterwards :)

@Narwhal88 that sounds really tough! I admire your determination, I definitely would have gone crying for help!! I've never used ice (or alcohol wipes for that matter as nobody mentioned that to me! Should it be common sense?!) so I don't know about that but maybe you have too little fat :)

Hi @Janefx40! My right ovary has been a little sore since a few days after starting stims, and it's likely the only one working, so I'd take it as a good sign, but it's my first cycle so I'm no expert. I'm sure you could always check with your clinic to put your mind at ease of it continues to feel uncomfortable - I hope it doesn't and the rest of the stims go well :)

@Janefx40 I think anxiety is pretty normal for most hormone injections. My anxiety has been awful just on norethisterone and sleepless nights too x

@beachbum85 definitely is hard, I guess I have a think about control that I didn't even realise as my anxiety has been through the roof with the handing over of all timings etc. I can't tell you how many times I have written down when my egg retrieval might be if my dates change x

Hey, have been sat reading all of your journeys since commenting before! I'm due to start down regs (bureselin injections) in 12 days time. My clinic yesterday asked about how many embryos we wanted transferred (if obviously we get a good result from egg collection/development). I put down a maximum of 2 on the forms but if I do get a choice, I'm undecided... Did any of you ladies get to choose?

Hello all! I've not caught up on everyone's posts in this thread yet and haven't been back to this site since my fresh transfer cycle in December. But I went for an FET earlier this month and wanted to share some good news. The blood test came back with HCG around 300 earlier this week - so I'm definitely pregnant and just need to hang tight for the next few weeks!! :D

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your ECs and transfers. You can do it!! x

I totally get it @Lclarke111, not knowing the plan beyond the next scan is really hard for me too. And my partner is a project manager so used to having all the control :/ but we just have to trust the medical team and keep thinking it'll all be worth it!

Scan went much better this morning :) There are a total of 14 follicles, and 9 are growing. 3 of the smaller ones they're tracking are on the lazy left side, and I'm so relieved the left is responding now! I have another scan booked for Monday but they said they might call later to cancel that and schedule egg collection on Monday/Tuesday instead... The doctors will review my file this afternoon and let me know.

@Crazydoglady123 I also put a max of 2, but I was told we won't be able to choose and it will all depend on age, number and quality of embryos, previous cycles, etc. So basically it's like saying we're open to 2 if that's what they recommend.

Ive had my egg collection, got 10 eggs. Not really sure if that's a good number or not! Now the wait til tomorrow morning to see if any fertilise! 🤞🏻

Another question, has anyone used a mini fridge for storing your meds in? I have a DS whose 9 and I didn't want him seeing them in the fridge so I've purchased a little 4ltr fridge to pop in the spare room but when the pharmacy called to arrange the delivery they said to put it in the middle of the fridge so the air circulates around it. Will a mini fridge be too small for air to circulate?

Welcome @Janefx40, I am on day 4 of stims today and I have a ache on my left side and a little on my right (presumably my ovary). I'm hoping that's a good sign that something is going on.

Welcome @Crazydoglady123, my clinic don't give me a choice re more than 1 embryo. As I'm under 37 and its my first cycle they will only return 1. I have put my meds in our wine fridge (means we haven't been drinking... no wine to put in it! ) I wasn't aware of putting them in the middle of the fridge thing at all, so guessing its not too important (but not sure)!

@beachbum85 glad your scan went well. Not long now till EC! How are you feeling?

Hey everyone! Had my D9 scan today and it’s not looking good, 13 one side and 10 on the other but all except 1 below 10mm so it’s more injections for a while. They are just being lazy little follicles I think.

They won’t up my dose incase I react bad to it so it’s now the waiting game with a decision scan on Monday (fingers crossed!) hopefully have an EC date on Monday or Tuesday depending on how long it takes for my body to respond I guess!

@beachbum85 that’s great news about your scan! When is EC? Sounds like there will be a good many!

@Crazydoglady123 I had several transfers with one embryo but after 3 failed ones, decided I might as well transfer 2 so did that and it still didn’t work. Now I’ve had a new EC and had them tested so it sure whether to go for 1 or 2 (provided I even get 2 normal ones which is actually quite unlikely)!

@TTCbabyH congrats on your EC! That’s a great number!

For all of you going through or about to go through EC I can’t recommend enough drinking a ton of coconut water. That saved me from nausea and other crap side effects a few times already!

So had my last scan today before egg collection on Monday. I have 11 follicles which are between 11 and 18 so by Monday I should have a nice amount. I had 12 at my last egg collection so at least things aren’t too far away!

@Crazydoglady123 I'm actually a senior pharmacy technician and deal with medicines storage and supply 😂 mini fridges often do not get to the right temperature to store medicines. It is correct that they don't always circulate the air properly as well. Personally I would not use one to store medicines. Most of my medicines weren't stored in the fridge anyway, only menopur and once reconstituted it can be stored at room temp. Mine also came in a little blue bag to store it in so you wouldn't know what it was.

I have just finished ivf treatment transfer after 5 day blastocyst last Wednesday I have to take pregnancy test this Sunday but I couldn't wait so I did one today and it was negative shall I worry or wait to carry out another one on Sunday has anyone experienced a negative and then positive test I am so worried

Oh really @Narwhal88? I asked the nurse tonight when we had our screening and she said as long as it stays between 2 and 8 degrees that'd be fine. I've got Ovaleap and Ovitrelle to keep in the fridge. The buserelin doesn't need to be though

@beachbum85 how did the call go? Are you going back on Monday for scan or are these eggs ready to hatch? Exciting!!

Random question but do you all do your injections at a specific time of the day?

@Itstime1 I'm sorry your ovaries are not progressing as hoped. Why might you react badly to upping the medication? Are you already on a high dose? Hope they have a good growth spurt over the weekend.

@Hazza2021 sounds like you are doing well. When do you do your trigger injection?

@Bahare I am sorry you got a negative today. I have no experience as this is my first IVF cycle. But the OTD is there for a reason. So definitely try again on Sunday. Hoping for the best for you. Do you have any pregnancy symptoms?

@Lclarke111 yes I was told to do the bureselin injections each morning so do these around 7.45am. Then to do the bemfola injections each evening so do these around 7.45pm. I was told to do them more or less the same time each day. So do them within 15 mins of those times each day. What injections are you on?
