Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

Hi ladies, I hope you're all doing okay. I have a quick question for anyone who used Norethisterone prior to stimming. How many days after your last day did your period arrive? I am currently on day 5 and AF is nowhere to be found so I'm getting a little stressed now

@ForeverHopeful17 I'm day 3 after norethisterone and no AF yet but started spotting. I need it to start by tomorrow as I'm meant to be having my baseline scan on Tuesday eek. Really don't want to push it back as I have all my time off work planned around it. Do you have your baseline booked in yet? It normally takes 3-5 days but it can take longer.

Hi, I had to use Northisterone last week prior to stims, my last dose was the Friday and then D1 started the following Thursday (just in time for my base line scan!)
I asked and they said it was normal so fingers crossed AF arrives soon for you!

@Narwhal88 I've also had a little spotting (barely noticeable) but no actual flow yet. I was expecting AF to start Friday and like you have booked time off work around those dates. I was expecting only expecting 3 days as that's what it's always been in the past when I've taken it to delay my period. I really just want to get on with it now sigh all this waiting is so frustrating. I went in for a scan last week and I was told my next one would be around CD6 so I guess that was an early baseline scan. I've got my fingers crossed that AF starts for us tonight or tomorrow morning.

Oh wow @Itstime1 I didn't know it could take so long but I'm happy it arrived just in time for you. Thank you so much, I really hope it comes ASAP as it's really stressing me out. How are you getting on with the medication?

Yes it took a while for me! It’s annoying as they used it to ‘plan’ my cycle... to the same date AF was due to start anyway! Try not to stress, I was told even if it doesn’t start to still go for scans and then they will check everything as everyone is different.
Im terrified of needles to be honest but try to be so brave with the injections! I’m on Meriofert for now and (don’t want to jinx it) but I’m ok so far. Few twinges in my sides but I start the second medication on Tuesday.

If your spotting it’s a good sign and fingers crossed AF starts soon x

@ForeverHopeful17 it's so frustrating as I was told I had to take it even though I was due on today anyway and I'm never late. I've taken it in the past as well to delay periods, the last time was 2019 and I checked and it took 4 days so praying it arrives tomorrow! Fingers crossed for both of us!

@6543336787gesgvjhg I also like Bettina Rae's fertility yoga - atm I'm doing the stims one and the one to thicken the uterine lining. Sorry, I haven't listened to any fertility-related podcasts, but one called Big Fat Negative is pretty well-known although I don't know if it's IVF focused.

@ZoZoeee123 I hope you are doing ok. Please take care of yourself. This is a tough journey with so many hurdles (and one of them always seems to trip us up somewhere along the way, at least that’s how I feel).

I’m quite gutted today as my 25 mature eggs have now turned into just 4 blasts...I always knew I would lose many (I have polycystic ovaries so that means many eggs of lower quality) but wasn’t expecting to lose THAT many... I am having them PGT tested after 4 failed transfers and a few chemicals so I am now worried I might end up with no transferable blasts at all...I am 41 so the odds of having a normal one are only 25%, which will leave me with one, if I am really lucky.

Finding menopur is making me very tired and had a few headaches/queasiness last few days. Just had my first scan and bloods. Looks like heading in right direction I guess. Have one 14, two 12s and a couple of 10s. So next scan is Wednesday. Get results of bloods this afternoon to say of there are any eggs so will be on tenterhooks until then I think.

@Tarsette - sorry to hear that. Will keep fingers crossed that all 4 are okay for transfer.

Sorry to hear your update @Tarsette - the numbers are so hard and I know they say it only takes one but it's really difficult when you are walking each step and it means so much and you have invested so much. Really hope that things go your way and keeping you in my thoughts.

Thanks too for the good wishes - now to get through the dreaded 2ww! Few twinges so far but I remember being in the 'progesterone or pregnant' game before - everything seems to be a symptom of either or both of these!

@RedFaerieBoots hello, I feel the same. I did the third injection last night at 7pm and was ready for bed by half 8. Woke up headache again today, is it just because it's Monday morning or is it the injections - who knows 🤣 I have my first scan tomorrow morning. How did you find the scan?

@Tarsette sorry to hear that, but think positive, it just takes one. I've been hearing that song "don't worry, about a thing, every little thing is gonna be alright" think it's from the fairy advert. Been singing it to myself every day and find it helps. Xx

@Orsh I finally received the consent forms end of last week and they have brought forward the taking of norethisterone and I start taking this from Wednesday for a week. How are you getting on?

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories on Norethisterone, they have calmed my anxiety a lot over the last day or so.

Hi all, I had my follicle tracking scan today and have 9 eggs over 10mm (1 x 18mm, 3 x 15mm, 2 x 11mm and 3 x 10mm) the lady seemed to think this was okay and I can go ahead for my egg collection on Friday! I was a little concerned they were too small, anyone have experience of them growing quite a bit before egg collection? I had a further 15 eggs under 10mm who are unlikely to get to the right size in time!

@IVFbabyF that's good news 😊. Only 9 days.
I am starting progynova tablets next Thursday, so we really are on a very similar timeline.
It feels like that something is happening for real finally.

I was very anxious about the whole unknown over the weekend, but I managed to come to terms with it somehow... for now.
How are you feeling?

@6543336787gesgvjhg - It was okay actually. Identical practically to the AMH test. Far prefer the vaginal ultrasound to a smear any day . Took less than 15mins - blood test, scan, quick overview and out.

@RedFaerieBoots ohh great that sounds ok then. Do you have any ovary type pain? I have a similar pain to when I am ovulation.

The appointment this time is over an hour away from me (only place they could fit me in on the right day!) and it's half 7 in the morning but need to be back for 9 so I don't need to tell work so might be pushing it but can always ring my manager on way back but rather not have to tell her!

Yes, have an ache around lower back/hips. Feel a little bloated as well.

My manager knows as does my team. My clinic recommended I shielded during treatment. So WFH suddenly became a thing. I'm doing 6weeks and now despite managers grumbles colleagues are doing a day per week each. They have actually been really supportive which is lovely and makes me feel less alone.

@beachbum85 yes I had my baseline scan this morning and all is good to start Bemfola tomorrow. Is your next scan tomorrow?

Those of you who did down regulation with bureselin did you stay on the same dose of bureselin when doing stims? I am sure I read someone saying they reduce the dose, but just realised nothing was said to me today at my appointment. I have just left an answer phone message asking a nurse to call to confirm.

I have become a little lost in all your updates, but have been reading them all. I am sorry for those who haven't got the updates they hoped for from scans etc. But fingers crossed it is still a positive outcome for you. And good luck to everyone x

@Donimo glad your scan went well and you start stims tomorrow! Next scan is Wednesday and I'm really looking forward to getting some updates. My dose of Buserelin was reduced from 0.5ml to 0.25ml once I started Gonal F.

@Tarsette I'm sorry to hear of the drop-off there - I can imagine your disappointment and I hope your results from PGT testing are good and you have at least one good quality transferable one. When will you know? It will be a separate FET then, I guess? Take care of yourself in the meantime and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

@RedFaerieBoots thanks for sharing your numbers! I have my first scan on Wednesday and not sure what to expect, but they did say we're aiming for 18mm so yours seem to be getting there :) what did your blood tests say?

@TTCbabyH glad to hear you're up for egg collection and you have a good number there! I was told there's a big growth spurt even after the trigger shot, but it's my first time so I don't know first-hand!

@RedFaerieBoots yeah my manager knows too but I haven't started I've actually started IVF she knows I've had bloods and scans but not the actual dates. The reason been is I don't want her asking if it's worked or not so I've just been dragging it along in a way. So if tomorrow I don't need to say then she doesn't need to know if that makes sense haha.

@Orsh I am so nervous and excited! We have a zoom call next week to receive all our other dates too. How are you feeling?

@Itstime1 I was told that it would override my natural cycle and make me come earlier which clearly didn't work but AF arrived with a vengeance today which is a massive relief. I'm glad to hear everything is going well for you, I start meds tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to the injections x
