Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

So everyone i started to take northesterone 5mg 2x a day for 7 days and its day7 after finishing the med and still no periods has this happened to anyone?

I've done my first injection and feel a little emotional. It didn't go too well had to re-watch the video whilst doing it but husband was great he prepped it all and then left the room and I injected myself. It was harder than I imagined and felt very emotional afterwards. Hopefully tomorrow's is a little better. We lost some of the solution when trying to get the air out but I'm sure the next time it will be better 😫😫

Sorry @Freya2015 I'm on a short protocol. Did the clinic say to keep taking them?

Xx

Donimo · 12/03/2021 20:56

@Tarsette excellent number of embryos. Sounds promising

@Lou8319 your scan sounded good to me, but this is my first cycle so a beginner here!

@Itstime1 glad your scan went well and you are able to move ahead in your treatment

@elsaesmeralda I am sorry to hear you are not feeling great. I hadn't thought of it till you said but my side effects with bureselin started after my period too. Hopefully it will be all worth it in the end. When are you due to start stims?

Congratulations @ZoZoeee123 all sounds promising so far. Hoping everything goes well over the weekend for monday

@Hazza2021 thats good news about your left ovary! Hope the change in meds works for you over the weekend

@6543336787gesgvjhg I am sure it will be easier tomorrow now you have the first one out the way

@beachbum85 how are you going with your injections? When is your next scan?

Lou8319 · 12/03/2021 21:53

@6543336787gesgvjhg you’re a braver woman than me, my husband has to do my injections, no chance of me doing it.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 12/03/2021 22:28

Hi Guys, exciting times ahead for you all. Glad to see your all doing well. And gosh the needles sound scary!

Ganiyatou · 13/03/2021 00:47

Hi! I can see everyone is doing well. Please share tips on how you keep yourself healthy and if you are taking any extra vitamins to improve the quality of your eggs.

TTCbabyH · 13/03/2021 07:49

@Ganiyatou I've been taking Inofolic sachets (to help with my PCOS), COQ10, Vit D & Vit C.

Donimo · 13/03/2021 08:16

@Ganiyatou I have just been taking pregnacare, high dose (5mg) folic acid (due to family history of spina bifida) and high dose of vitamin D. Diet wise trying to eat healthy with high protein and green vegs.
Breakfast- poached eggs and fruit
Lunch- lentil/veg soup or omelette
Tea- chicken/fish/chickpeas and veg
I have also got some protein bars to have when I start stims (hopefully mon/tues)
Any recipe suggestions would be appreciated, as getting quite bored.
Also no alcohol or coffee and trying to reduce caffeine from other sources too.
But not getting to strict and do allow some treats and odd bad meal (like the takeaway last night!!)

elsaesmeralda · 13/03/2021 11:46

@Donimo I'm doing a fet with down regulation, my last one was cancelled due to my lining not responding so I'm abit ahead of some of you - for what it's worth I found stims fine, hardly any side effects just bloating towards the end!! Buserelin has given me more side effects

@beachbum85 no date as of yet. But have my down reg scan on the 18th so if all has gone as it should of I will have around two weeks ish of more meds then (hopefully) transfer

granddesigns · 13/03/2021 11:48

We were on a high protein, low card diet with lots of fruit and veg pre egg collection and have tried to stay high protein with lots of fresh stuff since. Also very high dose vitamin D and a pretty conception supplement.

Had our day 5 fresh transfer this morning and really pleased to have a top quality blastocyst returned and 4/5 for the freezer too! Now to wait and rest and hope and keep busy!

Hope you're all doing ok - the numbers game is crazy - but can change in both directions. My first collection they were worried about over stimulating me and actually got 7 mature eggs. This time, the consultant wrote 9 on the paper when I was in the room and I woke up to find they got 17 - had to get the nurse to confirm as thought I was seeing things with the drugs on board!

elsaesmeralda · 13/03/2021 12:07

@granddesigns exciting ! Fingers crossed for you 💕

Ganiyatou · 13/03/2021 16:36

@granddesigns, That’s amazing! So happy for you.

Ganiyatou · 13/03/2021 16:50

@TTCbabyH @Donimo you’re doing very well. I have been talking pregnacare for a while now and vitamins D too. I am just no good on balance diet but trying my best to eat fruit and vegetable as much as I can. Also heard about bromelain to help implantation don’t know if anyone know or use it before.

Peachthepiglet · 13/03/2021 18:25

@Ganiyatou I have just been taking pregnacare and generally eating healthy. My partner has also been taking the male conception vitamin. I’ve managed to give up caffeinated drinks and since starting stimulants no alcohol but since Christmas was kinda limiting it to half a bottle of wine a week so hardly anything!

@6543336787gesgvjhg how are the stimulants going? Hopefully got a bit easier. I’m a bit worried about starting fyremadel tomorrow as I heard it’s a stinger.

@granddesigns congrats how exciting! Smile

6543336787gesgvjhg · 13/03/2021 18:32

@Peachthepiglet hello, due to have the second one just after 7 and I can feel my nerves! It's mad how long it took to prepare last night but hopefully be quicker tonight now we know what we're doing.

I take the pregnacare conception tablets and cod liver oil and then every few days an extra coq10 tablet. Husband has the well man conception and cod liver oil.

He said earlier... oh I forgot you've got to inject yourself again!!!!!!! It's alright for them isn't it haha! 🤣

In relation to menopur on the video it says to turn the mixed solution upside down but it's hard to get it all out. The booklet just shows it on the table. What does everyone else do or been told?

When it is best to have pomegranate juice?

Hope everyone is well. 😄

6543336787gesgvjhg · 13/03/2021 18:35

Also do you swap sides each time?

Peachthepiglet · 13/03/2021 18:39

@6543336787gesgvjhg yes I’ve been switching sides. One side hurt more but think I pushed it in too hard and where I’m fairly slim it went like way too far in me ha. We put the needle in when the menopur is on the table and then tip it upside down and draw it out quite slowly. Yes much quicker when you don’t have to mix!

6543336787gesgvjhg · 13/03/2021 19:08

@Peachthepiglet just done number 2 🎉 I think because it means so much it's a bit nerve racking isn't it.

Alarms and reminders reset for tomorrow!

TTCbabyH · 13/03/2021 19:18

@Ganiyatou I think bromelian is what is in pineapple core (not 100% though!) but I've been eating a few bits of pineapple including the core a day, small glass of Pom juice (can use beetroot juice as an alternative!) and then 3 Brazil nuts. I heard avocado is good too but I don't particularly like it so steering clear of that one!

I'm not doing a strict diet but I eat fairly well already. If I fancy a chocolate bar I'll be having one! It all gets too much otherwise!

I have massively cut down my caffeine intake though. I'm a big tea drinker so I'm just having one a day and the rest decaf!

beachbum85 · 13/03/2021 19:45

@granddesigns I'm so glad to hear you have a top-quality blast on board and congrats on being PUPO (is that what they say?!), and quite a few to freeze too! Super exciting and best of luck for the next days!!

@Margwit did you have a transfer today too? If so, I hope all went smoothly!

@ZoZoeee123 and @Tarsette I hope your Day3 updates were positive!

@6543336787gesgvjhg glad to see 2 injections are done! I think it definitely gets easier with time but the whole process is pretty nerve racking. Also we didn't have to mix anything... still we did lose some solution the first few days as we learnt to deal with the bubbles, and now we let the air out while the needle is still in the solution so we can draw more if needed. Not sure that helps at all or if the bottles are totally different, but definitely very brave to do it yourself!

@Donimo I'm doing pretty well thanks! Really tired some days but overall no bad side effects from the stims, so far at least. Next scan is Wed which will be 9 days in. How are you? Is your baseline scan on Monday? Good luck and I hope they give you the go-ahead to start stims!

@elsaesmeralda 18th is not too far! Hope all will be looking good so you can proceed :)

@Ganiyatou my partner and I have been taking pre-conception supplements, vit D and omega 3. Overall, we eat quite a balanced diet and mostly vegetarian, and for the past few weeks we've been choosing organic wherever possible and I've been eating more avocados and stopped drinking alcohol (was enjoying a couple of glasses of wine previously). Since starting stims, I've increased my protein and water intake, and started drinking pomegranate juice. Luckily, I don't like coffee or tea, but I do have a little bit of chocolate (usually dark) and I definitely treat myself sometimes (find it hard to resist pizza and pasta)!
@Donimo not sure if this is the sort of thing you might like? Super easy: minimalistbaker.com/1-pot-red-lentil-chili/

Lou8319 · 13/03/2021 23:15

@Peachthepiglet I’ve had three Fyremadel injections so far and I was nervous too. But actually not that bad. I had a bit of a red itchy lump after the first one, so iced before and after the next two times and it’s been better.

Ganiyatou · 14/03/2021 00:06

Happy for everyone and good luck for all of us. I am also having my next scan on Monday to see how my follicles are doing.

ZoZoeee123 · 14/03/2021 10:56

Hi everyone,

Hope you are doing ok. Thank you all for your support on here. You've been amazing. I'm taking a break from social media and forums for a while. Wishing you all the best for your own journeys xxx

6543336787gesgvjhg · 14/03/2021 10:58

Thank you @beachbum85 it definitely gets easier! Can't believe it's day 3 already. Been waiting months for this and it's going quick (so far!!) I have my first scan on Tuesday morning🤞

Is anyone doing any "fertility" yoga? I really like Bettina Rae on you tube.

Does anyone recommend any podcast? I really like law of attraction changed my life but wanted one more in relation to IVF if anyone can recommend anything?

Thank you all, take care xx
