Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@Tarsette amazing news!

@Peachthepiglet thank you feels like ages away still, just want to get the first one out the way. Do you do the injection at the same time? I plan to do it at 7pm. My husband is scared of needles so I'll have to do it myself, which I don't mind. He will assist when I make it up though for the first time, can't see how you can hold the ampule and pull up at the same time but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it 😅

Peachthepiglet · 11/03/2021 18:24

@6543336787gesgvjhg I am intending to do it after dinner each night which is around 8.15. My partner is in charge of mixing which went ok once we figured it out. I’m not going to let him inject me after he asked the nurse how hard he should stab it in ha! Good luck :)

beachbum85 · 11/03/2021 19:23

@Tarsette that's really great! you must be so relieved :)
good luck for the next few days x

@Peachthepiglet lol @ your partner's comment! But I'm glad it went well yesterday and you're feeling fine!

@elsaesmeralda ugh that bloating does not sound like much fun! hope you feel better soon... I didn't have that on Buserelin but I just generally don't feel like I'm in very good shape because I don't have the energy to do much exercise!

Margwit · 11/03/2021 20:57

@Tarsette 16 wow that’s great news, keeping everything crossed for you to still have a good strong bunch to implant and/or freeze.
I had my day 3 update today and 1 is going great guns the other is a little behind but still hanging in there so I’m still hopeful to have 1 for implantation on Saturday.

@ZoZoeee123 hope your EC went ok x

@elsaesmeraldaI was very bloated on buserilin too (and hasn’t gone down yet) I figure it’s an insight into how things might look haha

TTCbabyH · 11/03/2021 21:43

Hope everyone is doing ok today? Has anyone started or had previously cetrodide? We start tomorrow morning and the videos of drawing It up seem quite daunting! Our stims are a pre-filled pen which seems a lot easier!

Ganiyatou · 11/03/2021 21:44

@beachbum85 probably the meds are working. Thanks God I feel better today. What about you! How are you feeling ?

beachbum85 · 11/03/2021 22:17

@Ganiyatou glad you're feeling better today! I am too, thanks, not as tired/foggy as yesterday, maybe because I didn't wake up in a hot sweat in the middle of the night.. either way much better :)

@TTCbabyH good luck for tomorrow! I've not used that so I can't help, but the pre-filled pens are definitely the best so far!

@Margwit so glad to hear your 2 are progressing! sounds like at least 1 will be fine for Saturday, and I'm cheering them both on from here :)

Donimo · 11/03/2021 22:18

@Lou8319, your scan sounded positive, good luck for your next scan tomorrow

@6543336787gesgvjhg glad everything is going to plan for you so far. Hope your first injection goes well tomorrow.

@Tarsette great news with the 16 fertilised. Fingers crossed for you over the next few days

@Peachthepiglet I'm not letting my husband anywhere near me with a needle... but I am a bit of a control freak! I am also a bit of a freak in that I acupuncture myself sometimes (I am qualified in acupuncture BTW!)

@elsaesmeralda no bloating here with bureselin but like @beachbum85 really haven't got the energy to do anything. I fell asleep after work this evening.... my husband came home to me fast asleep and my 2 year old watching to mr tumble, which she had managed to put on to take advantage of me sleeping! (Great parenting!)

@Margwit hope your 2 little embroys keep fighting for you and they both make it

Hope everyone else is doing ok and sorry if I have missed anyone's updates!

Tarsette · 12/03/2021 07:04

@elsaesmeralda I was so bloated on stims i looked really pregnant and then o wasn’t drinking alcohol so everyone just assumed I was pregnant, so annoying when it is quite the opposite!

@TTCbabyH I have had Cetrotide many times. The mixing bit takes a bit of time getting used to but once you have gotten the hang of that, the injection part isn’t so different from the pens. Don’t forget to swap needles! I once read the story of a lady on one of these forums who tried to inject it with the large mixing needle!

@Peachthepiglet I’m a wimp so my husband has always done every single injection for me (and I have a good 12 rounds of stims over the years!)

I got my day 2 update. Still have 16 and my Dr says 11 are «good quality».

Orsh · 12/03/2021 07:38

Hello Lovely Ladies,

Thank you for all your kind and supportive words. It means a lot and made me feel better.

I received another cold mannered call yesterday, I start progynova tablets on 25th (day 21) and will take it for a week, then a scan on 1st April, when they will tell me when to start stims apparently. I had a few questions, but was told that the doctor will tell me everything I need to know at the scan. I probably should be happy now, but I wish they were more humane. I was trying to gain knowledge from Google, but not much luck. Has anyone taken progynova before stims?

@IVFbabyF it somehow feels exciting that we share a timeline. Have they called you yet? Do you know how long are you going to take norethisterone for yet?

Unfortunately I am not the best example of a fairly quick and smooth IVF journey so far @AnonymousXXIX, but for most people it is less bumpy, however it is frustrating for everyone, no matter what. There are so many waiting and uncertainty on the way. I am very sorry about your 56 working days waiting for the funding process. It sounds horrible and frustrating. I am sure it will speed up for you once the admin is out of the way.
I have been on this journey for a long time (for 1 cycle), but at the end we will only focus on the great outcome, our baby. All this time and waiting only matters now (super frustrating), but will not when we have our babies.

I am so glad to hear that you can move to the next stage @beachbum85 and fingers crossed for your 11 tiny follicles to multiply and grow as they are supposed to 🤞

Such lovely numbers on your results @ZoZoeee123 and @Tarsette

It is so nice to see how things are moving forward. Great to read about your stims, EC, numbers, etc and I am so happy for all your success and achievements on each step.
I hope everyone is well 😊

Hazza2021 · 12/03/2021 09:32

I’m having my first scan today to see how things are going on the gonal f. Feeling a bit nervous as my first scan on my last round didn’t show too many last time and they wasn’t very big. Fingers crossed I have better luck this time!

Lou8319 · 12/03/2021 09:53

Second scan done and I’m not sure what to think!

So my first scan my follicles were:
1 at 13mm
6 at 10-12mm
12 at 8mm and lower.

This time:
1 at 16mm
7 at 12-14mm
11 at 9mm or 10mm

I asked if the little ones will grow to join the others and the nurse said they will grow, but they probably won’t get to the same as the others. Which leaves me with 8 big ones.
Feel a little unsure today.

TTCbabyH · 12/03/2021 10:04

@Tarsette OUCH I can't imagine how much that would have hurt her! I've done it this morning, took me ages to mix it but got there in the end!

@Lou8319 haven't got any advice as I'm not at that stage yet but just remember you only need 1 🤞🏻 what have the clinic advised next? Do you carry on stims for a while longer?

@Hazza2021 good luck 💫

Lou8319 · 12/03/2021 10:16

@Hazza2021good luck with your scan

Lou8319 · 12/03/2021 10:18

@TTCbabyH the nurse will speak to the consultant and give me a call today. She seemed to think they’ll keep me on 150 Ovaleap and 0.25 Fyremadel. Then my next scan is on Monday.

Just hoping they all grow some more.

Itstime1 · 12/03/2021 10:41

Good luck to everyone RE- EC!
@Hazza2021 Good luck with your scan today!
@Tarsette fingers crossed for the good news for you.

Does the time go so fast yet so slow for other people? Im not one for really posting but love reading how everyone is getting on.

I had my base scan yesterday, 9 on one side, 7 on the other and for the first time ever (typical) a small cyst! Husband is sure its due to the meds they put me on to 'control my cycle' which has made my P start the very same day it was supposed to anyway... They aren't worried as its so small so that's a bonus.

They told me to start Meriofert yesterday evening so we seem to be moving on now! Start other meds on Tuesday with a D9 scan booked in already and potential EC dates already given. They don't seem to concerned over scanning me every few days but I suppose everyones journey is different isn't it (that's what i keep telling myself anyway).

Bethpalmer20 · 12/03/2021 12:23

@tarsette amazing news for your day 2 update!

@lou8319 I can't offer any advice but keeping everything crossed for you!

I'm due to keep taking norethisterone for another week yet, taking it at 8am and 8pm however I'm finding when I take it at 8pm I'm feeling nauseous for a few hours after. Has anybody else experienced this? It's not a huge issue but I've got a huge fear of being sick so maybe I'm just working myself up over it Grin

elsaesmeralda · 12/03/2021 12:29

@ZoZoeee123 hope everything went okay with your egg collection ? 💕

Hi everyone, really hard to keep up with all the updates 😆 I'm having some lovely side effects from the buserelin, today it's major anxiety kicking in, although I do suffer from anxiety normally this is quite intense and for no apparent reason so I know it's the injections, also the hot flushes have started, it seems like as soon as my period came the side effects showed up! Cannot wait to just get this transfer done ( well hoping i actually can this time )

beachbum85 · 12/03/2021 12:42

@Hazza2021 good luck! let us know how it goes!

@Lou8319 I haven't got to that point yet, but a friend of mine who had IVF did warn me not to get a shock at the scans because it’s really right towards the end, around the time they tell you to take the trigger injection, that they have a growth spurt. So hopefully some more will catch up, but also 8 mature eggs would pretty good!

@Itstime1 sorry to hear about your cyst but great news that it won't be a problem and your baseline scan went well :) I start stims on Tuesday and I only have a Day 9 and Day 11 scan booked before potential egg collection (although I don't have a date for that) and I was worried about not knowing what's going on till then, but it's comforting to know your clinic is similar... I'm sure they must know what they're doing!

@Donimo that's so cool that you acupuncture yourself! Like @Tarsette, I'm a total scaredy cat - I don't look at what's happening when I go to acupuncture and my partner has been doing all the injections so I can look the other way!

@Tarsette, great to see so many hanging on and such so many of good quality! On a few days longer to wait :)

@Orsh I'm sorry you have to deal with this unhelpful manner, and I hope you're feeling positive apart from these issues you have to deal with. I must say that the videocall with the nurse was the most useful for me - do you have one of those planned before you start tor is it not needed since you're on tablets and not injections? Thanks for your well wishes... fingers crossed here!

beachbum85 · 12/03/2021 12:45

@elsaesmeralda sorry to hear about the side effects. They sound similar to mine, and I was assuming it's the Gonal F but maybe it's the Buserelin! Still taking it just a lower dose than before... Fingers crossed that it's a sign that they're working their magic and fingers crossed that all will go well and you can transfer soon. do you have a potential date? x

ZoZoeee123 · 12/03/2021 13:26

Hi everyone,

Sorry haven't been on the forum for a few days. Thank you to everyone for the well wishes. It is really lovely to have so much support. We have 5 eggs that fertilised so fingers crossed they develop and one can be put back on Monday! Hope everyone is getting on ok. Sorry it's hard to keep up with all the updates xx

Hazza2021 · 12/03/2021 13:27

So I have had my scan. They are still really small but I have one lead follicle at 9mm. She could see 6 on my right and 6 on my left (which is a complete shock as I didn’t think my left one worked due to a cyst I had removed). She is upping my meds so hopefully there will be an improvement on Monday!

Orsh · 12/03/2021 14:15

Thank you @beachbum85. Unfortunately I have no more videocalls. My next opportunity will be at the scan on 1st April.

Meanwhile I found old letters that says my AMH was 46.6 a year and a half ago, when I was 34. I have polycystic ovaries, but at that time my hormone levels were normal. Previously I was diagnosed with PCOS.

Tbh more I read about it, more confused I am 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tarsette · 12/03/2021 14:45

@Lou8319 Those are amazing numbers! I had about the same at the same stage and ended up with 25 mature (even though there only seemed to be 14 mature the day of trigger shot). The important thing is that they evolve in a linear manner and yours seem to be since they are all progressions at the same speed!

@Orsh I have polycystic ovaries as well. It means loooots of eggs!

beachbum85 · 12/03/2021 17:39

@ZoZoeee123 great to hear your news! I hope all 5 keep going strong and that you're recovering OK from egg collection

@Hazza2021amazing to hear both your ovaries are responding when you thought one couldn't - that must have been a wonderful surprise! Good luck for Monday and I hope things progress well

@Orsh that must be frustrating! April 1 looks far away now, but hopefully time will fly and you'll get all the answers you need then.
