Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

Good luck @ZoZoeee123 and @Tarsette 🤞🏻🤞🏻

How is everyone else ?

I managed to butcher myself yesterday with an injection, big purple bruise has come up, I'm thinking I hit a little blood vessel or something ! Doesn't look pretty. I've also come on my period this morning, so got awful period pains and headaches today !

Tarsette · 10/03/2021 12:13

Thanks to everyone! Egg collection went well, we got 25 mature eggs. I’ll hear about fertilisation tomorrow and then get updates everyday except day 4. I have polycystic ovaries so was expecting a large number of eggs (got 46 on my first egg collection when I was 34!) but that also means quite a number of them are not so good quality (as my Dr put it «that’s nature’s way of being fair»). So I am expecting a pretty steep drop off in the next few days. But that’s ok, as long as I end up with 1 or 2 good blasts to transfer!

@Margwit as I was just saying, numbers are def not everything. Better to have a few good quality ones than many average or bad quality ones!

@Donimo oh that sounds like you had a pretty rough night after EC. I wasn’t even given any painkillers so hoping the pain doesn’t flare up later tonight Confused. I’m feeling a bit nauseous already but I guess that’s to be expected considering the number of eggs I had retrieved...

elsaesmeralda · 10/03/2021 12:28

@Tarsette wow what a number ! Yes there probably will be a drop off but as we always hear.. it only takes one 🥚 well done and rest up now !

Tarsette · 10/03/2021 12:38

@elsaesmeralda yep, spent all day in bed watching The Crown!

beachbum85 · 10/03/2021 12:40

That's amazing @Tarsette! I hope there will be a good number of good quality ones that make it to blasts - fingers crossed for you :) And I hope the recovery goes smoothly - your body has been working super hard these days!

@elsaesmeralda sorry to hear about your bruise and period pains! Yd the nurse said that bruises can come up if you pinch the skin too hard (I asked my partner to pinch pretty hard thinking that I'd feel it less hehe) not sure if that's your case but either way I hope it eases off quickly. Take it easy and get well soon x

granddesigns · 10/03/2021 12:49

Wow @Tarsette - that's incredible - hope your body recovers well and the numbers progress positively. Hope your collection went ok too @ZoZoeee123
It is amazing how our bodies respond and recover (and not surprising that they sometimes aren't so convinced!) I went to bed on Monday night feeling very tender and wondering how I'd get through Tuesday being back at my desk (wfh though) and woke up in the night for the bathroom - couldn't believe the difference and improvement. That said, yesterday evening was pretty sore and I slept like 13 hours but again much improved today. I have extra progesterone shots this time (Lubion) so sleep is beautifully framed by a double pessary before bed and an injection on waking - oh well it can't all be perfect!

Ganiyatou · 10/03/2021 19:01

@TTCbabyH I am feeling the same, I started my stims on Monday but today I am feeling cold and hot at the same time. Hope is not like this everyday.

kk18 · 10/03/2021 19:20

I have been through IVF 3 times -one boy almost 3 ( blocked tubes, low AMH, low progesterone, underactive thyroid and increased NK cells), I have somehow managed to get pregnant on my own (kind of) and found out the day before our 4th IVF was meant to start, this was MMC but somehow pregnant again now . I have meds that I am willing to donate or re-sell, can't bare to just dispose of them if they can help someone else. I wish you all luck, it is a tough journey but so worth every injection and pound spent xxx

TTCbabyH · 10/03/2021 19:31

@Ganiyatou sorry to hear you're feel unwell too! I still had a terrible headache today and feel a bit dazed. Hoping my body will adjust 😩 what injections are you using? I'm on gonal F so wondering if it's common x

Donimo · 10/03/2021 19:41

@Tarsette congratulations on your mature eggs. Hoping they develop well. And hope you are feeling ok

elsaesmeralda · 10/03/2021 19:51

Thanks @beachbum85 I'm okay period pains not as intense now but still feel pretty rubbish in general, mainly tired and foggy headed, seems like all side effects have come on with the bleed! The bruise is deffo not from pinching to hard, it's a deep purple so I'm sure I've got something I shouldn't of but injection this morning was fine and didn't mark!
How're the stims going ??

Ganiyatou · 10/03/2021 19:58

@beachbum85 thank you for asking, it want very well just that the scan was very quick but said everything was fine , after the nurse was lovely and took her time to explain all the process. I have started Meriofert 225 on Monday evening and will add Furemadel injection on Friday. My next scan will be on Monday 15th to see if my eggs are getting to the normal size.

Glad you were able to start your injections. We are all getting closer to the end.

Ganiyatou · 10/03/2021 21:01

@TTCbabyH yes i can imagine. No I am on Merofert 225. It probably doing the same things just different names.

Gardenlady543 · 10/03/2021 21:49

@StormyC

beachbum85 · 10/03/2021 22:52

@TTCbabyH @elsaesmeralda and @Ganiyatou I'm on Gonal F and I'm the same... woke up in the middle of the night in a hot flush and then woke up feeling cold (and I usually sleep very well), and I was woolly-brained all day - I even had to have an afternoon nap! I'm taking it as a sign that the meds are working but it's not a great feeling.
My next scan is on the 17th to check progress.

@granddesigns glad to hear you're recovering well, especially since they say the time post-EC can be very tough! Hope it continues to go smoothly.

@kk18 lovely to hear your success stories and thanks for the offer but I'm with the NHS at the moment so my meds are covered - thanks for the well wishes too!

Lou8319 · 11/03/2021 00:09

Had my 6 day stim scan today. Nurse said uterine lining was triple layered and 8mm.

I’ve got 11 follicles on one side and 8 the other. One is 13mm and the others are smaller. To be honest I can’t remember exactly what she said. Don’t know about anyone else, but a lot of it all turns into a blur!
Obviously went straight on to Dr Google, and made myself fell both good and bad in the space of a few minutes.

Starting Fyremadel tomorrow, to stop the big one going to far and to allow the others to catch up. Then next scan Friday. Hopefully all goes well.

Good luck to everyone waiting for their ECs and finding out embryo numbers.

Good luck everyone. It's hard to keep up with everyone's different stages but I send the best wishes to everyone ♥️

Period has arrived today so I can finally start my first injection tomorrow night - menopur. I'm shocked it arrived on time and haven't had to wait all day either! 🎉

Take care everyone. Have a lovely day x

AnonymousXXIX · 11/03/2021 11:10

Girls, I was just told that my local CCG takes 56 working days to process funding forms. 56 working days. My consultant had told me 'around 4 weeks'. I was fully expecting to start treatment in April. Not JUNE.

Is this actually a thing?!! I'm dead.

beachbum85 · 11/03/2021 11:16

@AnonymousXXIX ugh that's terrible!! I'm so sorry about the delay, especially since it's an admin one! Our funding approval was all done in the background so I don't know how long it took (in London) but we had our consultation in Sept and we were asked to do some tests and stuff and when we spoke to the consultant in Dec she said it was all good to go. I know it feels like every week counts so that is sooo frustrating, I'm sorry and I hope that tie goes as fast as it possibly can xx

beachbum85 · 11/03/2021 11:20

@6543336787gesgvjhg very glad to hear your period has arrived and you can start stims tomorrow! Very exciting :) good luck and let us know how it goes!

@Lou8319 that sounds great to me! I've been told that the eggs grow quite a lot towards the end (last couple of days and after the trigger as well) so hopefully the others catch up :)

@Tarsette and @ZoZoeee123 good luck with the fertilisation numbers!

Peachthepiglet · 11/03/2021 12:42

@6543336787gesgvjhg good luck with your first injection. I did my first one (also Menopur) last night and if it offers you any reassurance, i hardly felt it. My partner appeared more traumatised than me by the whole thing. No symptoms or side effects yet other than the skin today feels a bit tender around the injection site but im sure it will take some time.

Tarsette · 11/03/2021 15:13

Good luck to all the ladies who have started taking meds or doing injections!

I heard back from my clinic re fertilisation and 16 of our 25 eggs fertilised. Another nerve racking 4 days to go until we find out how many made it to blast!

elsaesmeralda · 11/03/2021 15:27

@Tarsette great news. Got my fingers crossed for blasts 🤞🏻🤞🏻

elsaesmeralda · 11/03/2021 15:28

Anyone else bloated on the buserelin or is it just me? I look 5 months pregnant !

Peachthepiglet · 11/03/2021 16:00

@Tarsette amazing!!
