Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@Itsjustme2021 my period was 1 week late. So I was getting a little stressed about it. Yesterday I had the day off work so did a hitt workout, yoga, did some meditation and had a hot bath... all things that can bring on a period according to Google! I don't know the purpose of the scan either,
but this is my first IVF cycle. When are you due to start your stims?

@Narwhal88 thank you, I will definitely try to get hold of someone then. As Monday (when my scan should of been) will be day 3 of my cycle so see if I can keep that scan now instead of delaying for a week!

@beachbum85 I had to have a Covid test as well last week and even though I was sure I was negative, I still felt really stressed just before getting the result (negative luckily!). I don’t think I could beat to have this whole process delayed because of another random hurdle thrown at me!

@ZoZoeee123 oh that’s exciting! My egg collection should be Wed or Thur so almost the same! How many days of injections did you have and what did your scan show? I had another one this morning and there were 16 eggs over 11mm with the largest one at 16mm so I get to do another 2-3 days of injections, yay... I now have 3 injections each night (Gonal f, Menopur, cetrotide to prevent ovulation).

@Donimo yeah, that's great, you must be so relieved!! Have you managed to get your scan moved back to this week?

@Itsjustme2021 as @Narwhal88 said, I was told the baseline scan is to check if the lining is thin and everything is fine with the ovaries. If it's not too difficult to request, it seems like a useful scan, especially if it's your first cycle (it is mine).

@Tarsette that's a lot of injections! But also a nice number of follicles :) how are you feeling knowing egg collection is coming up so soon?
The COVID swab is an added stress... I've already had it so I'm not so worried about getting it myself but I keep thinking we're going to get a phonecall saying my partner has tested positive or something. Keeping my fingers crossed!! As you said, the last thing we need is another COVID delay...

@beachbum85, managed to speak to the clinic but they said to stay with scan on 15th. As apparently won't be enough time before Monday for my lining to be thin enough. Its fine, just wanted to know I am doing the right things so happy now I have spoken to someone. How are you doing?

Hope it's OK to join!

This is our first round of ICSI due to male factor infertility. I am due to take my first norethisterone tablets tonight with the aim of egg collection on the 2nd of April! Really nervous!

@Donimo how odd I wonder how they know it won't be thin enough? Maybe depends on cycle length? My period is only ever 1-2 days so if it's not thin by day 3 it won't ever be 😂

@Bethpalmer20 hi and welcome! We are also doing our first round of ICSI for male factor. I'm day 4 of norethisterone.

@Narwhal88 my period is only 2-3 days. So will probably be more or less by Monday! Unless it is longer this month due to bureselin. Also my period was a week later than it should of been... so that makes sense to delay the scan by a week. But really don't know! How are you getting on?

Hi @Bethpalmer20 we are also doing ICSI. But as well as male factor I have low AMH. We are now looking at egg retrieval 29th March, so just a little before you. How are you feeling?

@beachbum85-Yeah it is exciting! I have a lot of follicles-were worried about over stimulating but I had an extra blood test which was ok. Having another scan on Monday so hopefully will be ok. That's great that you are still on track for treatment. I'm really paranoid about getting Covid too as I don't want to not finish treatment!

@elsaesmeralda-glad you are feeling ok and the palpations didn't happen again.

@Tarsette-That's great news that your egg collection will be this week too! I have had 8 days of injections and doing 3 a day now too. I had 21 follicles with 3 nearly at the threshold but others were a bit smaller. They were worried about overstimulation but think that will be ok. That's great news about your number of eggs. Do you have another scan this week? I'm not very good with all the waiting as I'm really impatient!

@Donimo- Glad to hear your period has stated and glad you managed to speak to your clinic. That's good that you have a date for your scan now. Bet you are pleased to get started. Thank you for the well wishes. My scan went ok thanks. Lots of follicles growing- were a bit worried about over stimulating but hopefully should be ok for Wednesday. I have another scan Monday.

@Bethpalmer20-Welcome! We are doing ICSI too. Hope you are finding it all ok so far.

@Donimo I'm doing ok thanks, only day 4 of norethisterone but no side effects. Counting down the days to baseline! Worried my period won't come on time either, I'm normally so regular I'm worried the norethisterone will mess it up! My egg collection is scheduled for 29th March at the moment as well! It's my dads birthday which I see as a good sign so I don't want it moved! Transfer would then be on my brothers birthday on 3rd April!

@Donimo I'm glad you managed to speak to someone this morning and confirmed your dates. It's a pity we won't be going through it at the same time but obviously the team knows what's best :) I had some light bleeding for a few days after my usual period, so maybe it's the Buserelin but either way that extra week might be good.

@Bethpalmer20 welcome! Hope you're feeling good after your first tablet this evening!

@ZoZoeee123 glad to hear your bloods confirmed everything is going well and you're not rushing overstimulation! Are you planning a fresh transfer? Those really are great numbers :) I have low AMH so I'm expecting far less follicles but hoping that whatever my body can produce will be enough...

@ZoZoeee123 wow those are great numbers! Yes they made a good call to check your blood (probably for estrogen levels) to make sure there won’t be any OHSS! What does your clinic consider as the threshold in terms of follicle size? Mine wants 20mm

@Narwhal88 you're a little bit further ahead than me then, it's nice to have someone who's timings are roughly the same as mine! I'll be asking you for all the advice haha! I just saw your post about being worried norethisterone will mess your period up. I feel the same! I'm really Regular normally and worried its going to throw my body completely out and all my dates will get pushed back!

@donimo I'm not feel too bad at the moment actually! Definitely anxious (as expected) but also excited to feel like we are finally making some progress!

@beachbum85 Thanks, yes I’m starting my stims tonight. Eeek, feeling a bit nervous about doing this one but I will be fine once I’ve done it a couple of times. I have my 1st scan on Friday. How’s it all going for you so far?

@Tarsette @ZoZoeee123 that’s great news ladies, we are all pretty close, I have my egg collection tomorrow, trying to stay relaxed. At my scan I had 11 follicles 1 they think will be ‘overcooked’ as was 22mm on Friday, and 2 were still a little small so I had an additional day of stims that may get them up to size by tomorrow. I also have a large cyst on right ovary they are going to drain (only had 3 follicles that side, 8 on the left) so maybe more hiding in there but doubtful, so I’m hoping to get 8 mature, with transfer tentatively scheduled for Saturday if all goes well. I’m 43 and first cycle (private) so hoping to have a couple to freeze too but maybe asking a lot. I guess we’ll find out this week

@Hazza2021 good luck for your first day of stims. You’ll get the hang of the injections really quickly. The needle is tiny and it doesn’t hurt much!

Hi! This is a lovely group and thanks for having me in. I am due to for my first scan on Monday. Everything came so quickly after a long waiting. I had a call from the consultant on Thursday and my period started the same day and she booked me straight for this circle. I was not expecting this. I will be on short protocol. I am nervous and excited. Hope everything goes well. Good luck to us.

@beachbum85 Baseline is 16th March unless AF doesn't play ball! When's yours?

@Bethpalmer20 hopefully Norethisterone won't mess us up too much! I have been on it before in the past to delay periods but I can't remember how long it's taken for AF to arrive after I've stopped in the past.

@Tarsette My clinic wants 3 at least 18mm. It's interesting how everywhere is slightly different but almost the same. I'm still a bit worried about overstimulation. Hopefully we will both have our collection this week! x

@Narwhal88 how long did your clinic say they expect af to arrive after last norethisterone tablet (saw you mention few posts ago)? I think mine say 2-5 days, which will most likely be next weekend. When is your last tablet? Sorry if you've already said, struggling to keep up with all the posts! 😊

Things are fine for me so far... Still down regulating and waiting for my baseline scan to hopefully start stimulation. @Narwhal88 it's on Tuesday, so we're a week apart it seems!

@Margwit good luck for egg collection tomorrow! You're leading the pack :) and going in with a great number of follicles as well... It's it a problem if they're 'overcooked'? I assumed the bigger the better but I really have no idea. Let us know how it goes and I hope all with be well X

@Noirberry19 My clinic said 2-4 days and if AF hasn't arrived by scan date to let them know. AF was due 14th anyway before Norethisterone and I'm due to stop taking them on 11th. I checked my dates and last time I took norethisterone (for my honeymoon) AF arrived 3.5 days after stopping them. I did say I didn't see the point of taking them as I am never late for AF but they insisted.
@Donimo Period due 14th but stop norethisterone on 11th so we will see. Baseline scan is booked for 16th.

@beachbum85 you'll have to let me know what to expect! Good luck for Tuesday x
