Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@narwhal88

I hope it goes well. What nhs trust are you with?

How are you all doing?

ZoZoeee123 · 04/03/2021 09:50

@beachbum85 It was ok thanks. Got some follicles growing which is good and having another scan tomorrow. I'm hoping egg collection is next week. I'm feeling ok thanks. Just get a bit panicky if I am doing everything right! How are you getting on? What stage are you at? Sorry I get confused as to where everyone is at. Hope you are feeling ok too xx

Also, a general question. When people started stims did you get discharge as if you were ovulating? I started getting it yesterday (day 5 of stims). Sorry if that's TMI. Will ring the clinic later to check but I presume this is a normal reaction to the drugs? Just a bit worried this means my oestrogen is really high as I've read egg collection can be stopped if it is.

Hope everyone is getting on ok with everything xx

I had another scan today after 8 days of injections. I had 16 follicles growing (above 8mm) but my doctor thinks they are all growing à it slowly so has given me Menopur to add into my protocol and I might end up having to do 12 days of injections instead of the expected 10. Staring to get worried now. Has anyone else experienced slow growing eggs? Can it affect my chances of getting enough good quality ones? I have polycystic ovaries so normally respond really well....

elsaesmeralda · 04/03/2021 11:44

@ZoZoeee123 totally normal, I asked as tons of ewcm it's just your body doing it's thing !

@Tarsette try not to overthink, really great amount of follicles there and also good that they are the same sort of size, I'm sure the doctors know what they're doing 😊

Hazza2021 · 04/03/2021 11:45

@Tarsette I had slow growing follicles on my 1st round of IVF I got 12 as I only have one ovary, 7 were mature and 4 fertilised. I had one at day 5 and it ended up being my little boy who is now 14 months. I’m 11 days into buserelin and start my stims on Sunday for baby number 2.

Donimo · 04/03/2021 15:02

So still no sign of my period so called my clinic. They have put my baseline scan back a week now Sad. Which obviously moves my entire protocol back a week too. I know its only a week but had planned time off work and self isolation and child care for my daughter etc for it... now back to the drawing board Angry

@Orsh hope your period shows soon. Any signs? I completely know what you mean regarding the wait and unpredictable nature.

@Hazza2021 sorry to hear about your ovary but hoping your right one will make it up for you!

@ZoZoeee123 I have no experience of ICSI as this is my first cycle but we are doing ICSI too! Hope your scan goes well tomorrow.

@RazzleDazz1e I got weighed on my nurses consent appointment immediately prior to starting treatment.

@Tarsette sorry to hear about your scan but afraid I can't offer any advice to you.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 04/03/2021 16:06

Oh no @Donimo i hope it shows soon. That's so annoying. Gutted for you.

@Orsh hope your okay

@Hazza2021 stay positive you only need 1 good egg!

@ZoZoeee123 best of luck for tomorrow

Donimo · 04/03/2021 18:53

Hi everyone, I am just wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge about down regulation. As I posted earlier my period is delayed (a week late as of tomorrow) so my clinic has moved my scan back a week. I have since been over thinking everything and worried the bureselin injections have put me into perimenopause (switched off my ovaries too much). I say this as I have a low AMH of 3.5 (age of 35). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

elsaesmeralda · 04/03/2021 19:08

Sorry that's happened @Donimo ! What a stress for you. I don't know anything about down reg as this is my first time with buserelin but my clinic told me my period might be late so it seems like it's pretty common?

foodiefil · 04/03/2021 19:19

Have you found this thread @motherofkittens28 ? Xx

beachbum85 · 04/03/2021 19:24

I'm so sorry @Donimo that really sucks!! I'm afraid I have no advice but I saw a similar question about Buserelin on another thread yd or the day before and she also had her scan moved by a week, I think. Maybe it was the Feb/Mar thread but I'm not sure.
@Orsh how are you doing?

Sorry @Tarsette I can't help there either but glad to hear you have such a good number of follicles coming along!

And glad things are on track for you @ZoZoeee123! Good luck for your scan tomorrow :)
I'm down regulating atm with my baseline scan on Tuesday and then hopefully can start stims.

RedFaerieBoots · 04/03/2021 19:31

Hey guys really odd question but has anyone suffered from feeling cold after prostap? Have been utterly freezing all week like I just cannae get a heat unless I'm all wrapped up cosy with all the layers.

I mean do I feel the cold normally at times but its usually hands and feet and not always.

ZoZoeee123 · 04/03/2021 21:43

@elsaesmeralda Thank you! That's good to know. I just wasn't expecting it as nobody had said anything about that! x

@Donimo Thank you for the well wishes. I hope your period starts soon. Mine was super late when I was waiting to start. It was on day 41 in the end. I'm sorry I don't have experience of the down regulation. Hopefully you will find out more when you go for your scan. x

@PurpleUnicorn01Thank you for the well wishes! Hope you are getting on ok x

@beachbum85 Thank you :-). Glad you don't have long to wait until the baseline scan then. Hope it all goes well x

@RedFaerieBoots Sorry I don't have experience of prostap but I'm sure somebody on here will! Hope you are ok x

foodiefil · 04/03/2021 22:30

@IVFat43 xxx

elsaesmeralda · 05/03/2021 13:58

Hope everyone's doing okay ?
Day three of buserelin and I'm having palpitations, anyone else had this ?

Donimo · 05/03/2021 15:08

@elsaesmeralda no I haven't, although noticed that palpations are listed as a side effect. Maybe call your clinic for reassurance... especially means its almost the weekend x

beachbum85 · 05/03/2021 15:51

@elsaesmeralda I did notice my heart racing a few days into the Buserelin, but just for short bursts, and a few times over a couple of days. But yes as @Donimo said, it might be good to call the clinic if it's uncomfortable, just to be sure.

Thanks for the well-wishes @ZoZoeee123 - will keep you posted.
Had some blood tests and COVID swab at the hospital this morning... no results but it was good to visit the clinic together for the first time!

How is everyone? xx

ZoZoeee123 · 05/03/2021 16:49

@elsaesmeralda sorry to hear about the palpitations. I'm afraid I don't have any experience of that drug. Hopefully it is ok.

@beachbum85 That's great news that you got to go to the clinic together. Hope you are still on track for your baseline scan next week.

I'm hoping for egg collection on Wednesday. Hope everyone is doing ok? xx

beachbum85 · 05/03/2021 17:21

@ZoZoeee123 wow that's really exciting, egg collection is so close!! What did they say at your scan today?
Still on track here unless one of us tests positive for COVID... that would be quite shock!

@elsaesmeralda are you doing OK? xx

elsaesmeralda · 05/03/2021 17:25

Thanks ladies. I'm fine!! It is only for short bursts like you said @beachbum85 so sure it's nothing to worry about, these drugs eh the things we have to do!

beachbum85 · 05/03/2021 17:26

Totally @elsaesmeralda... and this is just the beginning!!

Donimo · 05/03/2021 23:12

So my period arrived this evening... one less thing to stress about. But now wondering if I need to move my baseline scan back to this coming week rather than wait till the week after. I am going to try to call the nurse in the morning as the clinic is open on Saturday mornings but only for egg transfers... so not sure how easy it will be to speak to someone. Does anyone know how long they like to leave it after starting your period to do your baseline scan?

@elsaesmeralda are you feeling any better?

@ZoZoeee123 how did your scan go? Good luck for Wednesday!

@beachbum85 fingers crossed for a negative covid swab, just an added worry isn't it!

Itsjustme2021 · 05/03/2021 23:37

@Donimo so happy for you. How many days late was it?
I’m so patiently waiting for mine, it’s 4 days late now. I’ve had all the period symptoms and now thy are almost all gone.
Also, my clinic never booked me for a baseline scan, when I asked them, they said due to c19, they are only booking patients with high risk of ohss but offered to give me one if I feel anxious about it. What do you ladies think? I genuinely don’t know if to or not. I tried to google the purpose of it but too many generic information. Please let me know your thoughts. :)

Narwhal88 · 06/03/2021 06:25

@Donimo my clinic said baseline should be day 2-4 of cycle.
@Itsjustme2021 my clinic aren't always doing baseline scans at the moment but only if it isn't your first cycle and you have had scans with them before. Is this your first ivf? If so it does seem odd. I think they need to check your lining is nice and thin and any issues like cysts, fluid etc.

elsaesmeralda · 06/03/2021 07:24

@Donimo I'm okay thanks, hadn't happened again since I mentioned it yesterday!
Great to hear your period finally arrived, one weight off I guess
