Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

Hey, not sure if its too late to join in? We are starting our first IVF cycle tomorrow- well taking Prostap injection tomorrow. We hadn't thought we were in until end March but apparently period started on clinic appt date so all systems go.

Bit excited and apprehensive. We were planning to start last year and have had a far longer wait than expected (although everything has been long and unexpected in this journey so far).

We are having to use donor sperm due to issues with DP. Also going private as NHS up here in Scotland only use in-house donors and there is a ridiculously long waiting list.

Currently working from home now until after 2ww ends so could do with a sounding board that isn't my DP Smile.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 27/02/2021 22:51

@CurbsideProphet that sounds great thanks Smile

elsaesmeralda · 28/02/2021 07:55

@RedFaerieBoots welcome!! 💕

RedFaerieBoots · 28/02/2021 09:39

@elsaesmeralda - thank you!

PurpleUnicorn01 · 28/02/2021 10:11

@RedFaerieBoots welcome Smile

RedFaerieBoots · 28/02/2021 10:32

@purpleUnicorn01 - thank you Smile

Because of Covid & cycle fitting in (so no space in clinic to give me injection) my DP has to give me the prostap injection today. Bit apprehensive. Been waiting for this for so long but really does feel like the point of no return. Is this a common feeling?

Donimo · 28/02/2021 15:10

@AnonymousXXIX attached is the info my clinic gave me when I had my AMH tested. But its not a published thing it is just the clinics individual findings.

@Orsh still no sign of my period... I have another week for it to start! Not long for you to wait now then! How are you feeling?

Hi @RedFaerieBoots glad to have you join us. When is your anticipated egg retrieval date? I think how you are feeling is normal, even now I am a week into treatment doesn't feel real yet.. guessing it becomes bit more real when you get to all the scans etc. How did you get on with your first injection? I am not on prostrap but having to do all my own injections each day. Over a week into taking bureselin now and into a routine with it!

@beachbum85 and @Hazza2021 how are you feeling on your injections now you are a week in. I am getting stressed that my period was due on Friday and absolutely no sign of it showing yet! Only have a week left for it to arrive!

AnonymousXXIX · 28/02/2021 17:04

Thanks @Donimo!

I am going to ask them about this again when I have a chance because I am much less optimistic about my 11 than that consultant was!

Hazza2021 · 28/02/2021 17:14

@Donimo l’ve not been too bad I had a bad head yesterday but I’m not sure if it was the injection or my period. I feel better today though. I’m sure it will be here before your scan. Try not to worry but I know that’s easier said than done. How are your injections going?

RedFaerieBoots · 28/02/2021 17:34

@donimo - thank you! Think they are estimating somewhere around the 22nd-24th March. Which clashes with a past loss anniversary so have mixed feelings. Would rather it wasn't 23rd but if it is then what will be will be.

First injection was hilarious. Was expecting it to hurt given the size of needle but it was little more than a scratch. DP was more nervous about hurting me. The cat looked horrified and avoided DP for a few hours Grin.

Not sure if its side effects but so far have tried to put antibacterial wipes in fridge and make stock up with cold water...

Crazydoglady123 · 28/02/2021 18:15

Hey ladies, hope it's okay to join. I have my consultation for starting IVF in a couple of weeks but I wondered if anyone has gone with any of the Access Fertility packages and are they worth it?

PurpleUnicorn01 · 28/02/2021 18:38

@Crazydoglady123

Welcome Smile

beachbum85 · 28/02/2021 19:08

@Donimo I'm still pretty OK thanks! Yd I was exhausted all day and could barely peel myself off the sofa, but today I'm much better. I have some period-like cramps, but no sign of it yet! How are you? Hope you're feeling a bit less cranky after the weekend, and fingers crossed that your period will show soon.
@Orsh I'm also 28-31 days with CD1 due tomorrow!

@RedFaerieBoots welcome! We were the same before the first injection - the night before my partner looked at me really serious and said: you do realise what we're getting ourselves into here, right? From tomorrow, there's no going back... But we're into our routine too now and looking forward to what's coming up. I'm glad your first injection went well :) your cat's reaction got me laughing :D

@hopefulhel I'm glad you're feeling better and rested!
@CurbsideProphet thanks for the recommendation, I've started following her!
And @Crazydoglady123 welcome!

ForeverHopeful17 · 28/02/2021 19:20

Welcome @Crazydoglady123

I'm currently doing the multi-cycle package with Access Fertility and In my opinion I think it's totally worth it. Technically you will be overpaying if you are lucky enough to have a live birth first time round however I think the peace of mind you get knowing that if the first transfer is unsuccessful you still have more chances at no additional cost (except medication) is what makes it worth it.

hopefulhel · 28/02/2021 19:27

@beachbum85 thanks yesterday yes the first day that I felt better was very sore for a few days. Will update you all on Tuesday when I get the call from the clinic

RedFaerieBoots · 28/02/2021 20:20

@Crazydoglady123 - welcome!

We are using the Multi Cycle Access Fertility package. Worked out much cheaper. Quite simple to set up as well. It doesn't include drugs though. So we paid £1,138 for drugs as well.

@beachbum85 - thank you, its good to know its completely normal. The cat seems to have forgiven DP. Glad it made you laugh. To be fair her reaction made us laugh which was definitely needed.

Freya2015 · 28/02/2021 21:34

Hellooo my lovely ladiesss

I have some good news i got a call from my NHS clinic on Friday to start taking northesterone to induce my period and the ball will be rolling once i get my periods 🥳

PurpleUnicorn01 · 28/02/2021 22:03

@Freya2015 that's fantastic!!!!

Crazydoglady123 · 28/02/2021 22:09

Thanks ladies! @ForeverHopeful17 that's the package without a refund, right? Wow, the drugs are more than I expected.

Itsjustme2021 · 28/02/2021 22:38

Hi ladies,
Just a general question, I’ll be taking Buserelin for 30 days before starting my stimulation injections. I’ve had a nosey and I see that’s longer than average....anyone else on 30 days?

Donimo · 28/02/2021 22:55

@Itsjustme2021 are you sure its 30 days until you start your stimulation injections and not 30 days in total? I am taking bureselin until my baseline scan on 8th March which will be 16 days. Then if all ok stating stimulation meds but also continue with bureselin for approx 12 days

@beachbum85 and @Hazza2021 Ive been having some nausea and fatigue for last few days Sad. Trying not to stress abut period! Glad your both feeling a bit better today.

@RedFaerieBoots I'm sorry about your loss. My egg retrieval will be at a similar time as will a few others. So hopefully you will have a little support here.

Welcome @Crazydoglady123

@hopefulhel good luck for your update on Tuesday

Orsh · 01/03/2021 07:25

@Hazza2021 your numbers were still good and you had the best result of it, your little boy :) I hope they will adjust the meds well with your earlier scan time and you will have the same success as last time.

@RedFaerieBoots I am also familiar with the long waiting, but the good thing is that it is starting soon finally :) I haven't started any meds yet, but supposed to do so this month. Reading about your cat made me laugh 😄. For me it took about 20minites to do my first injection when I did IUI, then I realized that it didn't hurt, so by day 3-4 it was quick and easy.

@hopefulhel I am glad you feel better. Sending lots of positive energy your way for great news tomorrow. Good luck!

@Donimo, @beachbum85 I felt very heavy yesterday and had some cramps as well as lower back pain, etc. Really feels like AF can show any minute.
Last week I got a call from the clinic, that as they just re-started the IVFs they might have a few available spots to start stimulation straight away (no down reg) so if that will be the case, I could start with the scan straight away on CD4. I would prefer it to be on a Friday, as that's my day off at work. So I feel excited and nervous at the same time what they will say.
How are you Both feeling today?

Tarsette · 01/03/2021 16:35

Hello ladies, can I join? I have started stims (300 ui of Gonal F) and my egg collection is planned for March 8th. I will then have any resulting blasts PGT tested and go for a FET with the best ones in mid April.

I have been on this journey for a while. I have a 3 year old daughter from my first IVF and started trying for number 2 in July 2019. Since then, I have had 4 failed FET’s, including 2 chemicals, hence the PGT testing. But my main issue is my thin lining, which I am usually thankfully able to thicken thanks to a low-ish dose of Gonal F.

I had my first scan today (after the baseline one) on day 7. I have 14 follicles growing at this point. I am 41 so was quite pleased with the result. Next scan is on Thursday. I look forward to following all your journeys!

RedFaerieBoots · 01/03/2021 17:17

@Tarsette - welcome. Your post about the 14 follicles makes me very hopeful. I'm 41 as well.

@Donimo - Thank you. It was an ex but the early losses on this journey made that one even harder. I actually thought it was my issue initially.

Glad my cat has made everyone laugh as much as well did. She is an affectionate nosy wee madam and probably would be quite chuffed with herself if she knew Grin

ZoZoeee123 · 01/03/2021 17:20

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to join this thread as I started my injections 2 days ago for my first cycle of IVF. Not really sure what to expect yet! Waiting for a scan on Wednesday. Hope you are all getting on ok on your own journeys. xx
