@indub that was me too with the full bladder 😂 the nurse was like “do you have a full bladder” and I just said “ohh yeah, you’re not running late are you?!”

@foodiefil those numbers look good and I’m not surprised they want to book in the EC soon, when was it planned for? I think they normally advise the trigger and book in the EC when there are 3 over 17mm and you’re very close.

foodiefil · 04/02/2021 11:07

@Gardenlady543 the EC is booked in for next Wednesday. So I would have 4 more days of menpur.

thirteen92 · 04/02/2021 11:07

Sorry I’ve been quiet! So we made it to transfer yesterday. I have a 3BB blast onboard. My other two blasts weren’t good enough quality to transfer unfortunately. I can’t believe it’s all resting on this 1 splodge (I’ve named it that lol)

So today I’m 1dp5dt. I keep feeling crampy which I’m worried about and don’t know how much of it is in my head!

I relaxed all day yesterday, today I’ve just been on a walk with my dog. Trying to keep the blood flowing!

foodiefil · 04/02/2021 11:10

@thirteen92i like splodge! wishing you lots of love and luck x

MF1981 · 04/02/2021 11:14

@foodiefil they look good numbers to me! Good luck!

MF1981 · 04/02/2021 11:15

@thirteen92 I had some cramping the day of transfer and the next day but then it calmed down - I think it’s just from being poked about a bit. Good luck!

MF1981 · 04/02/2021 11:16

@Gardenlady543 my clinic were running late so I had to empty and then re-fill as it was going to be a 40 mins wait! They kept bringing me tea and water!

Gensola · 04/02/2021 11:28

@Gardenlady543 @MF1981 I am waiting now outside the clinic with a very full bladder and praying they aren’t running late!!

@foodiefil I couldn’t have a fresh transfer because it made me so poorly, they got 24/25 eggs but only 11 fertilised and we got two blasts which were frozen. They said that over stimulation sometimes does lead to less good quality eggs. I’m sure you will be fine, there’s always ways around this stuff! Smile

Gardenlady543 · 04/02/2021 11:43

@foodiefil that’s quite a long way to go with your follicles close to being ready, can they bring your partners procedure forward? I don’t know much about it, do they normally do the procedure the day before the EC? my clinic advised me to stop the stims and take the trigger the night that I had 3x17mm follicles, and then the EC is 36 hours after the trigger, so there would still be time to schedule it all in, if your clinic can find the space. If not can they freeze your eggs and then thaw and fertilize when the sperm is available?

@thirteen92 congrats on being PUPO, I had my transfer yesterday as well!

@Gensola good luck, I hope everything goes well! And fingers crossed you won’t have to wait too long with a full bladder!

indub · 04/02/2021 11:47

@hopeful182 interesting the differences! I've had so many bloods I've named my favourite veins. Did u ask them about your OHSS concerns anyway?

foodiefil · 04/02/2021 11:48

@Gardenlady543
I think it is too. They're calling me between 2-4pm to let me know. I'm not sure if they can - the whole treatment timetable was built around his procedure. But yes the procedure is done the day before. So our schedule is currently tuesday for him and wednesday for EC for me then if all went well the following monday (15th) for ET.
Can i ask what the trigger is like?

Gensola · 04/02/2021 12:06

@foodiefil the trigger is fine, no different really to the other injections, if you’ve been injecting?

Transfer is all done and I’m PUPO! They said the embryo had improved in quality since defrosting (it was only average before) and is now top quality and growing really well, already hatched and ready to implant. So feeling really hopeful. We saw it going into the womb on the screen, so amazing to watch it made me feel emotional!

Gardenlady543 · 04/02/2021 12:08

@foodiefil I mean the clinic should be used to scheduling these things. It’s really hard to predict when an EC needs to happen so they need to plan around you, rather than your partner since the date of EC depends on your response, does your partner need to do anything specific in the days before the procedure? if not their scheduling seems to be about when they have availability for your partner, rather than clinical need. When it comes to timing the EC they can only estimate a window, I ended up only needing 8 days of stims, so from my first scan on day 6 things happened really quickly!

The trigger is HCG and your clinic will give you a very specific time to take it. I drew mine up and gave it to myself while I was in a work meeting, so I’m sure you’ll be fine with it, so don’t worry about that.

foodiefil · 04/02/2021 12:11

@Gensola yes have been injecting. buserelin and then menopur and buserelin.

@Gardenlady543 yeah you're absolutely right they should be ready for this kind of thing - which I'm sure they are! I hope things do happen faster! It is 8 days for me today actually.

The only side effects I've had have been headaches on buserelin for one week a couple of weeks ago, that's pretty much it so hopefully the trigger will follow suit ...

Gardenlady543 · 04/02/2021 12:11

@Gensola congrats on being PUPO! My embryo did the exact same thing and hatched after they thawed it, I think that’s a good thing, because it’s more fragile once hatched so best that it is transferred soon after, rather than frozen in a hatched state, that’s from what I’ve read anyway!

Gardenlady543 · 04/02/2021 12:12

@foodiefil oh don’t worry about side effects with it, it’s the same hormone that is produced when pregnant, I didn’t notice any symptoms, except a bit of a strange taste in my mouth (which may not have been related).

kikisparks · 04/02/2021 12:18

@thirteen92 @Gensola congrats on being PUPO!

@foodiefil I’m sure your clinic will know what to do but I’ve heard it’s possible to coast a patient for a few days where OHSS is a concern (basically stop stims but still take any other drugs) so they might do that? Studies have shown that doing it doesn’t affect live birth rates.

kikisparks · 04/02/2021 12:21

I wasn’t coasted as such but they did need to tell me not to take menopur the day of the trigger because my estradiol blood levels were too high, so I only had 7 days of stims and triggered on day 8.

MF1981 · 04/02/2021 12:48

Great news @Gensola!!

Tarsette · 04/02/2021 13:10

@hopeful182 if you’re feeling bloated but no throwing up, that shouldn’t prevent a transfer. I had OHSS and there was definitely lots of throwing up involved! Have you weighed yourself? Another sign of OHSS is your weight suddenly shooting up (by 2kg or more). My clinic also used 20´000 ui of estrogen as a cutoff point to des idées whether to teenager or not but that’s not much help if they didn’t take blood...

@Gardenlady543 congrats on being PUPO! That sounds very promising! I also went overboard with water last time and then my dr was 45 minutes late, I almost died on that table!

Ovulation day is today for me and it’s a bit of a strange one: because i get stims to thicken my lining but not for egg collection, I get given the trigger and then they let me ovulate naturally. But I have like 15 follicles so it’s super painful! I’m drinking tons of coconut water... 5 days until transfer!

Gardenlady543 · 04/02/2021 13:28

That sounds interesting @Tarsette what kind of cycle are you having?

Tarsette · 04/02/2021 14:20

@Gardenlady543 my issue is with thin uterine lining (everything else is fine). So I get 10 days of stims to thicken it (stims get your body to produce more natural estrogen, the artificial version didn’t seem to work for me), followed by trigger shot, natural ovulation and FET transfer 5 days later. So it’s a strange hybrid between an fresh and frozen cycle in terms of the medication I have to take!

Gardenlady543 · 04/02/2021 14:59

@Tarsette ah that explains why you have elements of a fresh and frozen cycle! Have you had this kind of cycle before? So the stims have produced a lot of follicles and you’ll be ovulating them naturally, I hope it’s not too uncomfortable when that happens. My friend had premature ovulation in a collection cycle and she said she knew exactly when it happened.

It sounds like a good plan, your clinic much be good at adapting, I’m not sure mine would come up with that kind of plan. I’m not good with the meds either, I reacted to progesterone and then vomited with estradiol, if this cycle isn’t successful I’ll be trying a natural FET cycle next time.

foodiefil · 04/02/2021 15:00

Clinic have rang and I'm having another scan on Saturday morning with a view to do the PESA on Monday and the EC on Tuesday. So that will hopefully mean all going well it's ET on Saturday ? They haven't said yet

Gardenlady543 · 04/02/2021 15:09

@foodiefil I’m glad they could move things forward, I personally would push for a scan tomorrow, unless they’re giving you something to stop them growing too much (I don’t know much about this but @kikisparks mentioned it). Tuesday seems quite far away when you are pretty much ready for the trigger now. Does your clinic shut on a Sunday by any chance? Because it seems like they need 2 days in a row and unless they do his procedure tomorrow after the weekend is the earliest point. I don’t see why these clinics aren’t open 7 days a week. On that note it’s usually a day 5 transfer, so that will be an ET on the Sunday.
