Sorry to hear this @esfran85

Thank you all for the very kind words BlushBlushBlush

Great news @IVFat43!

@Gensola I’m doing ok thanks. The wait is loooonnng though! I’m 6dp5dt now and not really any symptoms of note. Transfer was absolutely fine. The bit I found most uncomfortable was once the catheter was in place the embryologist goes to get the embryos in their little catheter and you have to wait for them to do all the checks. Then once they’re in they check the catheter to make sure the embryo isn’t still in there. All the while you’re feeling a tad uncomfortable. I went a bit light headed when they were done and told me I could sit up so definitely take your time. I lay there for a few mins and made small talk which was a bit awkward! Otd is next Wednesday. Good luck - let us know how it goes.

Hi Ladies I'm hoping I can jump in this thread abs get some advice along the way.

I'm waiting for FET (hopefully this month) I've tried naturally twice but it's not worked out and been a nightmare so I'm now on buserelin each day. Does anyone know the timeline I'd be looking at for transfer? I started buserlin Monday 25th Jan, and I'm booked in for a scan next Tuesday 9th after my period stops.

Xxx

thetallgirl · 03/02/2021 15:34

@Melissa1983 sounds like you're the same dates as me, @Blessing12 and @GingerBrummie We all have our scans on Tuesday! We're all on the Feb/March IVF thread.

I haven't been given a date for EC or transfer, but I remember the Dr saying at initial consultation that if everything went to plan, then EC would be on 22Feb with transfer 5 days later. My first Buserelin injection was the 25 Jan too. However, if you're FET then of course you won't be doing EC, but hopefully that gives you an idea.

cher1981 · 03/02/2021 16:28

@esfran85 I'm sorry to hear your news. As the others have said, be sure to take your time and look after yourself.

@indub Thank you, that's really helpful :)

How's everyone coping emotionally at the minute? I'm 5dp5dt now and cried today in a meeting with my boss! I just feel very hormonal, tired and bleh.

jonrik · 03/02/2021 16:39

I'm so sorry to hear that @esfran85.

@cher1981, oh dear! Was it over nothing? Don't worry, been there! Does your boss know about your journey? I'm 2dp5dt and I keep googling when people start seeing bfp's (unsurprising answer: NOT YET! Of course) and what I should or shouldn't be feeling. I feel nothing. No cramps, not emotional, no twinges. I logically know this means absolutely nothing but equally I cannot drag myself away from reading old forums and looking at other people's pregnancy test pictures. Ridiculous.

cher1981 · 03/02/2021 16:44

@jonrik I just had a bad day at work, you know one of those where everything seemingly goes wrong and my head felt all fuzzy and 'not with it'. So by the time my meeting rolled around, I was ready to burst ha. But yep my manager is aware and was really kind about it. You sound like me, I keep googling '5dp5dt' and trying to make other people's BFP symptoms apply to me ... cackle. Ugh, it's a mare isn't it?!

Gardenlady543 · 03/02/2021 16:47

I’ve had my transfer so I’m officially PUPO! During my fresh transfer the staff said my bladder wasn’t full enough so I really went for it this time, I was so uncomfortable, but everyone that walked by the screen said “wow what a great image!”. This is my most viable blastocyte (my fresh cycle had to use the least viable as I was reacting to progesterone). The embryologist said that it was hatching when frozen and when they thawed it, it then fully hatched. She said that this was a very good thing, but looking at some of the literature it seems to go either way, I think it’s a good thing that it hatched once thawed as they’re more fragile once hatched. Now for the waiting game!

cher1981 · 03/02/2021 16:49

@Gardenlady543 Wahoooo!! That's great news :) Make sure to have a relaxing night and I have everything crossed for you.

Gardenlady543 · 03/02/2021 16:54

Thanks @cher1981 sorry to hear about your day at work, I think having insight into how you’re feeling (as you clearly do) is so important. My managers (both older men) are aware that I’m having IVF and err on the side of caution when it comes to being sensitive! If things really got to you then it’s a good thing that your manager saw that, the worst case would be you feeling awful and them piling a load of work on. I hope you’re feeling better now Flowers

kikisparks · 03/02/2021 17:04

Congrats on being PUPO @Gardenlady543 it all sounds very positive!

@cher1981 sorry about your bad day at work, I’m having so many fuzzy headed work days at the moment, I had a meeting today where I just started talking but forgot to introduce everyone and they didn’t all know each other, someone more senior had to interrupt me and I felt a bit stupid. I know it’s not a big deal at all but today I’m beating myself up about everything. Don’t be embarrassed about crying, you’re only human, I’ve cried speaking to my boss before too. I’m a googler as well, it gets a bit obsessive sometimes and I really have to force myself to put the phone away 😣 I think it’s about trying to find some comfort when my feelings are overwhelming, but of course google doesn’t really help!

@MF1981 that’s quite a long time until your OTD, mine was at 10dp5dt in my fresh cycle, is it a frozen transfer you’re having and is it longer because it’s a FET? I don’t know when my OTD will be yet but don’t know if i could wait until 13dp5dt, in saying that I didn’t wait til OTD last time either 😬 Good luck!

I’ve got my transfer date, 12 February, hopefully any cold symptoms are gone by then, I’m drinking lots of hot lemon and ginger! I’m pleased it’s a Friday as it means I’ll have a couple of days to relax after rather than straight back to work.

MF1981 · 03/02/2021 17:17

@kikisparks I’m not sure why it’s so long as I’ve seen other people testing earlier and getting positive results. But I’ve booked that day and the rest of the week off now so I’m going to stick to that date if I possibly can. So tempting to test at the weekend!

kikisparks · 03/02/2021 18:15

@MF1981 you’re a stronger woman than me, that’s great to have the week off though, the main reason I tested early last time was so I could test at the weekend, I thought I couldn’t face a negative and then having to work.

I also forgot to say in my update above the embryologist told me my Frosties are day 5s, I always thought they were day 6s but it turns out they were frozen on day 5 but I was only told about it on day 6!

IVFat43 · 03/02/2021 18:18

@Gardenlady543 great news 😃.. happy PUPO! ..I have such a weak bladder, I’m dreading that so you must have done so well...yay 😅

Thank you @MF1981 - fingers crossed for you 🤞

@kikisparks Wished I had a transfer date, mine won’t be until March or possibly April.. hope you feel better soon x

MF1981 · 03/02/2021 18:24

@kikisparks ha well I’ve not got there yet! I may cave! Having some light cramps this evening - not sure if good or bad 🤷‍♀️

hopeful182 · 03/02/2021 20:40

Hi ladies I was wondering if anyone could help, or at least pass on their experiences if they were willing.
I am currently onto my 3rd and final round of ivf, the past 2 we have had embryo quality issues and have only ended up with a couple ok ones, and 1 frostie which didn't survive the thaw. This round I had 21 follicles and was given the HCG trigger shot this time round, I suffer from PCOS and previously had 35+ follicles so couldn't have that trigger shot.
Well, I had egg collection on Monday and I!am in agony, I think it is mild OHSS as I only have the pain. Now what I was wondering was did anyone else go through with a fresh transfer anyway? How did you feel? Its just I am worried that out of the 13 we currently have fertilised, that may go right down as it has done in the past and I miss a chance of that makes sense.

Gensola · 03/02/2021 22:23

@hopeful182 I was like that after my Egg Coll - in agony, could hardly walk and peeing was torture. I could hardly eat and was so bloated and sore. I also passed a lot of fluid which they said was from the follicles on my ovaries. It took me a week to feel better.

Gensola · 03/02/2021 22:24

Sorry I hit send too soon! I really wouldn’t do a fresh transfer with OHSS symptoms as the stats seem to suggest it doesn’t work so well. But go with what your clinic say! Flowers

indub · 03/02/2021 22:55

@hopeful182 have they checked your oestrogen level? That is usually quite predictive. Everyone has pain after EC but varying amounts. The other symps of bloating, swelling abdomen, puffy limbs, difficulty breathing / easily puffed out would be more specific.

indub · 03/02/2021 23:13

@Gardenlady543 Wonderful - hatched has a great chance of success from what I've seen. They're all ready to latch onto mum the moment they're in. Congrats on perfect bladder filling. Grin I'm always dry as a prune or bursting. Last time my doc was running late and I was hopping foot to foot so the nurse got me to pee but 'try and keep some'... is that something people can do?! I can't.

@kikisparks Day 5 freeze is great. They've reached their milestones earlier than Day 6 freeze so developing well.

@cher1981 Don't beat yourself up. You're on a hormonal rollercoaster and it's hard to focus on work when so much is going on in your mind and emotions all the time. Good that your manager is kind. Hope you get a good rest and very good news soon.

hopeful182 · 04/02/2021 07:03

@Gensola thanks for that, the last 2 times have been fine, but this time has hit me hard. I must admit I've woken up today feeling more like myself.
I'm just worried that this time the eggs seem to be of better quality and don't want to miss out on a chance of it working and the fact the last time my 1 egg was frozen it didn't survive, this is my last go and I'm bricking it that because I feel like this I might all have been for nothing.

@indub my clinic has never checked any hormone levels at all. It might be due to being NHS but I've never had blood tests at all. Strange as on here it seems as though some people get checked for alot of things I don't even know about haha. Xx

foodiefil · 04/02/2021 10:03

Hi all. I’ve just been for my stims scan and they said they might bring my egg collection forward. Dr asked me to write down the measurements. What do you think? This is my first cycle.

IVF January/February 2021? continued
Gensola · 04/02/2021 10:41

@foodiefil I’d say you’re at risk of OHSS - those are very like my numbers and I got it quite badly. They’re probably right to bring your date forward. They also can’t use follicles past 23-25 so they’ll probably be worried about that 20 getting too big. Good luck Flowers

foodiefil · 04/02/2021 11:03

@Gensola ahh bugger. we're icsi and my dh's appt is tuesday for his sperm retrieval (PESA) so I'm not even sure if they could do this.

how are you now? what happened? xx
