@unknownscot so, so sorry to hear your news. Please take the time to grieve and digest all of this. It is such a cruel process...

@Birdladybird really sorry to hear your news as well. I hope having a few months off will be beneficial. I took 4 months off after 2 failed cycles and an operation this past Summer and it was really nice not to be constantly thinking about IVf and monitoring everything I eat or drink...

I completely agree it’s so important to have a backup plan. There is nothing worse than getting bad news and not knowing where to go from there.

Interesting to hear the US no longer grades embryos. I spent so much time worrying about the grades of mine. If I get to transfer I will have a 3bb and 5bc put back in which doesn’t seem too promising but I guess if grades are out, I can relax!

I had another scan today and my lining is being really weird. It was between 6,6 and 7,7 mm depending on where she measured it Hmm I’m having another day of stims and then another scan tomorrow. I also have to have blood taken to check if my estrogen levels are not too high for a transfer (due to the risk of OHSS). So many hurdles to get over before I can even have a transfer!

kikisparks · 01/02/2021 15:13

Congrats on being PUPO @jonrik and good much for the progesterone test tomorrow @Gardenlady543.

jonrik · 01/02/2021 15:22

Thanks ladies, very excited. The grading bit is interesting - I wasn't told what grade anything is. They just said "two are great, three need a bit longer" but nothing really regarding quality scores or sizing of lining. I didn't press it either as I feel they'd tell me if they'd be worried about anything and I'm a notorious googler and would drive myself crazy trying to analyse what chances I'd have based on the grades. From my perspective any embryo can all turn into a little cute chubby baby, whatever grade they are.

kikisparks · 01/02/2021 15:22

@Tarsette my embryo grades aren’t great- my fresh embryo was a perfect 5 day 4AA but my Frosties are 6 day 5BB (which my clinic still think of as good quality), 4BC and 4CC. I’ve been really focused on the grades because I tend to obsess about things with the IVF process but it is very interesting about the US no longer grading. I’ll just be happy if mine survive the thaw!

Hope your lining plays ball and you get good news at the scan tomorrow.

Gensola · 01/02/2021 16:20

@MF1981 have you had your transfer? Smile mine is scheduled for Thursday this week - praying the embryo defrosts ok!

@Birdladybird I wanted to say I’m so sorry - my DH is 56 so I know how you feel. It’s totally shit to feel you’re up against time as well as everything else Flowers

hopefully21 · 01/02/2021 16:46

Quick question for anyone doing a medicated fet when do you start the femTab/estrogen tablets?

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 01/02/2021 16:56

@hopefully21 I did a medicated FET without down regulation and was told to start estradiol on the first day of my natural bleed, I think some clinics say day 2. I’m not sure about FET with downregulation.

hopefully21 · 01/02/2021 17:18

@Gardenlady543 thanks! I have done it twice before but couldn't remember..think I blocked it out. I think I started on day 2.

Hopeforsuccess · 01/02/2021 17:26

@Birdladybird and @unknownscot i am so so sorry for both of your news. Please do take some time to process and rest.
@Gardenlady543 and @cher1981 i felt i was reading my own post. I am having a fet but i am planning for next steps as i am not feeling very hopeful!
Maybe cautiously optimistic will
Work better!

Gardenlady543 · 01/02/2021 17:32

Smile @Hopeforsuccess join us in the pessimistic crew lol! Fingers crossed for us all, as soon as I’m a few days after the transfer I’m sure I will have convinced myself it worked!

cher1981 · 01/02/2021 17:43

@Hopeforsuccess Yep I started oestrogen on day 2 of this medicated cycle also :) I'm now 3dp5dt and still in the convinced it's not worked camp ha.

MF1981 · 01/02/2021 18:06

@Gensola yes I had it on Thursday last week so am on day 4 now. You’re a week behind me - exciting times!! Fingers crossed for you.

Hopeforsuccess · 01/02/2021 18:06

@Gardenlady543 and @cher1981 i wish both of you the best and sending lots and lots of positivity! Lets all be cautiously optimistic with this! I know i am scared to death but still have some hope!

RichmondLady1981 · 01/02/2021 20:17

@hopefully21 thanks for tagging me! Really appreciate it. Congrats on your results. Everything crossed.

So sorry to those who’ve had bad news. Echoing what others are saying... be kind to yourselves. 💕

RichmondLady1981 · 01/02/2021 20:18

Pls May I ask what your side affects of Norethisterone included!

I feel sluggish and just want to eat everything on site! Super bloated tummy. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance. X

indub · 02/02/2021 04:02

How annoying for you @Tarsette - hope it sorts itself out on the thicker end all round.

My condolences @Birdladybird and @unknownscot. It's awful news sorry. Sad

Fingers crossed for you @cher1981 and @gardenlady543! I'm 3dp5dt and feeling pretty relaxed. Waiting for later in the week to weep over some pee sticks I think. Confused

hopefully21 · 02/02/2021 06:25

@RichmondLady1981 no worries at all. Thank you! We have our review appointment in 2 weeks so we will see what the doc says. I managed to get an appointment with another doc. I just don't gave time to wait around fir 5 weeks for our doc.

I felt really tired and emotional on those tablets last time. I wa a bit on edge. Some ladies got zero side effects.

OP posts:
RichmondLady1981 · 02/02/2021 06:36

@hopefully21 well done on getting another appointment.... time drags doesn’t it! I’m excited for you.

I honestly feel awful on these tabs. Bloated, sicky and I woke up at about 4 am having some really dark thoughts. Tell me, are these pills meant to do anything to help with the process or are they purely given to patients for timing and scheduling purposes? Anyone know?

hopefully21 · 02/02/2021 06:48

@RichmondLady1981 I woke up a lot on them too and when I did sleep I had strange dreams. Iam dreading taking them again. Hang in there! I think thry are used for scheduling purposes! Not 100% sure though.

OP posts:
RichmondLady1981 · 02/02/2021 07:02

@hopefully21 sorry to hear that. if I have to do another cycle, I’m going to request I don’t go on them! I’ve read that on short cycles (like I’m doing) you don’t need to go on pills, that you can go with the flow of your natural cycle. I really need to ask more questions when I’m with the specialist! 🤦🏼‍♀️

hopefully21 · 02/02/2021 07:20

Yep I might do the same @RichmondLady1981

OP posts:
kikisparks · 02/02/2021 07:22

@RichmondLady1981 I believe norethisterone is purely for scheduling purposes, I get a lot of digestive side effects on them and hate having to take extra medication, the less the better!

On the subject of so many meds, I’d love to do a short protocol FET, I had a short fresh cycle and this long protocol FET is taking forever, but my clinic didn’t give me the choice, I might ask them about it if this doesn’t work. So much stuff has been put into my body in the last 6 weeks, an injection, pills, nasal spray and all being well soon also pessaries, I really don’t like my body being so messed about but trying not to think too much about it.

Doremifasol · 02/02/2021 07:50

Ah I did wonder why has it gone so quiet on our old thread! Missed 4 pages of conversations- will catch up later :)

Just to quickly share- I was testing out my triger ( Ovitrelle 250) with internet strip tests, I am now 12 days past triger and those tests are now almost showing nothing. However, I also stupidly bought FRER and did one yesterday afternoon at 3pm, faint line appeared. Did one this morning much stronger line. Now let the agony begins. I know I know my own fault. I didn't test at the same time of the day and completely aware it still could be leftovers of triger. Picture attached! Top one is from this morning.

jonrik · 02/02/2021 08:12

Ohhhhhh how exciting @Doremifasol!! Tentative congratulations!
I only had my transfer yesterday but I know there is a no way I'll be able to wait nearly two weeks. I didn't get an hcg shot at transfer so I'm starting with a negative one. I'll wait to the weekend but that's it. Daily from then I reckon 😂

Doremifasol · 02/02/2021 08:26

@jonrik ah thanks!😀 my will power is almost non existent when it comes to testing...🤷🏻‍♀️
