@MF1981 I'm sorry I don't know. Hope someone comes along soon who can advise x

Folklore9074 · 14/02/2021 10:42

@MF1981 Sorry to hear this, sounds worrying. Do you clinic have an out of hours number? Flowers

Gardenlady543 · 14/02/2021 11:15

@MF1981 can you call your clinic? This would happen on a Sunday when most places are shut, for reassurance I’ve seen a lot of people talk about spotting being quite normal and going on to have completely healthy babies at the end of it. Also are you using progesterone vaginally, because that can cause spotting.

kikisparks · 14/02/2021 11:19

@MF1981 I’d call your clinic if it is open, if your clinic isn’t open your local early pregnancy unit might be?

MF1981 · 14/02/2021 11:42

Yes I’m using cyclogest vaginally and it did feel a little awkward going in last night weirdly enough. My clinic don’t open on a Sunday but have an out of hours on call doctor for emergencies. I’ve also heard it can be quite normal but having never been pregnant before I don’t know what’s normal and what’s not.

Tarsette · 14/02/2021 11:51

@IVFat43 I completely understand it felt like falling off a cliff. I had a similar outcome with my first cycle (24 eggs and only 4 made it to day 3) ans I remember being soooo upset. But there is still a fairly big chance the 2 remaining will be normal and that others make it on day 6. Hope you get good news today!

@foodiefil good luck with your transfer today!

@MF1981 I’ve also heard of many ladies getting spotting in the early days of pregnancy. As long as it stays light I’m sure you’ll be ok. But if you do get a chance to phone an emergency doctor, that could provide extra reassurance.

Gardenlady543 · 14/02/2021 12:30

@MF1981 I think call the oncall number, I have never got over the hurdle of a getting a positive so can imagine absolutely everything will worry me if I ever did. But hopefully it will all be ok.

@IVFat43 good luck for the day 6 update today ❤️

I am 11dp5dt another BFN for me, I thought I’d test on the offchance the the pains I got 7-9dp were implantation even though that doctor said they don’t exist and it would have implanted early. I have an exam for a masters I’m taking tomorrow, so would rather know where I’m at before that, then OTD is Tuesday, but I can’t see anyone suddenly getting a BFP at that point. Bit annoying that it’s clearly a no go and yet I’m stuck on medication and can’t plan for the future. I’m so worried now, I went into IVF hoping things would turn around for me but after 2 unsuccessful transfers, it’s not looking good. I’m now going to have to consider implantation issues, which pretty much rules out a natural FET because by the time everything has been set up I can’t risk it being cancelled.

foodiefil · 14/02/2021 12:33

All done. Might call it Cupid for now Smile

IVFat43 · 14/02/2021 12:39

Thanks @Tarsette
it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who felt like that.. people said ivf is emotional and I brushed it off, but one lesson learned, I realise now how lucky we are, not many even have these numbers to start with so I’m in a great position.

The call today confirmed they got 3 yesterday and a further 2 today, all being PGT tested. Results will take 2wks.
Fingers crossed we get good news and they survive thaw 🤞🤞

My focus now is to lose some weight, increase exercise and forget about ivf for the time being.. nothing I can do now 😏

Good luck to all those waiting on results, working towards EC, ET.. or just need a virtual hug 💕xx

MF1981 · 14/02/2021 12:48

I’m sorry @Gardenlady543. I don’t think there’s anything any of us can say to make you feel any better. Concentrate on your exam for now - good luck

MF1981 · 14/02/2021 12:50

Good news for you @IVFat43 and congrats @foodiefil

IVFat43 · 14/02/2021 12:59

@foodiefil that’s amazing! Really pleased for you 😃
@Gardenlady543 all the best with your exam, I have every faith you’ll smash it!

Thank you @MF1981

foodiefil · 14/02/2021 13:09

@Gardenlady543 I’m so sorry. It’s awful, I wish I could say something that would help. Can’t believe you have an exam tomorrow as well. You sound like an incredibly strong woman!

kikisparks · 14/02/2021 13:43

@Gardenlady543 I’m so sorry, it’s so hard to go through it all and get bad news at the end. Best of luck with the exam, and hope you can take care of yourself after it and do some things that you enjoy.

kikisparks · 14/02/2021 13:45

@foodiefil congrats on being PUPO!

@IVFat43 that’s amazing they got 5 blastocysts, really hope you get good news.

Tarsette · 15/02/2021 05:38

@foodiefil congrats on being PUPO!

@Gardenlady543 I know how you feel. I’m on my 4th transfer and am starting to feel like I need to look into some extra things (PGS testing? ERA?) as I can’t believe they would all fail just out of bad luck...especially considering I did get pregnant from the same batch of eggs 3 years ago! I also know how you feel about having to stay on the medications even though you know it’s not meant to be (I had 2 chemicals with ridiculously low HCH levels and had to continue taking the meds for an extra week), it sucks! But I feel like you have a good plan in place and I would go ahead with the investigations. It can’t do any harm and might just accelerate the process to a BFP for you.

@IVFat43 that’s great news! I feel like they shouldn’t give day 4 or 5 updates and only focus on a day 6 update as so much seems to happen on day 5 itself!

Gardenlady543 · 15/02/2021 08:31

Thanks @Tarsette I mean everything I’m considering I haven’t ran past my specialist yet, I’ve only told her about the PGT-A, it’s good that you’ve had a child before with this batch, I’ve never even seen a BFP. So worried about what’s wrong and that it’s just not fixable Sad I’ve been planning our timelines for the PGT-A, scratch, ERA etc and it’s going to take months. I hope this is your lucky transfer.

@foodiefil congrats on being pupo!

That’s a great day 6 update @IVFat43 Smile

foodiefil · 15/02/2021 08:43

Good luck for your exam today @Gardenlady543 xxx

foodiefil · 15/02/2021 09:32

Our clinic grade embryos with numbers - 5 being the best - our emby is 3-4-2

Not the best. But it's in there. Anyone know anything about this?

kikisparks · 15/02/2021 10:56

@foodiefil my clinic grade on the Gardner scale (1-6, A-C, A-C) so I’m not sure how that compares to your clinic’s grading system. My first transfer was with the best possible 4AA and that ended in miscarriage so grading doesn’t necessarily indicate success. I’m PUPO with a 5BB just now.

foodiefil · 15/02/2021 11:02

Thanks @kikisparks it's really helpful they all grade them differently!

Sorry about your miscarriage 😔

I'm not going to dwell on it. What will be will be I'm just really hoping it sticks x

Bells3032 · 15/02/2021 12:07

Yay so we have our final update:

7 retrieved
6 Mature
5 Fertilised
5 in the freezer (3 top quality, one good quality and one OK quality). The final one made it a couple of days after the others but is apparently viable.
They've now gone off the PGT testing

I am so pleased. We have severe MFI caused by cancer. 6 months ago he had pretty much zero sperm. it's gone up to 3million since then after 2 years of treatments but they're not the best quality sperm so was worried they wouldn't fertilise properly and grow. but they did and they look amazing. so happy :)

We think we are gonna do another round to ensure we have plenty for sibling meaning my DH can come off his meds as they're making his blood a little too thick. Also my AMH is low and i am 32 so in 2-3 years my AMH is gonna be low enough to affect my quality so would rather retrieve excess now than be stuck in 3 years.

How many would you do to feel secure you will have a second child?

foodiefil · 15/02/2021 12:41

Do you mean do another round before having one transferred? @Bells3032
Your personal circumstances sound complicated but I would transfer before another round.
I'm currently PUPO with a non tested embryo. Don't have any for the freezer.
Good luck x

Bells3032 · 15/02/2021 12:44

@foodiefil yes. if i transfer (and its successful) then i can't have another round. and i only get two/three shots at a second baby.

I am not so desperate to get pregnant as in some ways we are very lucky and have not been desperately trying. we knew this would be an issue and took action early on. We've never actively TTC. so i am happy to wait if it means being more secure for the future.

foodiefil · 15/02/2021 12:50

@Bells3032 I'd be thrilled with 5 🙂
