Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

@Blessing12 I'm on long protocol and I have 1 box of 300 ui Ovaleap and 4 boxes with 900 ui but if I'm honest I don't know what all that means!

Blessing12 · 01/02/2021 20:40

@thetallgirl so I have x4 900 Ovaleap, when will you find out the dosage your on? Im sure these meds are taken for like 10 days I believe maybe more or less depending on the growth of the follicles.
Down regulation is new to me, its feel like its taking so long, I did short last time and I went straight into meds alot quicker, im so inpatient.

thetallgirl · 01/02/2021 20:48

@Blessing12 I totally understand the impatience! I thought once the injections started it would be pretty full on, but it really isn't. Interesting that you're on different meds etc this time, hopefully you get a better outcome.

Blessing12 · 01/02/2021 21:15

My last cycle, I was just on gonal-f and didn't have a great follicle count and by the end only had 1 embryo which we transfered and was successful, but i think this time we want more follicles so on higher dosage and different meds, I hope they know what they are doing lol.
Good luck and hopefully keep in touch on here with our journeys.

GingerBrummie · 01/02/2021 22:47

Hi @Blessing12 Im on same timing as you and @thetallgirl. Im down regging (started 26th Jan) and have my first scan next Tues, I cannot wait! I have only been given Gonal-F for stimming which Im pleased that its only 1 extra injection (& I believe its pre-filled) but I hope it will be strong enough to get enough follicles! Im 38 so don't have a great amount of eggs (AFC 9).

Blessing12 · 01/02/2021 23:08

Hi @GingerBrummie

Iv tried gonal-f so much better pre filler pens.
I feel like the down reg is dragging, I just want everything tomorrow.
I'm addicted to reading peoples stories.
I'm 34 but have a low AMH 4.5 so not great.
Your scan is exactly same day as mine and @thetallgirl my appointment is at 11 I believe so ill keep use posted on how I get on.
What dosage are you on?

GingerBrummie · 01/02/2021 23:24

Hi @Blessing12 thanks, please keep us posted. Im wishing away this week! Im taking 0.5ml busererlin per day. I hope they dont extend it... what dosage do you have to take?

Blessing12 · 01/02/2021 23:28

@GingerBrummie

I'm on 0.5 buserelin, I had an awful experience the first few days I was in agony with stomach cramps.
Then I will be on 375 Ovaleap and 75 menapur, hopefully as you say if they dont extend.
But iv had AF and I dont think there much left in me (tmi) so fingers crossed for us all it will all go to plan, how have you felt being on buserelin?
Iv had all the side effects possible, i said to the nurse it would be my luck, the hot flushes.

thetallgirl · 02/02/2021 08:23

@Blessing12 ahh glad to hear your last cycle was successful - goes to show only one embryo is what's needed!

I haven't had any side effects from the buserelin really, which I'm pleased and surprised about. AF started yesterday and heavier than normal. My scan is 9.30 next Tuesday so we really are all on the same timeline! @GingerBrummie

I'm 31, low AMH (8.6, 2 years ago), but had a good AFC (18) when they checked just before Christmas. Been trying 2.5 years consistently, but also tried at various points in the past since we got married 8.5years ago. Never managed to get pregnant. Going into this optimistically, I really hope it works out for us all.

Blessing12 · 02/02/2021 08:44

@thetallgirl im praying for you, I feel positive for you im sure it will be good this time.
Nice that there's a few of us at the same stage and help, offer support through out.

Have you decided how many embryos you will put back?

Kitttycatt · 02/02/2021 09:31

Hi all!

I had my down regulation scan this morning and everything has worked this time. Such a relief. So I'm good to start taking menopur as well as the buserelin tomorrow.

My AFC was 15, is that ok?

@thetallgirl my period was heavier than normal and lasted 7 days! Wasn't nice but I think it's a good sign x

Blessing12 · 02/02/2021 09:43

@Kitttycatt oh fantastic news, do you have a date for egg collection? What dosage are you on?

Its all so exciting but so nervous at the same time.

Your AFC is a good number, mine was 5 not great at all, i think thats why I'm on a high disage of Menopur and Ovaleap combined.
When did your AF arrive during buserelin mine was day 2 very heavy, but hoping thats a good sign everything shutting down how it should.

Have you decided on how many embryos you will put back, me and my husband was discussing it last night.

GingerBrummie · 02/02/2021 11:15

Hi @Blessing12 Fortunately I havent had any side effects (yet) from Buserelin. I tried injecting my thigh today just to shake things up! But prefer tummy. Im really hope my AF shows up quickly as I want it gone before my scan next Tues, not sure if I can start stimming if AF hasnt shown, Im somewhat clueless here.
Great news @Kitttycatt, good luck with the next stage!

Blessing12 · 02/02/2021 11:24

@GingerBrummie im not sure either, but i have read that some ppl didn't get AF and started stimming so I'm not actually sure.
Can you call your clinic and ask maybe, but so many people are different, im sure it will start and you will be fine.

Oh no the thigh I think will hurt, on the tummy its not bad because I can pinch it.
Next Tuesday is a big day for us all

hop27 · 02/02/2021 11:28

Hi everyone,
Can I join?
This will be cycle 4, just come off 6 months of zolodex. Starting Co Q10 and melatonin tomorrow, bloods on Monday to check I'm baseline. Then onto stims.
Any support would be so appreciated, I'm a mess this time round.

Kitttycatt · 02/02/2021 11:37

Thanks @GingerBrummie @Blessing12

My egg collection is pencilled in for 16 Feb but that is subject to change. By next week they will get a better idea I think. My menopur dosage is 3 ampules of 75iu. This is my first round so all new to me.

My clinic do things differently to most, they give you an egg collection date and work back from there to start buserelin which you take for over 3 weeks. So my period started on day 22 (a week early for me) day 13 of injections.

My clinic only put one embryo back in most cases. If I had the choice I wouldn't mind having two! What about you?

Kitttycatt · 02/02/2021 11:41

Welcome @hop27 it's nice to have people
to go through this journey with.

Are they doing anything different with your meds this time?

Blessing12 · 02/02/2021 11:43

@hop27 welcome to the group, its very scary isn't it and nerve-racking but stay as positive as possible.
Iv never heard of the medication your starting.
Always here to chat

Blessing12 · 02/02/2021 11:48

Hi @Kitttycatt

Hows it going with injections? How did you find the buserelin?

Ideally I'd like 2 embryos put back if there are 2, my clinic only put 1 if under 40 but they did ask me and I told them 2.

MrTumbleTumble · 02/02/2021 11:49

Another one here wishing the week away. I'm on Norethisterone until Monday, then as soon as my period starts I'll be on Menopur, with Cetrotide starting on day 5. Egg collection has been pencilled in for 25th Feb (but will move if needed). This is my 3rd fresh IVF cycle, one 4 years ago gave us DC1, then one last year and 3x FET gave us not even a sniff of a BFP. Feeling anxious about this time, but the clinic have increased the dosage of the menopur, asked me to start CoQ10 and vitamin D 3 months ago, and will put me on baby aspirin from day 1 of my cycle.
Keeping my fingers crossed the changes to my protocol will make all the difference!

MrTumbleTumble · 02/02/2021 11:51

On numbers of embryos transferred - my clinic told me that because of Covid they need to have a really strong clinical argument for 2 embryos transferred and won't even consider it for people under 40.

There is evidence that replacing two can lower the chance of getting pregnant as well (my consultant told me this, I've not researched it myself!)

thetallgirl · 02/02/2021 12:29

@Kitttycatt glad to hear all went well this morning! My day 1 of AF yesterday was SO heavy and quite painful, it's lighter today already. Like you say, hopefully that's a good sign.

@Blessing12 as I'm 31 and NHS funded I think 1 embryo is our only option, but I'm totally happy with that! Just praying we get at least one to put back, and hopefully some more for the freezer.

@hop27 welcome! Hope things go well for you this time around.

Kitttycatt · 02/02/2021 14:24

@Blessing12 Buserelin injections haven't been too bad. I do them in the morning in my stomach, tried my thigh once and it stung so badly! The only side effects I've had are a few bad headaches and some bloating.

Blessing12 · 02/02/2021 15:06

@MrTumbleTumble Hi there, thats me wishing another week to fly by, iv been taking folic acid and vitamin D thats all atm.

We are all around the same days.

I was under the impression 2 embryos would give you a better chance of conceiving.
