Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

My admission was at 6:30am - home before noon. I came round really quick.

Good news about your follicles @hopefulhel! Especially as it’s your first cycle! What are you hoping for? What are they looking for with you bloods?

hopefulhel · 22/02/2021 10:18

@richmondlady1981 the nurse said if my estrogen levels were over 14000 it would be a freeze all cycle. Most follicles were measuring between 16/22mm so there's a chance with the response I had that my levels may be increased. I'm completely new to all this but that was my understanding. She said the doctors will review my bloods at around 2.30 today and they'll be in contact with me after four with all the details

thetallgirl · 22/02/2021 10:19

Wow congrats @Hop27!

I've had my scan this morning and looks like trigger tonight for EC Weds. I'm just waiting on the clinic to confirm this afternoon once bloods have been analysed. So it seems I'll be the same as @RichmondLady1981 @Blessing12 @MrTumbleTumble @willithappen and @hopefulhel it's so nice to be surrounded by others on the same timeline!

Mrbay · 22/02/2021 10:39

Good luck for today's scans and collections :)

Great number @Hop27! Wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow's update.

@RichmondLady1981 - your scans sounds just like mine!! Fabulous numbers :) Good luck for tonight!

@hopefulhel - that is great news!!

Mrbay · 22/02/2021 10:42

Lot's of people having Wednesday EC - sounds like it'll be a lucky day!

I've had the stark realisation that I'll be out of the house by 6am tomorrow morning so I can get horses sorted and our pup dropped off with my parents - I am not a morning person!!

The one thing I am looking forward to, is a proper splurge on Mac Ds afterwards and no work!

@RichmondLady1981 - I'm sure you know but you won't be able to drive after your EC.

Blessing12 · 22/02/2021 10:46

Hey ladies
Sounds like we all are triggering tonight.. How exciting for us all, i had scan i have 3 at 15 1 at 17 and 1 at 18 on the left ovary I was shocked as 1 at 11 considering there was nothing all this time, even tho it wont be good enough.

The nurse did go and have a chat with consultant as she thought I may need 1 more day of stims, but she came out and said consultant was happy to proceed with trigger tonight, I was surprised as I thought 15 were to small to be mature.

I'm waiting for my portal to be uploaded with all my info and its definitely EC on Wednesday.

Blessing12 · 22/02/2021 10:48

Does anyone know if the follicles can continue to grow during trigger before they are collected??

willithappen · 22/02/2021 10:55

Hi ladies, just done with my scan too and trigger will be tonight and egg collection on Wednesday
Told I will be a freeze all cycle as I have a lot of follicles and a lot responding. Had 24 on one ovary
I also have some fluid leaking and have fluid in my lining (first time this has been spotted) so even without the folicile count I wouldn't be able to transfer because of the fluid :(
They say the fluid is just a coincidence but I'm worried now that this is more common for me and may be the reason for our infertility as we are currently unexplained

Nix49816 · 22/02/2021 11:02

Morning everyone, looks like everyone is doing well, congratulations @Hop27 and good luck to those triggering.

Just had my EC this morning, been really down and anxious all weekend worrying about the week to come. Got 10 eggs today so feeling a bit more positive that the process actually works and I respond to the meds so if we do have to go again I know we can get this far. Just crossing everything now for tomorrow that we get some embryos!!

GingerBrummie · 22/02/2021 11:09

@Blessing12 yes they continue to grow & mature after trigger. Which is good news as some of mine were still on small side but I think they wanted me to trigger sooner rather than later due to possible OHSS.
@willithappen sorry to hear you will need to delay it. I have read some stats that suggest frozen can be more successful as your body is rested & not pumped full of drugs. Hopefully you wont have to wait too long X

willithappen · 22/02/2021 11:23

@GingerBrummie the nurses did stress a lot that they have better success rates with frozen cycles and it does make a lot of sense. I feel I have waited for so long now that a bit of an extra wait to make sure things are okay with my body won't hurt

Now just have to wait out the panick of getting OHSS after

RichmondLady1981 · 22/02/2021 11:44

@Blessing12 that’s so weird- I was just about to type out that same very question. Regarding my smaller one at 13.5, the doctor said ‘It might progress more between now and collection’ so I’m guessing the answer is yes!

@Mrbay ahh thank you. Yes I know about not driving. I’m getting an Uber into the clinic and my husband is following in the car so he will bring me back. I’m totally going to copy you on the Maccy Ds afterwards. We flipping deserve it! Good luck on your early start. I’m thanking god for nursery being open - no idea what we’d do otherwise.

@willithappen don’t worry about the fluid for now. Just focus on your amazing number of follicles and getting them to embryo stage. They are doing the right thing with doing a freeze all. Once they are frozen they can investigate what’s going on with the fluid and sort that out before transfer. There’s no way you’d want to risk a transfer and lose your precious embryos. All will be great. I agree with others- Ive read that frozen transfer can provide great odds for implantation!

@Nix49816 that’s fabulous! Well done for getting through it an everything crossed for your report tomorrow.

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 12:05

My scan this morning did not go well, this is day 10 and I have only 4 follicles, 1 of which they said they don't expect any more from. The other 3 are at 8, 10 and 11 so still have quite a way to go to get to 18 which is where they want them to be. I'm devastated and so scared we won't even get 1 egg!

Blessing12 · 22/02/2021 12:08

@GingerBrummie thank you, that makes me feel better then.

@RichmondLady1981 how crazy is that, well at least we have a day or so, for them to grow a little longer.

Now its time to pray that our little babies well fertilise and develop.
Good luck for those having EC today.

Mancbear88 · 22/02/2021 12:21

Had my 2nd lining scan today - stubborn thing is only 6.7mm despite throwing everything at it. But I did get pregnant at 6.9mm even if that ended with a loss, so the expert doctor wants to give it a go anyway. So transfer is Monday.

Happy to transfer but a bit down that my lining can’t just do what I need it to for once.

hopefulhel · 22/02/2021 13:22

@motherofkittens28 sorry to hear your scan didn't go well. Hopefully another few days and they'll get to where they need to be.

RichmondLady1981 · 22/02/2021 13:25

@Motherofkittens28 so sorry to hear this. But I have read so many ladies on these forums who have their stims extended by a day or so and they get to the Magic number of 18mm. Perhaps they just need a little more time? When is your next scan?

@Mancbear88 I’ve also heard some ladies say they made up a few more cm in the last few days before transfer so you can still get there. How many embryos do you have on ice then? Is it a medicated cycle? Sorry I don’t know much about FET transfers.

Mancbear88 · 22/02/2021 13:33

@RichmondLady1981 yep fingers crossed the last week might get a big thicker, but hoping that 0.2mm is too smaller to make a difference, seems tiny 🤞
I’ve got a 5AA and 6AA frozen. It’s a medicated cycle - lots of oestrogen not injections or anything though. Just start on progesterone pessaries now till Monday.

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 13:54

Thank you @hopefulhel and @richmondlady1981
Next scan is Wednesday and then they will make a call whether I need extra days or not.

americanirish · 22/02/2021 13:57

@hopefulhel sounds like you might go to the same clinic as me, based on the 2:30 update message (I'm also based in Ireland). I had an egg retrieval with overstimulation in November so we had to postpone the fresh egg transfer and then with Christmas and the timing of my period we actually just did the frozen transfer last week! However, without the Christmas disruption I think your cycle linked with egg retrieval is super, super short and you should schedule your frozen transfer pretty quickly afterwards. I'm just playing the waiting game now, and hope it all goes well for you!

hopefulhel · 22/02/2021 14:10

@Americanirish patiently waiting for the phone to ring. I have myself prepared for a frozen cycle at this stage. My breasts are very sore and I am still uncomfortable and now I am starting to wonder if sore breasts is linked to high estrogen? If so it will be a frozen cycle.

americanirish · 22/02/2021 14:15

@hopefulhel I think freeze all retrievals are quite common and I have seen in other forums a preference for frozen embryo transfers as it gives your body a little time to recover and hormones to stabilize before the transfer. The whole process is a waiting game, and this extra hiccup feels like just another layer of torture, but with OHSS best not to risk it! Sending you good vibes for the call!

GingerBrummie · 22/02/2021 14:32

Quick Q all, I have EC tomorrow & assuming all goes well if I had a 5 day transfer does that start from tomorrow, eg tomorrow is Day 1? Im thinking it would mean ET on a Saturday.

Blessing12 · 22/02/2021 15:02

@GingerBrummie I believe day of collection is Day0 the day after fertilisation is Day1 and so on.
