Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

@GingerBrummie that all sounds really positive for your egg collection, I hope it goes well next week. Unexplained fertility is a blessing and a curse but I’m a control freak and the lack of control over not knowing what was wrong was driving me mad. They’ve put me on steroids on this round to combat the NK cells but that makes me ‘clinically vulnerable’ as it kills your immune system so I’m feeling a little stir crazy.
@39andabit I’m so sorry for your round, it’s an absolute shit show at the best of times but Covid makes it unbearable. I hope you’re feeling alright and at the very least you’ll have some immunity to it so it hopefully won’t effect your next round - a terrible silver lining I know :(

Stupidly did a test today. 9dp5dt. It was negative.

We tested in the afternoon, when I really needed a wee cos I'd been drinking alot, using a Morriston own test. 😒 so now we've got all the 'yeah but maybe its not accurate!'

Ah well... blood test tomorrow will say for certain. 😔

@39andabit so sorry to hear about your Covid test. The one time you dont want a positive test! What happens now, had you been stimming? If so will you ovulate? Im assuming you cannot try naturally? (Sorry cant remember your reason for infertility).

@ThePurpleFairy thanks for your responses. After a couple of hours it went down and stopped iching. It was quite a shock as it was a big bulge under the skin even though I injected slowly. Went down afterwards. Was desperate to scratch it. 😆. @Mrbay- haha love it. The Thrush Drug is it!!! Look forward to another week of this 😱 😬

@JessTTC oh wow I’d never heard of this. It’s so great that you’re working with a consultant who has read into this and has an understanding. I also hate the term ‘unexplained’. There’s always a reason!!

@Blessing12 sorry to hear about your left ovary. Mine was pretty useless this scan too! We can cheer our right ovaries on together this cycle. 😂

@Hopeforsuccess wow this is amazing news about your lining! I feel the same in terms of weight gain but this is all temporary! Your key focus is preparing a nice thick and sticky landing pad for your beautiful embryo. 😊You can worry about the small stuff afterwards. Most of the weight will be water retention and hormones so don’t sweat it. Keep us posted!

@Mancbear88 you will get there. Hopeforsuccess is right- it can happen in 5 days! Be positive. Sounds like you’re doing everything possible to make it happen.

@GingerBrummie those number are UNREAL! I’m sure they will be doing everything they can to keep you safe from overstimulation. Great numbers and and triple layers sound very promising indeed! Everything crossed. Are you doing fresh cycle?

@39andabit in so sorry to hear this. Did you have symptoms? When are you able to restart?

@Hopeforsuccess @RichmondLady1981 thanks both I think they might transfer anyway if it doesn’t get to 7mm but we’ll see.

It means I am now lying upside down with a hot water bottle with an excuse to just watch all of Netflix

That is fabulous news @Hopeforsuccess, I've heard others say vit e is great for building up your lining. I find the drugs really mess with my mental health, I get terrible lows and just spend a few days not leaving the house.

@GingerBrummie - it's just the lining on this day so it will continue to grow a few mms each day. your scan sounds similar to mine, but it does mean that they are growing at a similar rate so hopefully some lovely mature eggs.

@Mancbear88 that is the best way to spend some time!
@RichmondLady1981 thank you so much for the encouragement! Indeed i wasnt expecting this either! I just feel so uncomfortable as i was never big and i am 8 kilos more during this year (counting stimulation and previous frozen and this cycle) but as you said i hope it will be all worth it and its temporary. I will deal with it!
@Mrbay thank you so much for the kind words. I think its too much oestrogen and me stressing! Not sure what helped from the things i take but i am trying to be as calm as positive and stopped running all together. Vitamin e and l arginine appear to work according to science. Next step progesterone (also on high dose) and embryo transfer on the 23rd! I am also doing fragmin injections (starting 2 days before embryo transfer).

@39andabit - I am so very sorry. Have a good cry and treat yourself to a glass of something nice tonight.

@RichmondLady1981 - it really is!! But I injected thrush drug very slowly this morning and no itch!

My update from this morning - I have 6 follicles - get in!! previous cycles I've gotten 4 and 3 I think so I am super chuffed! They are all around the 10mm mark so they are being good and sharing the drugs between them (I like to this that they are stoners, passing the joint equally between them!)
Lining is triple layer and 10.5mm so absolutely perfect - I am normally at 7.5mm so this is a massive bonus. I have got a cyst but they aren't worried at all. I mean I do love it when the nurse has to bring the consultant in and we all stand there basically looking at my lady bits!! Consultant was making me howl with laughter!

Will have a 2nd scan on Friday and then will know if I go to EC on Monday or have another scan to decide when we trigger. I am so excited!

@Mrbay your update sounds great! Great lining and amazing increase for follicles! So so happy for you! And you made me laugh! I feel exactly the same sitting there and everyone just taking a look! Well done!!!

@Mrbay did you change anything this time as i gathered this is not your first try? Drugs or things you did?

@39andabit what a shock! I hope you feel better soon. My clinic don't offer covid tests or even ask us to self isolate which is a worry. Look after yourself x

I'm glad I raised a smile, IVF is soul destroying enough and humour makes it a bit bearable!
The consultant was new to the clinic, I asked him where he was before. His reply, heaven where we didn't need IVF, we just prayed - I wet myself laughing which caused dildo cam to go crazy and the monitor looked like aliens trying to contact earth!

Yes some major changes for this cycle, I had surgery to remove a large fibroid, I'm on short protocol with a very low dose of stimms (150, ovaleap). Minimal supplements but have taken folate, q10 and pregnacare. I've not changed my diet/alcohol/caffeine intake.

@Blessing12 @Mrbay @GingerBrummie @RichmondLady1981@Kitttycatt and any others I’ve missed. Thanks for your kind words. I guess it’s good I found out now (12days on buserelin) before the scan and Stims on Thursday as otherwise I don’t know what would have happened! My clinic insist on a Covid test before treatment (scans included) and said it would be postponed at our expense if it’s positive. They said to call in 2 weeks but really they want me to have a period first which I don’t have so I guess it’s back on the provera and more waiting. At least I know the buserelin wasn’t to blame for feeling so rough.
I’m ok, have the fever, headache and really tired and achey but feel a bit better today so hopefully it’ll be mild. I only went to Sainsbury’s or a walk with a friend and my partner was the same so just really unlucky.

@Mrbay sound like really positive news and I agree good to laugh through it!

@39andabit so sorry to hear about your test. Covid is an extra worry for me, I'm sure it is for all of us. Like you say, probably a good thing it happened now and not a week or 2 down the line.

@Mrbay haha your posts are great. I'm also really excited for the whole process, glad to hear you're the same. Anyone else just think all the scans etc are fascinating?! Our bodies can do amazing things and I just think it's so interesting to see. My next scan is Friday morning and I'm looking forward to it.

Just had my 2nd scan today. Left my first one with no real idea if it was going well or not so today asked for an update and they said I have 15-17 follicles growing at around the same rate and showed me the chart that they plot against to track growth until they reach collection size and they have gone up, she said my lining looks like it's thickening too and she seemed happy with progress so far.

All your posts are really useful as they give me an idea of what I should be asking or hoping to see each time I go as I literally have no idea!

Back again Friday so hopefully have an idea of timescales then. Only downside is my clinic being 2.5 hours away. Getting early morning appointments so I can make the time up at work but it means 4:30am get ups, 6 hour round trip every other day, then back for 8 hours work! Only Wednesday and definitely feels like it should be weekend by now. Wont be for long though and hopefully we will be lucky 🤞

@Nix49816 they are amazing numbers- you must be thrilled especially as they are growing at the same rate. Great news about your lining too. I’m sure it will be worth all this travel. That’s a really early get-up!

Thanks @RichmondLady1981 It's just all the not knowing what to expect, what's good and what isn't, there's so much info out there and so many different protocols it's very confusing!

@thetallgirl - I've learnt more than I ever did in sex ed and biology! I never knew that ovaries move, sounds silly now but every diagram I've ever seen has them perfectly level! Plus if you have active digestion going on, they can see that too! Honestly having the nurse point out my fart whilst trying to hold it in, whilst she's doing more rooting around than a drunk girl in her handbag in the kebab line, well showed me I had strength I never knew about!
Oh and the uterus is the size of a plum! When i got told that, it blew my mind!

@nix49816 - you are a stronger woman than me, there are only 3 reasons to be up at 4.30am and that's holidays or horses or still out from the night before - which I dont think I've managed to stay out past midnight in the last couple of years- where has my youth gone?!
But in all honesty, just ask the nurse any question that comes into your head, I always do! But really fab numbers and sounds like your ovaries are stoners too!

I'm on for monitoring scans Friday also so sounds like a lot of activity here Friday too! :)
First night of cetrotelix tonight done. Had a bit of a rash and a bid of blood once pulled out. Rash gone now and nice wee bruise in place!

Argh! Final scan today showed 5 over the line so EC on Friday. Have just done the trigger. Fingers (and toes) crossed for some good looking eggs! I’m hoping the side effects of the Ovaleap go soon now I’ve done my last one?
