Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

Hi ladies,
I hope you don’t mind me jumping in! We’ve decided to keep our 3rd FET to ourselves this time but being stuck in a lockdown, doing this alone is harder than I anticipated. Husband gets it...but he doesn’t at the same time. We are due transfer of our final two embryos at the beginning of March. Currently dosed up on buseralin, progynova and steroids for high NK cells. I’ve had a scratch this time and embryogen glue on the way. Throwing everything we have at these final two embryos and praying they stick! Would be so lovely to chat with people who know what this torturous waiting game is like!

RichmondLady1981 · 17/02/2021 07:13

Morning ladies.

Did my fyremadel injection into my leg about 30 mins ago. Really red, raised and I hint like crazy. Feels hot too! Anyone else get this?

RichmondLady1981 · 17/02/2021 07:28

@JessTTC this is our first IVF attempt and we haven’t told anyone at all. A good friend of mine has been through 3 cycles over the last year and she said it’s so hard to have to inform everyone all of the time, especially when things don’t go according to plan. So I totally get why you aren’t. Sure you’ll get support from this group.

What are NK cells?

What protocol did you use to get the embryos?

ThePurpleFairy · 17/02/2021 08:09

@39andabit yeah, I’ve tried to research and it seems everyone that has gone for it has had problems in the past. So I think I will stick with the pessaries for now and see what happens. I will push the blood test question again closer to the time, as other women are telling me they have a test despite what she told me. If I pay for it myself I really don’t see the issue. Ditto on the not wanting to shove anything anywhere 😳

@Mrbay yes this is first FET, I can only ever have FET because my embryos have to be genetic tested. Good tip, I guess I’ll give it a whirl and hope for the best, couple of weeks yet before this becomes an issue but I like the sound of my body taking it for me 😂 the boxes say put them high in the front and I’m just 😑 at the thought of this

@JessTTC welcome! It is a really hard journey. I definitely know what you mean with the wait being torturous. I check the calendar about 20 times a day to see if the day has changed yet 😅

@RichmondLady1981 I didn’t really get this with Fyremadel but I did get warned it might. I had a hot water bottle every morning and put it onto the injection site and I wonder if this is why I never really had that. The liquid in it seems very thick so I wondered if the heat helped it soak in better. It also soothed the sting after

Alexm06 · 17/02/2021 08:10

My period arrived yesterday which means this morning is scan day to see if this bloody cyst has either gone or gone down. I’m starting to stress now. This cycle fits in perfect without having to tell anyone as I’m furlough. I’m worried if it gets delayed I’ll be back at work and have to keep coming to with excuses.

Anyways good luck to all have scans today!

@RichmondLady1981 on my last cycle using fryemadel I got the same. After I inject (I did mine in the tummy) it was so itchy and red and sometime a little bump appeared. It only used to last half hour or so and then it stopped after a few days then I had no reactions to it after.

@jessttc - I don't miss buseralin and progynova - I got terrible night sweats on that combination!
I'm the same, I've not gone out of my way to tell anyone really. My best friend and work knows but that's about it. Oh bugger, I've just remembered that mil thinks we transferred at the end of Jan - probably thinks it failed.

@richmondlady1981 - I'm gonna call it the thrush drug as it itches like crazy!!

@thepurplefairy - the front is messy as it just, how do I put it nicely?! Ummm, falls out, like a slop! Grin sorry got to have something to laugh out during this grim process.

@alem06 - fingers crossed! Do you when they will scan you?

Scan day today, I've shaved my legs and will paint my toenails. DH was laughing at me picking out my outfit and selecting a new bra - I mean what even is a bra?!
I told him, that even if I'm leaving the house just to show my lady bits, the rest of me will look slightly decent! Plus it's a nice change to get out of pjs and riding clothes!

Rode my horse last night and omg, my stomach is pretty tender, feels like my ovaries have finally woken up.

@blessing12 - good luck for today Star

Alexm06 · 17/02/2021 08:50

@Mrbay haha I’ve done the shave of the legs as well! The scan is at 9.30 and they will tell me there and then if it’s gone down to start injections tonight or if it hasn’t and I have to wait.

Good luck on your scan!

Try icing with an ice pack before you stick yourself, I remember getting big hive like lumps in the injections sites.
We had a long protocol, I wish I’d been given the option for a short, less medicated protocol on reflection. I had mild OHSS which did not feel remotely mild but they were still happy to do a fresh transfer. I was still in so much pain that I feel like we sort of wasted that round.
NK cells are natural killer cells, it’s an immune response where my immune system is in overdrive and is potentially attacking the embryos which could explain why I’ve never been pregnant and my other transfers failed. It’s a controversial test but I couldn’t live with ‘unexplained infertility’ label and my consultant had done a lot of reading around them and was happy for me to go ahead and support any treatment that came as a result.

Motherofkittens28 · 17/02/2021 09:36

Morning all, did anyone find that their ovaleap cartridges sometimes had more than expected in? I've just had to do part of an injection from one cartridge and then replace and do the remainder and there was less left to do than I expected (37.5ml rather than 75ml). I know with the buserelin they sometimes overfill the vials so I've never worried about that but now I'm thinking that maybe I dialled up the wrong dose in the first place!

Alexm06 · 17/02/2021 10:07

So that’s me out! She thinks it got bigger so that’s great. I’m going to hop on to the next thread! Good luck to you all!!

Hopeforsuccess · 17/02/2021 10:26

Hello to all, i wasnt very active here as i am having a terrible time psychological and mentally. I am not sure why. I am very anxious and feeling depressed and not in the best mindset. Lockdown makes this even worse. I am not sure if its the progynova as i am on 5 per day but i am way too bloated and put on weight (2 kilos in 10 days). Also severely constipated. I checked TSH as i had issues in the past and it was 2.8 so started levothyroxine as well. I am waiting for my Last FET as i only have one embryo. Trying to be positive however. But i feel that i am not in the best position for this FET to give it the best chance. Lets see! Good news however!
Had a scan at day 7 of progynova and lining was 7.2 mm and had my second one today (day 12) and lining went to 11.2 mm! Unbelievable really! Last time i had to increase dose and also get patches to get to 9.5 mm. The things that i did this time are: increased protein intake to 100g per day (taking whey protein as well) fertility yoga to increase lining and acupuncture. Taking l arginine (3 mgs) vitamin e (600 iu) . So i am starting progesterone andi am sure i will put more weight on and feeling more uncomfortable but i really really hope for this to go well! Taking it a day at the time!

Mancbear88 · 17/02/2021 11:44

Just been for my scan for my FET despite double dose oestrogen patches and pessaries my lining is only 6.6mm, so they’re giving me an extra week. So fingers crossed it gets up to 7mm in that time. It doesn’t seem that far off but still quite worried now.

Hopeforsuccess · 17/02/2021 12:11

Hello@Mancbear88. What day was tour scan on? It can definitely thicken in a week for sure! Mine went from 7.2 to 11.2 in 5 days! And i didnt expect it. Previously i was on 5 progynova and patches and it only went up to 9.2 after 13 days. I am sure it will Definitely get there

GingerBrummie · 17/02/2021 12:55

Morning all,
Good luck @CLP20 for EC today, let us know it goes.

Welcome to @Hopeforsuccess, i hope you have better success this time round & great news about your lining. Does your clinic offer counselling to help with you psychologically? I also struggled to accept IVF, especially as when I started TTC 3 years ago I assumed I would get pregnant immediately & all friends now onto their 2nd babies & ive literally never see a bfp! Im also quite “natural” so pumping my body full of chemicals doesn't sit well with me. A few posts back someone has kindly linked to some meditation, that could also help.

@Blessing12 good sizes there, I think our EC will be same time.

@JessTTC Welcome! I havent told a sole Im doing IVF either, and Im so glad its lockdown so I can work from home & hide away. In the office the other ladies always asked me when Im going to have a baby! Like I can just click my fingers & it happens! So its been great not seeing them but this forum is great for offloading. If my IVF doesnt work I will also look into NK Killer Cells, I also have unexplained infertility & it makes me wonder if I have it, as I generally never get colds or ill which I believe is a symptom?

@Alexm06 so sorry you’re out this cycle. Im really hoping they take the learnings from it into your next cycle so you dont end up with the cyst again. Good luck next month X

GingerBrummie · 17/02/2021 13:02

Ive just left my stimms scan (8 days of stimming), I have 9 follicles on right, biggest is 15 & couple are 10 & on left I think biggest is 12 & few others around 10. But I have 13 follicles on left, some are very small so she took a blood test to make sure Im not at risk of OHSS, Im hoping not, Im not even bloated! I find out tomorrow & another scan on Fri with EC prob next Wed.
Lining is 13mm & triple layer so thats good. But to be honest before IVF I did 3 monitored Clomids & 2 Letrozoles & my lining was always around 13mm & triple layer & I never got pregnant so its hard to be excited! Oh well!

39andabit · 17/02/2021 13:13

@Alexm06 so sorry to hear that. That’s crap.
@GingerBrummie that sounds positive to me! Lots of follicles but hopefully not too many.

I had a positive Covid test so I’m out for now. Gutted.

Good luck everyone I’ll pop in and see all the positive tests. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Blessing12 · 17/02/2021 13:13

@GingerBrummie thats a great amount of follicles, im sure you will be fine, sounds good to me and they are at a great size.

Blessing12 · 17/02/2021 13:13

I'm sure my linning was 7.2mm I have no idea what its suppose to be @GingerBrummie

Blessing12 · 17/02/2021 13:16

@39andabit awww im so sorry for this, I actually cant believe this bloody covid.... i really am gutted for use.

Mancbear88 · 17/02/2021 13:19

@Hopeforsuccess this was day 14 they’ll scan on day 19 again. They want to scan them as that’s when the lining expert is in. Wow that’s quite an increase!!! I’ll take 0.4mm. I hope it gets there the doctor was really negative, the nurse was much more positive and she said they might transfer anyway if it’s close.

Hopeforsuccess · 17/02/2021 13:20

@GingerBrummie thank you!!!! I was reading your post and remembered that this was exactly the way that i was feeling as well. That i was going to get pregnant immediately as i was healthy! How naive of me! Amazing numbers for your follicles! And lining is very good and should keep like this! Not long to go until EC!

Hopeforsuccess · 17/02/2021 13:24

@Mancbear88 you still have some time for the lining to get there! I am sure you take supplements and maybe increase protein intake? Also try increasing blood flow to the pelvis with some exercises. You have time and if you only need to be above 7.2 mm is not long to go!

Mancbear88 · 17/02/2021 13:41

@Hopeforsuccess yep I take l’argine, vitamin e, prenacare pre conception and red leaf tea tablets.

They put back in for my fresh at 6.9mm so I think I only need 0.3mm really, but obviously the higher the better.

I’ve been walking 5km a day and lying with my legs up, but I’m going to add some fertility self massage and extra yoga moves/stretches and more protein too. And I’ll add in a hot water bottle too. 0.3mm is tiny so hopefully the extreme amount of oestrogen I’m on will do it anyway

Hopeforsuccess · 17/02/2021 13:50

@Mancbear88 you will definitely get there. Protein will Help the lining but will also help afterwards as well for support of the embryo. I also try to walk these days and cut exercising down massively. Best of luck and dont stress! Usually they say that endometrium grows around 0.4 mm per day!
