Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

Ps what are your side effects of ovaleap? I’m so sleepy all of the time! I’m having midday naps. 😴

Hi everyone. I'm on my second day of Menopur injections. Its our first IVF cycle, after 4 failed IUI cycles last year. Its been quite a 'step up' from the medicated IUI!

I seem to be on a lot more Menopur (I'm take 200) but then I'm not taking anything else, and on a long cycle (Prostap injection to downregulated - too ages for bleed to start afterwards).

I responded well to gonal-F which we took on our IUI cycles, so I'm hoping I'll have a similar reponse to Menopur - I'd really love to only have to do this once.

I've been really lucky that I go no side effects after the Prostap injection, but I must say I'm a bit sore after the Menopur (I feel bruised more than anything) and I didn't sleep well last night (kept waking).

Feeling a bit nervous about the egg collection - just the idea of being out of it when things are being done feels strange, so any reassurance of what its actually like from people who have been there would be lovely :)

I’m a bit behind on replying to this thread (sorry been mental busy at work) but I just wanted to say I’m really sorry for the people who’ve had rubbishy news this week, it’s such a big kick to receive at such an emotional time. I really hope that you get the support you need from your clinics and that things turn around for you soon

I’m getting nervous now, AF could come over the weekend and I’m dreading how the Progynova tabs are going to make me feel as I’ve heard they make you feel super tired and sicky. I’m really excited for something to start happening but I’ve sort of had reality hit me the last few days that if it all works I could soon be pregnant it’s taken us until August 2018 to get to this first chance and I don’t think my mind is fully ready for it if that makes sense? I know loads about IVF and absolutely naff all about being pregnant!

@Nix49816 your scan sounds positive, but commute sounds awful, hopefully you will only need to do it once :)

@ThePurpleFairy I know exactly what you mean, Im becoming far too familiar with the TTC/ IVF process, & sometimes forgot what the end goal is! I know more about cells on a blastocyst then I ever cared to! Most people have no idea what grade their embryo, they just get pregnant & only find out when they miss a period. Not fair. I just hope that once this IVF is all over, it will become a distant memory & we can actually enjoy the pregnancies & become like “normal” pregnant people! Iyswim..!

I had my day 3 update today from the embryologist. 11 embryos are still going but 5 of them "looking particularly good". So we shall see, I know the attrition rate is so high between day 3-5. I'm booked in for egg transfer on Saturday.

I have REALLY bad bloating, like I've eaten 3 Christmas dinners. Nurse said it could be mild OHSS but isn't that concerned as I haven't got any other symptoms. But I just feel so uncomfortable, it's hard to sleep well. Glad I'm working from home as I couldn't go in the office. Lying in bed with my laptop next to me...

Hi @Kitttycatt brilliant news on the development and good luck for Sunday.
Is there anything that helps with bloating? Ive read that peppermint tea helps with bloating, so that could be worth trying? Gentle exercise too perhaps?

Are people taking their other half's to the ET? Mine wont be allowed into the room but Im think it might be nice if he comes along as thats the closest to “conception” that we will get as a couple... if that makes sense!

In regards to egg transfer my clinic are allowing partners in now. They weren't back in October when I had my meds run through appointment. So I'm happy about that x

Hi ladies , hope you don’t mind me jumping on the post .. just collected all my medication today from bwh , the nurse was lovely but didn’t give me a lot of information, she did say my AMH blood test was high should I be concerned? What do this mean I’m terms of treatment , it’s my first time doing icsi any tips 🤷🏼‍♀️

So, bloods came back, its a BFN. Yhat was We're now discussing if another IVF round is financially viable 😔

I'm really trying to keep positive with this all, i bought the hypnotherapy that someone posted cant remember who posted it and iv been listening to it, but for some reason I'm not feeling hopeful for tomorrow, but i will try and stay positive.

@Georgia2799 welcome. Your AMH levels are an indication of your egg reserves and likely response to IVF, high might make you at risk of OHSS, in which case they will like only give you gentle stimulation. Do you know what the AMH number was?

@Mom1of2 so sorry to hear that 😔 Its a hard decision deciding how many rounds to do.

@Motherofkittens28 Thank-you for the information, no she didn’t give me a number just went “ ohh that’s very high” then when I started to question it more she kinda dismissed it and went nothing to worry about all under control, I was like okay then , After that I got major brain jog and completely forget everything I wanted to mention to her , good luck with your scan Monday 🤞🏼

Sorry for the delay. EC went well. 19 eggs, 13 mature, call this morning said 10 fertilised. But I didn’t have a great reaction to the sedation/meds (as usual for me) so quite a bit of sickness, dizziness and pain. Quite traumatic for me as I have a phobia of sickness.
Feeing a bit better today but still struggling to walk or really do anything. Hoping I don’t have to do this bit again!
@Kitttycatt I am so bloated it’s ridiculous! I wouldn’t even really call it bloated, more distended and so uncomfortable and painful. Drinking lots of water to try and help.
Really hoping to feel better soon and not have OHSS. It’s good you don’t have any other symptoms.

No updates on my side, but I noticed someone asked about Ovaleap and tiredness - I really think that is what is causing me to be so tired! Had a rough day but made all the better this evening when my horse was fab to ride!

@Blessing12 - that was me - I've only used the free one, but it gave me the best night sleep! Which ones did you buy? We're in the same boat, I'm sure everything will be fine. I keep forgetting, it's scan day tomorrow - what time is yours?

@Motherofkittens28 - same here, I'm getting 2 to 3 shakes down my throat each day, I know it is only a drink, but it feels so taxing - that reminds me, I need number 3.

How has everyone involved their DP? I've got mine to do my shakes, but that's about it. He's not coming along for scans this time due to covid so it does feel a bit lonely.

@Mom1of2 I’m so sorry for your unsuccessful round. Make sure you give yourself the time and space you need to grieve your loss.

The fact that we have to pay through the nose for treating a disease makes me so angry. If this transfer doesn’t work with our final 2 embryos, I’m going to get signed off work and go and to Greece. Half the price of my local NHS/private clinic. It’s still money that we never anticipated spending and eating up savings we didn’t really have in the first place but there will have to be a cut off point for us, emotionally and financially. IVF sucks everything from you, and it’s so bloody hard and unfair.

Hi, I’m new to this forum..
I’m wondering if any of you have had PGT-A testing, if so how many were tested and how many were good? I’m trying to establish the probability of our embryos, we’ve got 5 being tested and I’m hoping I get a least 1 back.. the waiting is driving me insane.. 😩

Its crazy because you feel like your literally being hypnotised. It really does relax your whole body.

@blessing12 - Oh that does sound good, I didn't think it would work but I just started to feel my whole body relax. Oh does it let you share the file?

Welcome @IVFat43 - it's something I discussed with the consultant but due to so few embryos he didn't think it would be worth doing. But you should get at least 1 if not more. Will you be having a FT on your next cycle?

I was hoping to catch the next cycle but I missed it, currently on day 3 and it’s so heavy. I didn’t have the meds as it came so quick after EC..😏. However my clinic said they wanted to wait for the results anyhow to get the protocol..

We had 21 eggs collected, 15 fertilised, 9 grade 1, 3 grade 2, 2 grade 3 then we lost 10 on day 5 of blastocyst after getting so much positive feedback they were 98% there.. they just stopped.. darn things!

I really hope now to get 1 but I’ve started preparing for the worse.. 😏
