Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

@Salacia sorry to hear that, I won’t lie it’s a bit of a rollercoaster but I’ve found this community to be really supportive, especially as people understand more than other people.

Hi ladies I had a scan today which confirmed my ovaries are 'quiet' so I start with progynova tomorrow and I'm back in for a scan 19th to check my lining has thickened, if all's well my transfer with be a week later 🤞🏽

@elsiegoggings ive had a few side effects, headaches, ovary pain and I sleep about 4-5 hours a night. I was hoping now I have progynova they'd reduce my burserelin but no, I don't think everyone gets side effects so I may just be unlucky

@Salacia sorry to hear you are feeling so low, it's not an easy journey but support on here will help you. My partners semen analysis wasn't good either and we knew all along we'd have to have ivf, then to add to it I found out at my referral scan I had 2 10cm cysts (one in each ovary) so I had to do egg collection and then have an operation, recover and here I am. It's been a difficult 18 months for me but I'm excited to have my first egg transfer in a about two weeks.

Hi @Salacia I'm new here too so just learning where everyone is up to on their threads and treatment. It sounds like you have a lot to contend with and whilst Im not in the same situation I completely understand that feeling of not having people who understand your IVF feelings. I had an ectopic nearly 2 years ago and starting this process has brought up a lot of my feelings of sadness that have never really gotten over.

I do have children to a previous (emotionally abusive) relationship but am now in a such a wonderful place with someone and we want a baby together despite him loving my children like his own.

I don't think anyone really understood how much it hurt me losing our baby, I thought all the pain in my life was over and as much as I'm so happy to be starting IVF and that it might actually happen it feels terrifying something might and quite possibly will go wrong again not to mention everything we have to do to get there.

So what are the implications for you both, what sort of treatment will you require given his news?

@GingerBrummie yeah this is the first time for me! Getting very emotional just now and all mixed emotions and suddenly panicking about everything! Panicking about all the stuff for if it works! How we'll manage life after, what if I go through all this and then absolutely haaate being a mother and miss this current life. Is this normal?

@Salacia I'm so sorry to hear that. Make sure you get a second test for him as well just to confirm. There are still lots of options with IVF and ICSI so make sure to look into your options all round

@GingerBrummie ive been booked for a scan on the 16th, which will be after 6 days of stims. I think that's quite early, but I'm pleased. Then she said we'll just go from there maybe a scan every 2 or 3 days until they decide trigger.

@Salacia you're very welcome here. I've found this forum to be really useful over the past few weeks since I found it. Whilst I don't know anything about issues with sperm there will be plenty here who do and hopefully you'll pick up lots of advice here for when you do start with your IVF treatment - I'm sure there will still be options available to you. Hopefully he's home now and you've been able to talk it over?

Thanks everyone for the welcome, I think we’ve both switched into doctor/organisation mode with an email to the GP to try and get the referral sorted, repeat bloods, semen analysis. He’s been very apologetic for the text, he just wanted to tell somebody but didn’t think through the fact that I would be by myself for hours. I’ve been having a read through everyone’s posts in the meantime and it’s clear how lovely you all are!

@willithappen, my dates are the same, just want to get started on the stims now!

@thetallgirl have you decreased your buserelin? Im now on 0.25 per day as against 0.5.
@willithappen I totally understand how you feel. I basically spent the last 2.5yrs thinking it wont happen as it never did! And now Im faced with the prospect that it may actually happen so its quite scary, but I remind myself Ive wanted this so badly for so long & at 38 I cant really wait any longer!

Hello everyone

I had my first stimms scan this morning, all looking good. 21 follicles - explains the bloating! I might even have my egg collection a day early eeek! They will call me tomorrow with info about my next scan.

@CLP20 how are you getting on?

@Salacia we have MFI too - low morphology. This can be worked around using ICSI. X

Morning all. Lots of activity which is great! I realised I got my appointment wrong. Baseline Scan tomorrow.. not today! Doh!

Stopped Norethisterone Sunday and still no bleed for me yet. 🤷‍♀️.

@Salacia welcome iv never done a forum before but its helping me, and just reading everyone else's stories gives you hope or even an insight of what to expect.

@Kitttycatt thats fantastic new, congratulations hun, no info atm but will let you know soon as I know, thank you for asking.
I felt really down last night, id rather do the right thing and if that means hold of for another week, thats what will happen, I think I just expect it all to just go to plan, when really thats not always the case.

@Blessing12 I know how you feel. The first time I had a down reg scan they found two cysts and bloods confirmed that were producing a lot of estrogen. As it was so near to the Xmas break they had to cancel my cycle. That was very rare. Usually they just keep you on down reg meds for a little longer. If your estrogen level is low though you will be able to carry on as normal and start stimms. Cysts are pretty common. Fingers crossed for you.

@Kitttycatt currently sat in the waiting room after my 2nd stimms scan, waiting for blood test.
I had 25 follicles 1st scan, got 33 this time and have just been instructed to start Fyrmadel tonight. I also feel like a whale I am so bloated! I’m struggling to do up my previously loose, stretchy jeans.
Glad your 1st scan went well, good luck for your 2nd. Exciting they might do collection early!

@RichmondLady1981 I stopped Norethisterone on the Friday and 1st day of my period was Wednesday (They were expecting it to be Tuesday), I was stressing so much waiting for it but actually it was no problem at all just started injections a day late. Don’t worry, it will come.

@GingerBrummie my Buserelin is staying at 0.5, just adding in 300 of Ovaleap. I watched the video this morning on how to use the pen and there are a lot of steps, so I'm sure that will be fun tonight but no doubt I'll have it nailed in a few days.

@willithappen I keep having similar thoughts! I'm one of the people who has loved lockdown and I just know that life will change drastically if this works. At times I panic about that, but equally, I really want it to work.... does that make any sense?! I'm not sure it does

Really great news from your scan!

@CLP20 wow 33 is loads. I don't think I have room for any more! When is your egg collection? How many scans do you have to monitor stimms, mine is 2 unless they need to monitor me a little more.

@Kitttycatt I just had acupuncture & massage and I feel so relaxed, always being the way while I was in the middle of it I had the call, i start stims tonight im not producing estrogen which is great news, i feel so relaxed and happy atm, I will go back on Wednesday for scan.
Your story is exactly what i didn't want but new it could be a possibility.

@CLP20 wow that is amazing, fantastic news.

Don't think ill produce no were near that amount, my left ovary is small took them 10min to find it yesterday she sed i will be relying on my right ovary to produce the follicles.

@Kitttycatt I have a third scan on Friday and then hopefully either collection Monday or another scan Monday and collection Wednesday depending on how my follicles progress. Currently have 5 at around 12.5mm.
When are they hoping to do your collection?

@Blessing12 im pleased for you, great that you can start stimming. I take mine at 8pm every night & buserelin at 10.30am every morning. The massage sounds good!

@CLP20 egg collection is booked for Tuesday but it might be on Monday. They will confirm at next scan. Most of mine are 13-14mm but I'm sure one was 19.. that seems big so soon.

@Blessing12 glad everything went well. Best of luck with the injections.

@Blessing12 I’m on 75iu Menopur, 50iu Gonal F and about to start Fyrmadel. I think I’m on a reasonably low dose due to risk of OHSS. I take them at 8:15pm.

@Kitttycatt Gosh, 19mm does sound big, maybe that’s the reason they want to do your collection earlier. When is your next scan?
