Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

@RichmondLady1981 yep I felt like people were on their test day and I hadn’t even started. FET is frozen egg transfer, I’ve got two left so fingers crossed. Did they test your MMC? They just assumed mine was bad luck!

@elsiegoggings the nurse asked me this time about putting two back in as my last FET failed but I’ve chosen to go with 1 as there’s more chance of pregnancy complications with twins and I’ve already had a miscarriage. But I would consider it if my frozen ones don’t work.

Can you talk to the embryologist and see what they think?

@Hopeforsuccess I finished northisterone Saturday so very similar timeline, it’s good to have people going through the same I think. Are you on standard dose oestrogen?

@Blessing12 22nd seems so far away but I think it will come around quickly and hopefully go well!

@Kitttycatt First injections done! Gonal-F just felt like a little scratch and so easy, the Menopur like you said was a bit more fiddly, I got hubby to mix up and it did hurt a bit... but maybe just because I was trying not to nervous laugh and may have tensed! 😂 Now I know what’s coming I’ll be fine tomorrow.
Think I may be on quite low dosage compared to most people, maybe because I have a high AMH.

Be ok and go ahead). I am on 5 x progynova this time. Last time I was on 3 x progynova and at day 9 scan my lining was 6.9 mm. They then up the dose to 5 x progynova and patches snd got to 9.8 mm at day 13. So i think now they want to speed it up! Are you on increased dose as well i gathered due to lining issues?

@Mancbear88 hi. Yes I tested it and it was a trisomy. So chromosomal. Hence why we are having the genetic testing on embryos. No problems with my sons pregnancy. Makes sense to test due to my age and what happened with the mmc.

@Hopeforsuccess sorry you’re finding it rubbish too. Same dose as me. 12 days total for me. Yuck. Bloated as hell.

Does anyone have any info on the side affects of the stim meds? Menopur and Ovaleap? Dare I ask? 😬 😆

Hi to all the new joiners. Everyone seems quite close dates wise. I just want time to hurry up, with lockdown there is literally nothing to take my mind off of IVF.

@CLP20 as it's my first go I think I'm on the standard dosage. What is your AMH level? Do you have PCOS?

@RichmondLady1981 Hi, I'm only on day two of Menopur. I've pretty much had a headache since a few hours after my first injection. I was getting this with buserelin too. I'm trying to drink as much water as I can! I'm sure the bloating will start further down the line.

@Hopeforsuccess yep I’m on 6 tablets, 8 pessaries and 150mg patches (change the patches every other day). That got me to 7.5mm last time so not much scope to reduce it. Fingers crossed it works again this time. I also have vitamin e, l’argine, omega 3 and pomegranate juice.

@Kitttycatt It’s my first time too. I don’t have PCOS but my AMH is 56 and I’m apparently high risk for OHSS. I’m only on 75iu Menopur and 50iu Gonal F each day, which sounds quite low compared with what everyone else is saying! What is your dosage?

@RichmondLady1981 My clinic gave a long list of side effects, which I didn’t pay much attention to as I know I will just look for them otherwise and convince myself I have them! The nurse did say the most common was a headache though.

@Mancbear88 oh honey. It will get you there this tiMe as well. I increase my protein intake as well last time and Try the pose as well when you but you legs up the wall for 10 min to increase blood flow to the uterus. I hope you are feeling good.

Morning all, just done my 7th Buserelin injection and really don't think I've got any side effects so far, do they just take a while to appear or do you reckon I'll get away with it? As long as I've had a bleed ill be having my down regulation scan next Friday and starting my ovaleap on the 13th.
Im taking four weeks off work from 22 Feb to cover scans, egg collection all the way up to after the tww, maybe a bit excessive but my job is super stressful and I just want to give us our best chance as I'm not getting any younger. Isn't it awful how ttc makes you feel ancient at 39!

@Motherofkittens28 totally get that, you don't need to be stressed during this already stressful anxious time, i think its a good idea if your able to take the time of to do so.
My headaches are constant from the buserelin, yes i believe as long as you have had a bleed then your on the right track, but the scan will be what confirms.
At the beginning of the week it felt like It was going to be ages for my down reg scan but not its Friday, few more days and its round the corner...
For the girls also having a scan on Tuesday good luck 🤞 we will start out stims on Wednesday.

@Hopeforsuccess thank you. I was fine last time so should be ok again, surprisingly ok given the amount of oestrogen. My husband might say different 😂 I find the northisterone the worst part horrendous stuff!

I’m furloughed at them moment, so going to do a bit of the fertility yoga and that includes the legs up pose, it’s a flattering look!!

@Mancbear88 enjoy the fertility yoga! I am at work and i am going mental with everything that i need to sort! I had my scan today lining seems to be fine below 5 mm (4.6 mm) but its only my second day of bleeding so starting oestrogen saturday and having my scan on day 7! This is too early but we arranged it like this so if the lining is not progressing we will
Have time to increase medication further. Will need to start some fertility poses myself soon! Did you start already oestrogen?

Has anyone else tried acupuncture? I've been going once a week since I started down regulation. I'm not sure if it's doing anything but it relaxes me. I never fall asleep though as I'm the lightest sleeper ever. Worried I'll be totally aware when I have my egg collection. 

@CLP20 that is a great number. Means you have lots of eggs left in the reserve! Mine was 21 when they measured it last June and I'm 35.

I am amazed at how every person seems to be on different medication! I was not too bad on the Norethisterone but seem to have been very emotional since stopping. Watching "Love your Garden" is not helping! I started Gonal F injections on Wednesday. I can't really tell how I feel anymore. I don't seem to be having any side effects yet but they do upset me as I'm terrified of needles. 4 weeks off Motherofkittens28! Sounds like a good plan! I just negotiated 3 days off post embryo transfer with my Manager yesterday as he is funny about anyone having time off and I'm not allowed to book anytime off work in Feb. I may take the full week depending how I feel though. Good luck all!

@Hopeforsuccess yep I started yesterday (day 1 of bleed) isn’t it strange how differently the clinics all do it. I don’t get a baseline scan just the one scan at day 14 and if that’s ok then 5 days of progesterone and transfer. Hope work isn’t too stressful, at least it’s good to take your mind off things!

@Kitttycatt I did acupuncture with my fresh cycle I liked it, no idea if it helped but at the very least it can’t be harmful to relax for that time each week. I would’ve done it again but I can’t bring myself to tell the acupuncturist that I lost the baby, I feel like it makes things awkward for people!

@Loopylu1113 it’s the week after the northisterone I’m the worst, I get migraines, bloated and angry or emotional usually. So far I’m not too bad this week bar a constant headache.

@Kitttycatt are you having sedation with you egg collection? I did last time and I was worried I would be aware but I was completely out and woke up in the recovery room so yeah I wouldn’t worry too much. To be fair that was the easiest thing for me last time and I thought it would be the worst

Whens the best time to start acupuncture?

Hi to the newcomers, so good to see lots of people here, nice feeling.
Re acupuncture, I did this for 7months when I was “TTCing” not “IVFing” sadly did nothing for me but I know some people swear by it. I recall my acupuncturist said if I were to do IVF I would have a session immediately after ET to increase blood flow to uterus. I will just be laying on floor with legs up against the wall instead! Cheap DIY version!
Ive heard protein is very important leading up to EC so Im upping my intake daily.
Today I had my Covid test & had bloods taken in preparation, just routine & fortunately I don't need to self isolate.
@Motherofkittens28 Im on day 11 of buserelin & zero side effects thus far. Im image when I start stimming (hopefully) next week & still continue Buserelin then side effects may appear ☹️

@Kitttycatt I’m doing it. It likewise, not sure what good it’s doing. Worth a shot though? Almost scared not to!

Hey @GingerBrummie what are your thoughts on a protein shake? Since being on buserelin iv just eaten crap I hope this is normal to eat everything and anything sweets chocolate you name it....
I'm just a good healthy eater but since iv been down reg I just want to eat rubbish.

@Blessing12 it’s supposed to be great to help thickness of living so great for transfer.

Oh and WHEN you fall preggers it’s great for your developing baby and to help with the aches and pains of pregnancy too. 😁

@Alexm06 yes I'm having sedation for EC. Thanks for the reassurance, I could imagine myself lying there groggy but fully aware what was going on!

@Mancbear88 sorry to hear that 😢 I had a similar thing a couple of years ago when I did hot yoga. I had to tell the instructor I couldn't do it anymore as I was pregnant and needed a refund and he wished me well with everything. I couldn't go back in case he rememberd me and asked how the baby was x

@Kitttycatt yeah I was soo scared I cried when I went in there but all the just to be asleep haha so yeah I really wouldn’t worry
