Hi Is anyone starting IVF in January/February next year?

We had our first failed IVF cycle in October and looking to go for our second cycle but the way my periods are it falls over xmas when they are shut.

So we are starting in Jan :)

I'm just out from my scan and I'm ready for EC on Wednesday too now. Of my 24 follicles 9 are 16mm and above and another couple that are just borderline so we're delighted with that!

I triggered last night with 250 Ovitrelle - got a discomfort this morning around my lower abdomen. I'm sure this is probably normal, just wish I'd written down my symptoms from last time!

In tomorrow at 0730 for EC 🤞🏼

@ unknownscot we got 14 out of q7 eggs so happy with that! Now the wait begins! I felt like I was going to explode with all of the pressure below. Normal after trigger shot. Best of luck for Wednesday!

So I’m just about to head into the clinic for my second stims scan! On day 10 I had 21 follicles, 1 at 18.8mm and another 6 above the line, the rest were just under. I’m hoping they’ve come on enough for EC on Wednesday!

I’m so worried about EC on Wednesday 😔

@thirteen92 I had ec this morning. It was so straightforward. I went in to theatregoers drugs was out on 10 secs woke up in recovery...no pian. Had a lot of pressure before collection which is now gone.

@hopeful182 oh wow! All seems like it went well for you! I’ve been told I won’t be asleep during my EC. I just hope it’s not too painful.

@Gardenlady543 I’m glad your lining got to over 8mm. Do you have a transfer date now?

I’m in for my first lining scan a week tomorrow which will be the 13th day of taking estradiol. I’ve had no obvious side effects yet. I’m crossing everything that lining is thick enough when I go back and that my transfer can be booked!

@thirteen92 I'll be with you for EC on Wednesday. Fingers crossed. I haven't been able to concentrate all day. Too exciting!

I’m feeling really deflated. I’m not triggering tonight 😔 today is day 13 of stims. I have 1 follicle at 23mm and then have 6 at 14.5/14.8mm which they want to grow.

Any tips on ensuring they grow? Anything I can do?

Also, my lining is 7.8mm. Last Friday it was 10mm. Why would it be getting thinner? 😔

Aw man, that's really disappointing @thirteen92. I'm so sorry to hear that. I have no tips but I'm sending you lots of positive vibes.
You might just need that little extra day. The Sonographer was saying to me today that they're often successful with follicles over 15mm. You're just about there. Stay positive x

@thirteen92 drink lots of water. To boost blood flow to uterus sit with bum against wall and legs in air for 10 to 20 mins each night. This helps follicles to grow and helps to thicken lining.

@unknownscot thanks I'm thrilled. Starting to believe it might happen now! We are doing pgs so if we have a normal embryo to transfer it will be fet.

@thirteen92 some of mine were 11mm on scan on Friday and were collected today. They must have grown to over 15mm so you still have time.

@jonrik you had great numbers too!! You'll have at least 9mm and possibly a lot more. They grow a lot in 2 days!!

@kikisparks my clinic said a week on Wednesday for the transfer.

I’ve had quite a bad day, the clinic told me the transfer is happening on day 22, that seems really late and it is being delayed because of scheduling on their part. I feel that my most viable embryo could have less of a chance because they are not prioritizing based on need but their schedule. It also seems dangerous to start my progesterone on Friday, before they shut for the weekend when I’m suspected to have an allergy to it. Really gutted but there’s no other clinics in my area that open 7 days a week or that prioritise natural cycles (I’d want this in the future and would be worried about trusting this clinic to fit my natural transfer date into their already busy schedule) and I’m with access fertility on a package, so I’m stuck where I am.

@hopeful182 sorry for late reply, I’m in bham. Still waiting for day 1 after norethisterone, which should have bought it on from day 3, I’m day 4 so hopefully it happens today and I can get the ball rolling and book in all my dates and start planning the meds.. I’m told pgs will add on 5 wks to time the cycle.. 😏

@Gardenlady543 sorry to hear the frustration of your clinic, mine too shuts weekends and it’s always a worry in case I need them.. hope it works out for you.. thank you for the tip about sitting with the bum up the wall - I’ll remember that one when I need it! Good luck..🤞

@Sam132 I found with the menopur that numbing the injection site with ice before and after really helped me
