Is it too soon?

Hi Is anyone starting IVF in January/February next year?

We had our first failed IVF cycle in October and looking to go for our second cycle but the way my periods are it falls over xmas when they are shut.

So we are starting in Jan :)

@Sunbird24 I am 37 and to be honest wouldn't mind twins, I am a twin myself❤️ Will defo speak with the clinic it doesn't hurt to ask...

Birdladybird · 24/01/2021 12:41

@Doremifasol in France all transfers are day 3. They only leave until day 5 if the quality is questionable. So if it’s the norm in France I wouldn’t worry Wink I had a day3 transferred on Friday x

Finally made it to day 6 post egg collection. 13 embryos we’re doing fab until day 4. Then yesterday we were told only a 1BB and an ungraded blastocyst had got to the freeze stage. The others were being watched and will be given another day. Today we got the call to say another two have also been frozen today, one being a 4BB and the other being a 5BB. I hope, just hope, that something special comes from them! Now to wait for a FET... whenever that may be!

Hope everyone else is having a lovely Sunday!

Hi I’ve started my IVF drugs this month.. I’m on day 11 of surprecur and two days I’ve got a rash.. any advice please x

Gardenlady543 · 24/01/2021 16:53

@PT8998 it sounds like you have 4 frosties? That’s good!

Gardenlady543 · 24/01/2021 16:58

@Sam132 you should let your clinic know as soon as you can. I’ve looked it up and people can get hypersensitivity to it, so any swelling of the lips/throat or shortness of breath and you need to call 999 (that’s the worst case scenario just mentioning so you’re aware.)

Is the rash at the sight of injection or elsewhere, what does it look like?

PT8998 · 24/01/2021 17:01

@Gardenlady543 yes, four have gone to the freezer! Thank you!

I have been so stressed at thought of a 1BB and an ungraded early blast, so the extra two today have certainly helped a lot with the stress!

Sam132 · 24/01/2021 17:06

Thank you so much! - It’s in the inner of thighs and on the tummy.. It’s small red spots and not itchy.. I thought it could be sweat rash?

kikisparks · 24/01/2021 17:12

@PT8998 sounds like a great result! My frozen embryo for this round is a 5BB from day 6.

PT8998 · 24/01/2021 17:15

@kikisparks thank you! Let’s hope they bring us lots of luck! 🤞🏼

Mesov · 24/01/2021 17:19

Pls anyone here with a success story for a grade C embryo.

Gardenlady543 · 24/01/2021 17:21

@Sam132 it could be, the most worrying rash is called urticaria, it’s what’s happens when you’re stung by a bee. This rash could be completely unrelated, especially if you’ve been on the medication for a while and it’s not related to the timing of the vaccine. It’s best for you to let your clinic know as soon as you can and watch out for the worrying symptoms- swelling and issues breathing- that is an emergency.

Ah bless you @PT8998 sounds like a good result today!

Sam132 · 24/01/2021 17:29

Thank you - will contact them in the morning. All the best for you! X

Gardenlady543 · 24/01/2021 17:41

@sam I don’t know why I called the injection a vaccine lol, it’s been a long day! Hope the rash settles for you!

PT8998 · 24/01/2021 18:01

@Gardenlady543 it has been indeed! Huge sign of relief when I heard about the second pair going to join the first two in the freezer!

jonrik · 24/01/2021 20:19

That's great @PT8998! You must be very relieved.

I'm on day 11 of stims today and I am absolutely shattered. I've had a really good long sleep yesterday but I could barely keep my eyes open all day. Wonder whether that's just the body working really hard and / or a side effect of Menopur. Anyone else felt super tired during stims?

PT8998 · 24/01/2021 21:12

@jonrik thank you! Very much so, I was a bit worried yesterday and didn’t expect good news today!

As for your stims, I wasn’t on menopur and can’t say I felt that tired! I hope you manage to get some energy back soon! 🤞🏼

hopeful182 · 24/01/2021 21:29

@jonrik I am currently on day 7 of menopur, and i do feel super tired. I felt the same during the last cycle, also on menopur. Im just taking it easy.
Im doing the short protocol so have 3 more injections left depending on what happens at the scan this Wednesday. Xx

Motherofkittens28 · 24/01/2021 21:34

@thetallgirl I'm due to start my long cycle on buserelin on Friday or Saturday, nice to see there will be someone at a similar stage!

jonrik · 24/01/2021 21:35

Thanks both.
Yeah, I have a scan tomorrow morning and just checked and I only have enough for 2 more injections anyway so hopefully that's enough. Like you, I'll just take it easy. Nothing wrong with going to bed at 9.30 like a granny!

Good luck with your scan @hopeful182!

hopefully21 · 24/01/2021 22:26

I was on menopur gonal f and cetroide and exhaustion hit me on day 8. Triggered last night with buserlin and have sore boobs since. Egg collection in the morning. Fingers crossed! I don't want to do another cycle and time is most definitely not on my side!

hopefully21 · 24/01/2021 22:27

@jonrik best of luck with your scan.

indub · 25/01/2021 02:20

Hello all Smile Long time lurker, infrequent poster. Love hearing all your experiences - triumphs, bad days and commitment.

I'm currently curled up with a heat pack on my ovaries after EC this morning. This is my second IVF after the first gave us our DS and 3 failed FETs. We're unexplained. Although my DH's sperm results were so good the Dr asked him if he wanted to be a sperm donor... during the IVF consult. BlushGrin

This time around we've added growth hormone to hopefully help implantation and egg 'competency'. My specialist doesn't think ubiquinol works but I've been chomping that like skittles anyway. Grin

All my best, especially to those facing clinic uncertainties with the big C.

RichmondLady1981 · 25/01/2021 06:37

@hopefully21 good luck with the egg collection today. X

Gardenlady543 · 25/01/2021 08:03

@indub well done for getting through the EC, hope you’re doing some relaxing!

@hopefully21 good luck for the EC !

So I had to go back for a day 13 scan for my FET my lining was 8.1mm today (it was 7.4mm on day 10, they seemed quite happy although I thought it would be thicker since I had upped estradiol to 10mg a day and have been managing to take it orally, although I’m feeling more nauseated today after it eased a bit yesterday. The nurse said I won’t be able to reduce the dose now as my body will induce a period.
