Hi Is anyone starting IVF in January/February next year?

We had our first failed IVF cycle in October and looking to go for our second cycle but the way my periods are it falls over xmas when they are shut.

So we are starting in Jan :)

@Emmalouise11 I don’t see how they possibly could, a pregnancy test detects HCG and I don’t think any meds other than the trigger shot contain HCG?

That’s so strange a nurse told you that @Emmalouise11 and sorry that she was rude, I get they are busy and it’s a tough job but this is a hard process for us and a little kindness goes a long way! Have you had a positive test and she’s saying it might be a false positive?

Hey @kikisparks yes I tested early at 4dp5dt and again at 5dp5dt and it was faint but there’s a line and she got a bit funny when I said it was positive basically said don’t get your hopes up on your actual test day cause it could be a false positive on the medication.

@Emmalouise11 oh that’s horrible for her to say that in that context, I’m going to give you my congratulations as I’m no expert but I think the nurse is wrong! Fingers crossed for you that it’s a sticky one, keep us updated!

Oh @Emmalouise11 that sounds promising! only time will tell but sounds like a good early sign! Are you in a fresh or frozen cycle?

@Emmalouise11 Oh wow that is early then, I heard it can take a bit longer for frozens to show up, as someone that has never seen a BFP in my life I’d love to be in your position! Maybe do some daily tests to see if the line gets darker, but sounds like good news!

@Gardenlady543 yeah I read that too, I wish I didn’t test that early now. I’ve never seen one either but trying to not get ahead of myself. Might leave it a day and then Do another one. x

@Emmalouise11 well when people have a transfer we say they’re PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise) so you can be happy you’re definitely still PUPO! Keep us updated

I've not heard that - however, for my FET I was given a booster HcG shot at my transfer. Did you get anything like that that maybe the nurse is meaning might not be out your system yet?

@Emmalouise11 gosh it’s so long to wait isn’t it! If I were you I’d probably keep testing every couple of days to see if the lines got stronger but it depends what you’re comfortable with.

@Emmalouise11 how long was otd after transfer?

Thank you everyone who replied to my update post retrieval yesterday! I really appreciate your kind words. Got home and just relaxed. Taking it steady today, but feeling not too bad at all!

@Emmalouise11 I got a positive at around 5 days after my first fresh (I had had a negative so I knew it wasn’t trigger), obviously it’s still early but with no HCG shot it will be a pregnancy I believe so tentative congratulations 🥳

Hey hope I'm ok to jump on! So I'm on day 7 of stims. First fresh cycle. I have my first stims scan on Friday! Today I've got a bad headache and feel like I've got brain fog... not sure if it's anything to do with the meds. I'm on 150 Meriofert & fyremmadel now.

I'm really hoping I'll have EC next week. I am petrified though, the clinic have said I won't be asleep for it but just given drugs. Some people have had awful experiences :(

@kikisparks thank you 😊 I have had two blastocysts transferred today, I have another 2 in the incubator but they haven’t developed properly, they are going to give it until tomorrow and if they are ok they will freeze these. Fingers crossed one of today’s ones works 🤞
