Is it too soon?

Hi Is anyone starting IVF in January/February next year?

@AnnaM1987 hi!
I had the odd cramping not much over the last 6 days and bout hour ago one boob bit tingly but that's it no symptoms otherwise .... hate the waiting so low yesterday and today really feel it hasn't worked again! I know I should stay positive my test day is Monday 18th , what about yours??

hopefully21 · 13/01/2021 16:10

Hi all, hope it's ok to join this thread.

Is it ok to drink coffee, 1 cup in the morning, while stimming?

kikisparks · 13/01/2021 16:30

@hopefully21 there is a study that says drinking less than 5 cups has no affect on IVF outcomes www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.livescience.com/amp/36521-coffee-pregnancy-ivf-success.html . There are also studies that suggest more than 2 cups of instant coffee may be risky in pregnancy but that it’s fine to have up to that amount. Personally I’ll stopped caffeine whilst stimming but the evidence isn’t there that that will make a difference, I think it’s what you’re personally comfortable with.

If it helps anyone, the fertility network is offering free online fertility yoga, although they do like if hit can give a donation, I did it last year and found it very relaxing fertilitynetworkuk.org/events/join-fertility-yoga-jan-feb-21/?fbclid=IwAR3eRhU9P4g03vQAtuxp30ofXXZcc1reXiQwCa5TLnQ9ytb2mV1YxOeFbQc

Gardenlady543 · 13/01/2021 17:23

@kikisparks that yoga looks great! I’ve signed up, do you know if it goes on for the whole 2 hours 6:30-8:30? I have a meeting 8-9pm on Thursdays and would hate to miss the relaxing bit at the end.

hopefully21 · 13/01/2021 18:08

@kikisparks thanks so much. I might just kick the habit for a while.

kikisparks · 13/01/2021 18:11

@Gardenlady543 it’s just an hour when I’ve done it, it does overrun for a few minutes sometimes but it’s always been finished by 7.40pm. You definitely want the relaxing bit at the end, it’s the best!

kikisparks · 13/01/2021 18:13

@hopefully21 you’re welcome Smile you might want to decrease slowly, when my DH cut caffeine suddenly he got bad headaches and eye twitches, although it might just have been that he was drinking quite a lot of it!

Gardenlady543 · 13/01/2021 18:18

@kikisparks oh fab! Maybe they have just planned the meeting for longer than it is, ending at 7:40 ish would be perfect. I was looking for something like this to go to but didn’t want it to affect treatment so this looks perfect! And having it scheduled in means I’m more likely to do it compared to YouTube sessions.

@hopeful182 I agree about stopping the coffee, if you’re just down to one cup it seems sensible to just stop it. I’m quite against caffeine so I never have it ever, I doesn’t do any good and if you never drink it, then you never need it. I like to start my day with a smoothie: cacao powder, frozen banana, a Medjool date and cashew milk :)

Doremifasol · 13/01/2021 18:30

Just done my first Bemfola injection and sooo happy to say- it didn't hurt at all!!🥳 I was sweating, shaking but really was nothing like I imagined. Phew!!🤪

hopefully21 · 13/01/2021 18:39

@kikisparks I only have one cup in the morning so yeah that's a good idea I'll have half a cup tomorrow. Thanks for the advice. I can't remember what I did in my last cycles. This will be my third full cycle. It will be my 4th transfer fingers crossed!! On day 2 of stims. Feeling I should have done more.

We are doing pgs. I can't remember how long the whole process takes from stimms to fet. Any idea?

Also are you supposed to drink raspberry leaf tea while stimin? Anyone hear if this? I feel under prepared this time.

hopefully21 · 13/01/2021 18:55

@Gardenlady543 you sound so healthy. That smoothie sounds divine. I'm definitely trying it. Yes coffee is out for the rest of the cycle. I'll get over it.

Mrbay · 13/01/2021 19:05

Lots of updates!

I think I'm slightly different in terms of diet, I love a cup of coffee and I did continue to have the odd full caffeine cup but switched to decaf, where I didn't notice a massive difference to be honest.

My consultant is pretty relaxed about diet and drinking. I know it's hard to compare to those who get pregnant naturally, but most woman don't know they are pregnant for a few weeks and continue as normal, go on to have healthy pregnancies.

I'm led in the bath, with a glass of wine thinking I've only got days left to do this!!

Annoyingly I've had my first ever mid period spotting this month, the clinic arent concerned but I can't help feeling that they'll find something on my next scan.

I'm going to enjoy the next 7/8/9 days I have before I start stims because I know that'll be when the anxiety kicks in and the feeling of this will never work!

I'm trying to take comfort in the fact that I personally know 3 couples that have had a health pregnancy via the clinic I'm with and hopefully it'll be our time this year.

Oh welcome to the new ladies on the thread.

I'm hoping that we aren't far away from our first positive on this thread 🤞🤞🤞

Birdladybird · 13/01/2021 19:49

I'm on day 6 of stims, hopefully EC will be monday/tuesday. We are having IMSI this time after having no viable embryos to transfer last time. We have MFI. I had 16 follicles on CD2 scan, yesterday 7 of those were over 12mm and she was happy with my lining. I'm taking a double trigger shot this time to help with maturity.

I seem to have a lot of problems with my nipples on these drugs Blush they are really itchy!! Is it just me??

Sunbird24 · 13/01/2021 20:04

Not just you Bird, mine were too!

AnnaM1987 · 13/01/2021 20:38

@walshh091186

Hi! I started to have cramps today and I feel that my period is coming.. 😲 but I also read that the symptoms can be quite similar..

My test is also on Monday.. but today I gave up and bought 4 tests so I’m planning to test everyday from tomorrow onwards.. 😂 I know, I know...

I never imagined that this wait will turn to be by far the hardest part of the process for me so far.. I’m trying to be positive but it’s hard.

Are you doing anything different during this tome, meaning diet or some different routines?

I have everything crossed for you!

kikisparks · 13/01/2021 22:29

@AnnaM1987 good luck for the test tomorrow! I’m an early tester too.

@Doremifasol glad it didn’t hurt! First one is the scariest.

AnnaM1987 · 14/01/2021 11:17

Hi everyone.. 😊 @kikisparks and @walshh091186 I tested today and it’s negative.. not even the faintest line which I was hoping for 😩

I knew it is early, day 8 post 5 day embryo transfer but literally never expected that early testing will affect me so much.. all morning in tears. I don’t know if I will test tomorrow, now will wait until Monday. Can’t cope with another negative tomorrow. Really took all the hope away from me as I have seen so many posts where people were saying that from 6 day that started to get faint line and I’m already day 8 and nothing, no symptoms eaither.. eh hope you have better results!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

kikisparks · 14/01/2021 11:32

I’m so sorry @AnnaM1987 Sad it’s so upsetting to see the blank space but also it could still be a positive and you won’t know until test day. I think you’re right to wait til Monday to test again now. It’s still early and there’s still a chance. Hope you can look after yourself until then Flowers

walshh091186 · 14/01/2021 12:01

@AnnaM1987 and @kikisparks I think your right don't test again until Monday.... I'm not testing until then either!!! We have to have hope! It's still really early.... only 4 days more to wait I know how hard it is... I caved last round and really wish I hadn't.... let's be strong together anything is possible still at moment...

Tarsette · 14/01/2021 15:43

Hello ladies! Can I join this thread? I will be starting my FET cycle in about 9 days. I have thin lining issues so will also be taking stims to thicken it up. I’ve been on this rollercoaster a few times before: this will be my 7th cycle (1 beautiful daughter, 3 BFN and 2 failed cycles) and I’ve also had a couple of operations to remove scarring and polyps from my uterus.

I know what you mean @Mrbay about the last few days before starting stims...they sort of feel like a nice, quiet time before all the fear and stress starts.

Since this will most likely be our last try (the emotional and financial toll are just to heavy, I need to move on with life), I have decided to be extra careful about everything so I stopped caffeine and alcohol in Jan 1st and am taking copious amounts of supplements (Coq10, raspberry leaf etc.).

I look forward to following all of your journeys on here!

foodiefil · 14/01/2021 17:00

Has anyone else experienced headaches on buserelin?

I'm on day 3 of a dull headache. You know the kind the pulses inside your skull if you move too much

Mancbear88 · 14/01/2021 17:11

@Tarsette welcome, I’m also doing a FET (start noristorene around 25th) and have thin lining issues. I’m on patches, double pills and pessaries plus I also take vitamin E, l’argine, raspberry leaf and pomegranate juice. With that I got to 7.5mm last time, but it didn’t stick.

How you feeling about this time?

unknownscot · 14/01/2021 21:35

I can't help with that - but I'm on day 2 of Menopur and my headaches have been horrifically awful.

😩

somethingfunny · 14/01/2021 21:47

Hi, may I join? I'm starting a natural FET, first scan is a week tomorrow. We're trying for no. 2, our daughter is also the result of a natural FET

MF1981 · 14/01/2021 22:19

What are everyone’s thoughts on supplements post transfer? Do we just carry on with the preconception vitamins during the 2WW up until taking the test? Are there any that shouldn’t be taken?
