Hi Is anyone starting IVF in January/February next year?

We had our first failed IVF cycle in October and looking to go for our second cycle but the way my periods are it falls over xmas when they are shut.

So we are starting in Jan :)

Wondering if I can join in the chat! Starting IVF this month after 2.5y TTC no.1 (2 early mc and "unexplained" infertility - although maybe explained by AMH of 5.7)
Day 4 of the pill (although still not sure why I am on this as periods are very regular) and due to start drugs in 2 weeks time! Already an emotional wreck.......

Was really disheartened by my day 3 TV scan as normally my AFC has been around 10-12 but only counted as 6, but trying to stay as positive as possible.

Hope everyone else is keeping things together and being kind to themselves!

Ah @MF1981 think I’m just a day behind you! I had my down reg scan today, all was fine and I’ve started my stimms (menopur) this evening. I’ve got two scans booked in next week and then hoping to transfer the week after but need to wait and see! Know what you mean about this feeling like the longest month ever though!
Do you know what they want to see on the first scan?

Hey @Dogmum1992 I’m doing an FET so no stims for me. Once you start stims and go for the first scan, they will be looking for your lining starting to thicken up and they will measure the number and size of follicles on your ovaries.

@Pineapple851 I know what you mean - January is a long month anyway but this feels longer than usual!

Had my prostap today so down reg for my FET has started! I was short protocol last time so I’m not sure what to expect, nurse mentioned hot flushes, headaches and mood swings!

@Pineapple851 sorry about your early miscarriages, I’ve had 2 as well. 6 follicles is still good! They usually put people on the pill for scheduling purposes.

Hey all, just started the cyclogest pessaries again today, but doing 3x a day 😩. Does there have to be a certain time gap in between does anyone know? And also does it matter if you take too much progesterone, cause I’ve not had my levels checked so think 3 pessaries may be standard.

@kikisparks I've had my Prostap on Tue and feel absolutely fine so far. Who knows, we might get no side effects at all

I am tempted to start doing pregnancy tests on a daily basis.. 😅

@Pineapple851 I’m really sorry to hear about you miscarriages.. but hopefully this time it will work well! 6 is not bad.. I had 10 and ended up with 3 embryos.. girl that was going through the same stages as me had 4F and ended up with 4 top quality embryos!! Stay positive but I know it’s easier said than done!

@DogMamma16 how are you reacting to the medications? Hope everything is going well..

@Emmalouise11 I am taking 2 cyclogest pessaries 400 every 12 hours... I started on the day of egg collection and was told to continue until the pregnancy test and if positive I will be taking them for another 2 months..

I get diarrhoea and I’m quite bloated from them but would not describe them as having disastrous effect on me..

@AnnaM1987 it's not so bad right now. I'm only on daily buserelin injections still and i'm incredibly bloated and have an upset stomach every day from it (which didn't happen last time... no idea why different this time)but it's not bad enough to prevent me doing day to day things and I know its worth it. Baseline scan on tuesday and fingers crossed it goes well and I can start taking Progynova on Thursday. Don't start testing just yet! Save your emotions and the £££

Hello ladies. I've been reading along but having posted much at all. I had a failed cycle in october/november. 10 eggs retrieved but only 3 mature and none of them made it far enough to transfer.

I had my first scan on wednesday and finished taking my provames that evening. Took my first injection of Fertistart 300 last night. It was a bit daunting as you have to mix it yourself from powder, but i got there!

Next scan is Tuesday 12th and provisional egg collection booked in for 18th jan. I've got 16 follicles minimum ready to grow and the doctor was very happy with that as i only had 9 last time.

I'm also having a double trigger shot (2 different ones) to help mature my eggs before collection.

I'm hoping to have something to transfer this time as it was emotionally draining last time to go through all that and end with nothing!

Ivf@IVFat43 I am also starting next week, expecting my period on Mon or Tue. Likewise had to store meds in drinks fridge😅

@Doremifasol @IVFat43 at least you guys have a separate drinks fridge! I had to store the meds during Christmas time and literally had no space for food 😂

@Emmalouise11 I’ll be on 2 x cyclogest pessaries a day but I have asked for my progesterone levels to be tested on transfer day as I think that might be my issue. I think 2 a day is the standard that clinics prescribe.

@kikisparks I’ve not really had much in the way of down reg side effects but the last 2 nights I’ve been so hot! Like waking up sweating! I’m on the progynova now so hope that stops. I was quite bloated at the beginning like @DogMamma16 but that might just have been Christmas food 🙈

@MF1981are you having a fresh transfer because when I was meant to have my one it was 2 a day aswell. But with this frozen cycle I’m having 3 a day

Hey ladies. Was wondering if you guys had any advice for me.

My dh and I have moved house yesterday. It was meant to be in October but was massively delayed due to issues outside our control. So we moved. Obv had lots of people in and out the house eg removal people, handymen, deliveries etc. We have tried to stay covid compliant but obv not always possible to avoid close contact etc.

We have already delayed ivf several months and I have a low amh (though only 32) and just want to get on with it.

I plan to isolate from now on. My cycle should be starting two weeks this weekend. I will need to take a covid test I think on about day 10 so 25 days from today.

If I dint get symptoms do you think I should test in about a week or ten days before I start the cycle to check I don't have it. If it comes back positive I have to wait 30 days I think.

Wait til the clinic give me a covid test in 25 days as even if I did have it I'd be out of isolation and probably test negative by then. But if I test positive then I'd have gone through all the treatment and have to wait 2 months til my next round.

How likely am I to test positive 25 days after exposure. Advice?? Thanks

@Emmalouise11 no I’m doing a frozen transfer. That’s interesting as this is one of the reasons I have asked for my progesterone levels to be checked on the day of transfer. We’re transferring our 2 best embryos out of 4 so I want to give them the best possible chance.
