Hi everybody. I am new to this. Hope you dont mind me posting.

My story so far, diagnosed with low AMH back in September 2019. Cycles were regular. Due to start IVF April 2020 but cancelled due to Covid. Cycles became irregular for the first time after my 33rd birthday. 1st cycle of IVF done Oct to Nov. Started on the pill so the hospital could time my period. Started on Suprecur and then injections. Injections went on for longer than normal. Only 1 good size follicle produced. Went ahead with egg collection with hope. Came around from the egg collection to find out there was no egg :(. Due to start 2nd cycle of IVF in Feb but cancelled again due to Covid.

Anyone been through Similar situations or been diagnosed with low AMH?

P.S to top it all off our CCG doesnt fund for low AMH so having to self fund it!

elsiegoggings · 05/01/2021 18:20

Just wondering if everyone's clinics are still open in the lockdown?

Gardenlady543 · 05/01/2021 18:25

@BMP33 welcome! I’m sorry you’ve had the next cycle cancelled and to hear about the last cycle. From what I know opinions on how to treat people with a low AMH can vary by clinics. Are you paying privately and had the cycle cancelled? Is that normal in your area.

BMP33 · 05/01/2021 18:29

Hi @Gardenlady543. Im currently going through this via an assisted conception unit at our NHS local hospital hence why cancelled as the nurses have been redployed to other wards. Do you know if there are specific clinics that specialise in low AMH?

Gardenlady543 · 05/01/2021 18:33

@BMP33 if you’re paying anyway then you are probably going to speed up getting on with treatment without delays in a private clinic. And with a low AMH time is of the essence. I’m not an expert in this area, I have seen threads about it where different clinics are discussed, so you may want to have a browse of past threads. I have a friend that has done a lot of research, where are you geographically?

BMP33 · 05/01/2021 18:36

@Gardenlady543 my husband and I was having that discussion whether we go privately in view of whats happened. We are based in South West London. :)

Gardenlady543 · 05/01/2021 18:49

@BMP33 that’s great that you’re in London, you’ll be close to some really good clinics.

My friend who has researched this has suggested:
Kings fertility
Create
Evewell
Fertility plus
Fertility and gynaecology academy

Maybe start having a look at the websites and past posts.

There are probably people in this thread who will know more than me and could comment too.

I think if you’re with NHS but paying and having your cycles cancelled, if it were me I would be moving privately ASAP.

BMP33 · 05/01/2021 19:57

@Gardenlady543 thanks for your help. Will use that list and have a browse.

If anyone else has any advice then let me know :)

MF1981 · 05/01/2021 20:37

@elsiegoggings I spoke to my clinic today (private) and they said they’re continuing as is for now so to carry on with appointments and medication. I have a scan tomorrow so they called me to the covid screening questions so I thought I’d ask. I know last time they put staff on furlough rather than redeploying them to the nhs so hopefully they’ll stay open this time.

Freya2015 · 05/01/2021 20:41

Hi
Did anyone take northesterone 5mg for 5 days to induce period?

Mancbear88 · 05/01/2021 21:29

@Freya2015 I’m not sure how much it was but I took noristorene to induce a period. Not my favourite drug makes me a horrible person 😂

Freya2015 · 05/01/2021 21:41

@Mancbear88 did you take it 3x a day for 5 days?

Mancbear88 · 05/01/2021 22:14

@Freya2015 just checked my medication (doing same next cycle as last) 5mg three times a day for 5 days yep

Freya2015 · 05/01/2021 22:19

@Mancbear88 thanks for checking how long did it take to bring on your bleed?
I finish taking it on 8th Jan

Mancbear88 · 05/01/2021 22:25

@Freya2015 4 days last time

MF1981 · 06/01/2021 11:19

Morning all. Had my down reg scan this morning and all good. Ovaries were quiet and lining was 2.5. Start progynova tomorrow and then next scan is 2 weeks tomorrow when I should hopefully be ready to book in the transfer. Hoping for transfer 3 weeks today 🤞🏻. January is the longest month ever anyway but feel like this January will be like a year!

Hi

I hope you don’t mind me jumping on your post. I am currently doing my 2nd round of IVF. I am currently taking prostap and have first appointment on friday. The first round I ended up with one embryo but it didn’t work.

jm2020 · 06/01/2021 14:13

Hi,

Spoken to the embryologist again today and he said our one little embaby is dividing nicely - fingers crossed it carries on and is ok to freeze tomorrow xx

@jm2020 oh yay that’s fantastic news!!

@Lola98 welcome! How are you finding this cycle? Are you getting on with the meds ok?

Sounds like everything’s moving along nicely @MF1981 Smile

Gardenlady543 · 06/01/2021 14:30

I have no updates so far, this cycle is the cycle off that my specialist said I have to have after my recent fresh cycle, before I can have FET and I’m expecting it to be about a week longer than usual. Of course I live in hope that it would have miraculously happened naturally, but otherwise I look set to have my period and start the meds sometime next week.

AnnaM1987 · 06/01/2021 16:11

@jm2020 that’s such a good news!

@DogMamma16 I would be frustrated to have to go through the long cycle for no reason but you must trust the doctors.. if you don’t feel confident in them, you are probably right to change the clinic..

I am now done with my first fresh transfer all 3 embryos made it to day 5 and were described as top quality... so we have frozen 2. I’m so so happy but of course everything still can happen.

MF1981 · 06/01/2021 16:18

Great news @AnnaM1987!

Fingers crossed for you @Gardenlady543

Sunbird24 · 06/01/2021 17:58

Congratulations @AnnaM1987, fingers crossed it’s a sticky one!

@jm2020 that’s awesome, rooting for your little embaby!

I’ve been playing phone tennis with the nurse at my clinic today, so on day 4 of my first cycle after the miscarriage and don’t really know what the plan is for my FET. Guessing this will be a test cycle and we’ll go for it next month, but would like to know for sure!

jonrik · 06/01/2021 18:10

Oh how exciting @AnnaM1987. Everything crossed for you!

I've had my Prostap yesterday so hopefully get a bleed next week to know when I'll likely have my collection and transfer a couple of weeks or so after.

IVFat43 · 06/01/2021 18:42

Well the meds have arrived today!
Good job I have a drinks fridge to store the 4 huge boxes, otherwise I’ve have to bin the food... it’s gone from a fridge full of wine, to a fridge with all the shelves removed full of meds....😂😂😂

All ready for next week!
