IVF Dec 2020-Jan 2021-anyone joining me?

Hi,
After 2 years TTC #1 we are now eventually on the IVF bus! Should have started in June but Covid put a stop to that and after lots of back/forth with our NHS clinic we've got our treatment planning appointment on Friday and will be on the long protocol so probably starting mid- end of December!
Would love to have some ladies join me!
I've been creeping on other IVF threads but haven't been able to fully take part.

Hey @kiza how are you? Yes ET is booked in for Thursday - eeekk! They’ll call me tomorrow with timings etc and to discuss thaw. We’re having both our A graders transferred so hoping they survive the thaw ok.

Has anyone else had an upset tummy and just massive tiredness and anxiety from the cyclogest pessaries?

MrsMeow2019 · 27/01/2021 12:47

@Kiza how are you? Yeah I tested again todya with a FRER ( 12dp2dt ), so most definitely out. I’m just not sure whether we carry on with all this or call it a day. I don’t mind the medical side of things but the constant stress and upset is awful isn’t it :(.

Hope you’re all having better cycles 😊 x

Hope everyone's doing okay? Booked in for my first scan tomorrow to check my lining. Currently taking 3 progynova a day 2mg and today I'm getting some sharp pains in my ovary. Is this normal ? Worrying somethings happening that shouldn't be

Kiza · 27/01/2021 16:13

@MrsMeow2019 I'm so sorry, I'm the early days I would say 'hold on, there's a still a few more days hope' but when you've been TTC for years you just know your own body.
Maybe a little time to reflect and digest, perhaps even fertility counselling to help gain some clarity on your next step- whatever that may be for you?

@MF1981 that's great news, when will you know if they have survived the thaw? (I don't know anything about FeT). So far I've just got horrific constipation from cyclogest! Spoke to a pharmacist who gave me some good advice.

@elsaesmeralda sorry I've not had that medication so unable to advise?

Thanks @Kiza - they said they’ll call in the morning around 9 or 9.30ish if there’s a problem so just hoping we don’t get a call before we get there.

@elsaesmeralda are you doing FET?

elsaesmeralda · 27/01/2021 16:45

@MF1981 I am yes tomorrow will be cycle day 12

Nlm77 · 27/01/2021 18:11

@Kiza thank you for asking. Monday morning the embryologist called and said the 7 cell was still cells but the 9 cells was a blastocyst, she then went on to say it was a grade 3CC and she would advise against transferring as it would use a cycle. I was distraught, I asked her to call me back in 2 hours, in that time I decided I was giving my embie a chance, she called me back an hour later and told me it had improved and was a 3CB (not a major improvement but to me it was defiantly a sign to give it a chance) so I had ET on Monday at 11.30am, just keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you so much for asking, I really appreciate it. Now part of the nail biting TWW club x

Kiza · 27/01/2021 18:20

@Nlm77 awww that's sweet that in such a short time there was improvement. I'm a big believer in signs and glad you trusted your intuition. There's a reason for everything, even if we don't know what it is at the time.

@MF1981 fingers crossed the phone is silent for you tomorrow and ET goes as planned ☺️

I've been walking every day, just gently for 20 mins, still feel tender from EC but have read so much that trying to get some small movement in the body helps with implantation and let's face it in lockdown I spend about 23 hours sitting or lying down!

@elsaesmeralda if you’re on down reg drugs as well you won’t be ovulating or anything like that. They’ll check your ovaries at your scan too. If you’re worried then give the clinic a call?

Thanks @Kiza I’ll let you know what happens!

onlyhereforthefood · 27/01/2021 20:00

My period came today!

Starting frymadel and progynova tomorrow, eek!

elsaesmeralda · 27/01/2021 20:16

@MF1981 thanks for the info. I'm only on progynova and being told at the scan when to start ultrogestan pessaries. First ever cycle and fet so all new to me and wondering what's normal and what's not!

Emmalouise11 · 28/01/2021 09:17

@MF1981 good luck today hope all goes well x

starkid · 28/01/2021 12:10

I just had a call from the clinic re. my other embryos, and they said they're going to give them another day before looking to freeze any, making it 7 days after they were collected last Friday.
Has anyone else had/heard of embryos having such a gap between collection and freezing? Do you think that's a hint that it isn't looking so positive?

elsaesmeralda · 28/01/2021 13:36

@starkid I've read about day 7 blastocysts. They are slow growing, but can be viable healthy babies. I'm sure they know what they're doing and are in good hands with the embryologists
@MF1981 good luck today

I've had my first scan, my lining was 6.something, can't remember lol got to carry on til another scan Tuesday and then see how it's looking. My ovaries are quiet, no follicles or cysts and no signs I ovulated so the pains are a mystery!

MF1981 · 28/01/2021 14:19

Thanks guys - all done and 2 A grade embryos on board! The doctor came in and asked if we were sure we wanted to transfer 2 which I found odd because we were recommended to do so by a doctor and the embryologist.

JVB1 · 28/01/2021 15:04

Hi everyone, my first post here!
I had my first FET on Monday and I'm already overthinking everything. I had a day 6 blastocyst transfered who was graded A. I'm trying to relax and enjoy some rest time at home (took the 2 weeks off work as got a very physical job). I've been going for walks and doing yoga as well as eating loads of fruit and veg. My husband works away and has so far missed all the important days such as egg collection and embryo transfer. I've now just been told he won't make it home for my pregnancy blood test day. I'm really devastated as I feel I'm doing this totally alone now. If my results negative I'll not have him here to look after me- and if its positive I'll not have him to celebrate with and will be breaking the news over the phone. Not how I imagined our fertility journey to be. So turning to you guys for support Smile

starkid · 28/01/2021 15:19

@MF1981 - well done great news, and both A grade!
@JVB1 - that's really hard to go through, I'm sorry to hear it, you've done well to do it all quite alone so far, so not much to say except well done xx

elsaesmeralda · 28/01/2021 15:43

@JVB1 I second what @starkid try not to overthink it as sometimes things just can't be helped and being worried/upset isn't good for you at the moment, unfortunately life can throw things at us sometimes but you have to think positively that you've got an embryo on board. I know these things you want to share with your husband and I'm sure he feels exactly the same way. Well done on the healthy eating too, I hope I can do just as well when it's time for my transfer!!

elsaesmeralda · 28/01/2021 15:43

@MF1981 wow two on board! Wishing you lots of luck Smile

MF1981 · 29/01/2021 09:30

Thanks guys. I’m ok but feel very conscious of every move I make - I bent down to take my shoes off and thought oh no I shouldn’t be bending! Had slight cramping yesterday and during the night but all seems quiet this morning. I’m tired but I guess that’s due to the excitement and getting up early yesterday - it was a long day!

starkid · 29/01/2021 10:28

Ahhh they clinic rang and on day 7, they managed to freeze a grade a/b blastocyst! It was a slow grower and yesterday the cells on the outside didn't look the right number even though it was a blastocycst, so they left it one more day and it now looks really good apparently.

Such a weight off my chest knowing we still have one in the freezer in case this cycle fails, and don't have to spend thousands and go through quite as much drama right away, as where I am we're only given one fresh and one frozen cycle on the nhs.

Emmalouise11 · 29/01/2021 10:59

Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼 @MF1981

@starkid great news best of luck x

MF1981 · 29/01/2021 11:06

Great news @starkid

elsaesmeralda · 29/01/2021 11:15

@starkid yay great news

MF1981 · 30/01/2021 10:46

So I’m 2 days post transfer and woke up this morning feeling like I’d done about 50 sit ups but lower down in my abdomen than doing actual sit ups if that make sense? Is this normal after a transfer?
