IVF Dec 2020-Jan 2021-anyone joining me?

Hi,
After 2 years TTC #1 we are now eventually on the IVF bus! Should have started in June but Covid put a stop to that and after lots of back/forth with our NHS clinic we've got our treatment planning appointment on Friday and will be on the long protocol so probably starting mid- end of December!
Would love to have some ladies join me!
I've been creeping on other IVF threads but haven't been able to fully take part.

@starkid yes definitely in the same area, when I lift my legs up (to put on shoes), walking etc. They say it can take up to a week to feel back to normal as your ovaries are still swollen from the stims and you're still bruised from the procedure. I'm resting but trying a small 20 minute walk each day.
Also using the back door the cyclogest is a no no for me after having orange poop and following through when I trump! 😂😂💨💨

@Nlm77 the 6 cell sounds like the front runner and it's good it's become an even number. Hopefully it'll turn into a blast by tomorrow for your transfer.

@Emmalouise11 that's great news and yes a fab birthday present for tomorrow!

@MF1981 fab news, and still a few more days for it to thicken also!

@Kiza - oh my 🤣 glad I've got the crinone gel then! Was it painful to have the transfer? Also to answer your question from earlier, my test date is 8th Feb, 17 days after egg collection! Gonna be a loooong wait...

Kiza · 24/01/2021 09:47

@starkid I was sedated for transfer due to vaginismus so just had a lovely quick sleep ☺️
Keep up with the parcetomol and I'm still refraining from hoovering/mopping/carrying the food shop but am trying my short daily walks very slowly to keep a bit of blood flow.
Also still eating Brazil nuts, pomegranate juice, lots of veggies etc

@Kiza I’ve started the cyclogest this morning. Last time I found I had loads of discharge from it and it wrecked my underwear so any tips are most welcome!

Kiza · 24/01/2021 10:54

@MF1981 you can back door? I think I have sensitive bowels which is probably why I ended up with those symptoms! 😂 vaginally I try lying down for 30 mins (whilst I'm having my morning cuppa) and then I've just bought some basic pants from the supermarket and use a pant liner.
Also after the 30 minute lie down I give myself a wash down below and that seems to help get rid of most of the milky discharge so then it's just the oily stuff to contend with the rubbish pants and liners.
My left ovary feels very sore today so think it'll be lying in bed all day whilst DP does all the house chores ☺️

@Kiza I also have sensitive bowels so don’t think that’s a good idea! I’ve been lying down for half an hour after putting them in - last time I found they seemed to leak through liners.

MrsMeow2019 · 24/01/2021 16:53

@Lindyloolou that's lovely news about your scan :D congratulations

@Kiza Yay on the fertilized egg, sending good vibes and hoping for BFP for you! I was told to test 14 days pot Embryo transfer which is Friday 29th. It does seem ages doesn't it. I've already stupidly been testing. Did one 7dp2dp to check for trigger - BFN. Did another today (10iu ICs), BFN again, not even a hint of a line. Feel quite deflated today :(

@starkid Congratulations on 7 eggs! And yes I felt sore for about a 5-6 days after EC, still getting random AF type pains but they seem to come and go

@onlyhereforthefood and starkid I had mcdonalds after EC too lol....didn't vomit though...

@Nlm77 I've read about a few ladies having success with those numbers, it's great you ahve 2 to transfer :)

Lindyloolou · 24/01/2021 17:10

Thanks @MrsMeow2019 I tested 9dp5dt and it was the faintest of lines... in fact I cried thinking it was a BFN then when I went to throw the test out 10 mins later, I spied a very faint line but even then I thought it was possibly an evaporation. To this day my OH said he couldn’t see it. Tested again on test day, 10 days post... the line was visible after around 4 minutes.

@MF1981 I’ve gone back door this time with cyclogest - much less messy in all honesty.

@Kiza fingers crossed for you 🤞

MrsMeow2019 · 24/01/2021 17:15

@Lindyloolou that good to hear, I'm 9dp2dt. But my google results just seem to reveal loads of women with clear positives at that stage. I've ordered a FRER to try on Wednesday (will be 12dp2dt (if AF hasn't shownup)).

@MF1981 agree with @lindyloolou, I use same route - much easier

Lindyloolou · 24/01/2021 17:19

@MrsMeow2019 Definitely don’t lose hope yet. Still very early. You have a bit of a way to go yet. The wait is excruciating though so I know it’s easier said. The line wasn’t instant until around 12/13 dp5dt (FR pg tests). I’ve only just started to get symptoms at 7 weeks (nausea and sore boobs) too. I honestly was convinced it hadn’t worked. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. X

Lindyloolou · 24/01/2021 18:43

@Nlm77 lm currently over 7 weeks pg with the only blast I had to transfer after 5 top graders were pgs tested. It really does only take one. Good luck x

MF1981 · 24/01/2021 20:30

@Lindyloolou @MrsMeow2019 I’m not sure I could bring myself to go back door 🙈 I’m only just coping with the other way 🙄

MrsMeow2019 · 24/01/2021 20:43

@MF1981 it’s easier really , just insert as far as you can before finger reaches bum and then squeeze your bum - then it sort of does the rest by itself 😆

I was put off the other way by all I read about discharge and ruined knickers 😬

elsaesmeralda · 25/01/2021 09:41

Hi ladies
I forgot to take my evening tablet of progynova last night, do you think 1 tablet will matter??

starkid · 25/01/2021 10:24

Day 3 after egg collection, and got the call that although all 6 of my eggs turned into embryos, only one is grade B and 7 cells. The rest are B-/C grade and less cells (except one 8 cell grade B-). So we're getting the Grade B 7 cell embryo transferred today, then hoping maybe that 8 cell embryo turns into a decent enough quality blastocyst in a couple of days time for freezing.
Might all be hanging on this one day 3 transfer though. Not what I was hoping, obviously I wanted more of them to be higher quality, but I guess things don't always work out.

They actually suggested transferring 2 embryos but as I'm only 31 and it's my first egg collection I opted out due to the risk of twins.

elsaesmeralda · 25/01/2021 10:30

@starkid hoping this one is the one for you!

starkid · 25/01/2021 11:17

Now second guessing just transferring two today...! Will decide for sure once have spoken to the consultant there though.

Kev1984 · 25/01/2021 14:01

I’m quite a bit behind you all, having our second consultation this week. Sounds positive for many of you which is reassuring. I’m a bit lost with some of these abbreviations though.

Kiza · 25/01/2021 14:30

@Kev1984 if it helps there's some Feb and March ivf threads on here? They may all be at a similar stage to you?
Which abbreviations are you struggling with?
Some of the most used are:
EC: egg collection
ET: embryo transfer
OTD: official test date
5dp2dt: 5 days post 2 day transfer (obviously the days change)

@starkid 2 good runners is great, which did hi opt for?

@elsaesmeralda sorry was never on that one, best to phone your clinic?

It's now 5 days past EC and on the left side it's still really sore- hurst to cough, lift my leg up (to put socks on), laugh, even to poop. I know the consultant said he was 'really digging around' to try and find more eggs but man he's hurt me! Worried it may affect the embryo implanting if there's still inflammation and swelling?

Kev1984 · 25/01/2021 15:50

@Kiza thanks for that I’ll check out the other groups 👍

starkid · 25/01/2021 16:06

@Kiza by the time we got there the 7 cell grade B one was 8 cells, so they put in that one and also the 8 cell grade B minus :)

I'm sorry to hear it's still so sore for you :( yes they must have had a good rummage!
I notice the pain most when in bed I guess from the stretching motions, although it wasn't too bad in the transfer so maybe it's starting to fade.

MF1981 · 25/01/2021 16:15

Great news @starkid!

onlyhereforthefood · 25/01/2021 19:56

@starkid keeping fingers crossed for you!

still awaiting period :(

Kiza · 26/01/2021 09:03

@MF1981 do you have a date this week for ET?

@Lindyloolou do you have a 7 week scan coming up soon then?

@MrsMeow2019 how are you getting on? Still waiting for tomorrow to test?

@Nlm77 any news on your embryos?
