Ah @monsterad that’s so tough. You feel how you feel and you’re entitled to it. It’s not fair. I know that all pregnancy announcements feel like a punch in the stomach. Sometimes I even feel it with strangers never mind friends and family. Allow yourself to feel how you do and don’t feel guilty. Doesn’t make you a bar person - just normal!

monsterad · 12/09/2020 21:01

Thank you @AutumnHoping xx it's rough because they've always said they weren't going to have anymore.

I'm not especially close with them but I'll have to congratulate etc.

God, I hate being and feeling like this.

Birdladybird · 12/09/2020 21:37

@monsterad my mum sent me my cousins scan picture today. It’s her third. I’m so jealous. my DM doesn’t know we are having ivf so not her fault but I had a little cry. I am happy for them but why can’t it be me too!! For me it couldn’t have come on a worse day as I had a mini breakdown last night. My DH said I’m putting too much pressure on him and he’s worried about our relationship if I don’t get pregnant. Sad

monsterad · 12/09/2020 21:42

What pressure is on your DH though? Take it easy, it's absolutely fucking rough hearing pregnancy announcements

unknownscot · 12/09/2020 22:16

Thanks for setting up the new thread. I'm on day 5 of norethisterone. Reading everyone's updates and looking forward to being able to share mine in the new few weeks x

Minster2012 · 12/09/2020 22:29

@Rumtopf you've probably got your answer on the day 3/day 5 (though our clinic also does day 4 & 6 transfers) what @Lemongrass1 said is how we understand it too, & don't lose heart @79andnotout we had a day 3 transferred which was frozen at day 2 3 years ago as we only had 2 embryos & they didn't want to risk them - one of those embryos is now a VERY loud healthy 2 year old. We have had a day 5 embryo transfer in feb, and we are going for another day five this time over the remaining day 3 as in theory every embryo needs to go from day 3 to day 5 to become a baby so embryologists will always choose the day 5 first if there is a choice, but we have said we feel the day 3 is the better option as it's from the same batch as our son so we have good feelings for it 🤷‍♀️😘

@monsterad & @Birdladybird that sucks so sorry and we all know that feeling sending hugs your way xx

Rumtopf · 12/09/2020 22:43

@Lemongrass1 that was a really helpful explanation thanks. Because I doubt we'll get many eggs, if any do fertilise (last time we got 6 eggs, 4 fertilised, 2 failed between day 3 and 4, 1 fragmented at day 5 and one was suitable to be frozen but we got a bfn) then having them put back in earlier is a really good option to discuss with them.

@79andnotout thanks for sharing that, I didn't know you could have them transferred back so soon , so it's really good to know. I think we may end being in the same situation so it's handy to know it's an option. How are you feeling?

I've just double triggered but on reading my instructions again, I have to inject Buserelin again tomorrow morning so not even a day off! Feeling a bit shaky now and a bit anxious.

Rumtopf · 12/09/2020 22:50

Sorry I missed the next page. @monsterad and @birdladybird I'm so sorry you've been faced with that. It's so difficult and while you're going through all of this it feels so much more poignant and personal.
Why does he feel you're putting too much pressure on him? Does your clinic offer a counselling service that might help you both?

Good luck @Minster2012 when do you think your transfer will be? Lovely to hear you've had one wonderful success already.

thefishthatcouldwish · 13/09/2020 01:29

@UncleBrynsfishingtrip hiya. Good luck for Monday.

Feeling a bit down. Lack of sleep not helping. ( woke up again at 1 am). Have convinced myself it hasn’t worked. Having odd bit of crampy tummy.

I had a 2 embryo day 3 transfer which thanks to Google has me feeling a little bit more deflated.

79andnotout · 13/09/2020 07:32

@thefishthatcouldwish I've been having cramps on and off throughout the whole week since transfer. It feels like my period is coming and then stops, and it's especially noticeable at night. I think it's just a side effect from the cyclogest. Maybe you're having similar side effects?

Good to hear a positive story with a younger embryo @Minster2012!

JenniferRo28 · 13/09/2020 07:39

@HavingFaith thank you 😊 feeling relatively calm after scan so going to enjoy it while it lasts haha x

@ivfjourney5 hope you feel better soon 😘 x

@thefishthatcouldwish hope you managed to fall back over and get a couple hours sleep x

LKSF · 13/09/2020 09:18

AF arrived today so I can start the Progynova and Fyremadel tomorrow 🥳

Hope everyone has lovely days in the sunshine and gets some Vitamin D 🥰 x

thefishthatcouldwish · 13/09/2020 10:00

Bit gutted clinic had rang yesterday the last two didn’t make it so we have one in freezer.

Dunno why I’m gutted.

LKSF · 13/09/2020 13:23

@thefishthatcouldwish I’m so sorry to hear that but just concentrate on that one little fighter you have🤞🏼🤞🏼 X

LKSF · 13/09/2020 13:25

Just wondered if anyone’s used the fyredamel injections? Where abouts in the skin do you inject? I need to do it tomorrow morning so I can’t speak to my clinic before then! The leaflet shows the front of your thigh but I swear they told me my stomach 🙈😩

Alexm06 · 13/09/2020 13:33

@LKSF the nurse told me to do it into my stomach and made me actually do one with her. I found after I injected I had a tiny bit of swelling and a bit red and itchy but all went down after like an hour.

ivfjourney5 · 13/09/2020 13:43

@LKSF I did the stomach as well. As @Alexm06 said you'll probably get some redness/stinging but it's totally normally so don't worry

JandL2020 · 13/09/2020 13:55

@LKSF I asked my nurse this. You inject into the abdomen as usual (under the belly button area) the first time I injected with this one it really hurt and almost felt blunt. The next one I looked a little closer at the needle - if you look closely it has a flat blunt side and the other side has a narrow point. Inject with the narrow point fencing upwards - for some reason I just found it helped going in. Also sitting helps whilst injecting with this one. Top tip from nurse was also top squeezing after you’ve injected allow it to go in then gently remove. I got a bad rash on first attempt using this but after the first couple I got the hand of it and no rash. Good luck xx

HavingFaith · 13/09/2020 14:00

@thefishthatcouldwish sorry you didn’t get the update you were hoping for, but glad you have the one frozen ☺️ When will you be able to do a FET?

@JandL2020 how are you feeling? Hope transfer goes well tomorrow! Will be thinking of you x

@Rumtopf I think you have your EC tomorrow? If so, hope it goes perfectly!x

@KassT @AutumnHoping @JenniferRo28 hope your scans go well tomorrow!

Sorry to anyone I’ve missed but sending positive vibes to everyone!x

thefishthatcouldwish · 13/09/2020 14:10

@HavingFaith we have one in freezer and and also had put two back in on Thursday which the embryologist called beauties on the phone.

I just wanted more reassurances which I know sounds crazy.

This whole journey is such a long one with so many twists.

JandL2020 · 13/09/2020 14:27

@HavingFaith feeling surprisingly calm and exhausted in equal measure. Went for a walk this morning felt so unfit and can still feel discomfort after egg collection although it is a lot better. I was just saying to my OH can’t believe have got this far and It’s actually happening. I’ve discovered that elderflower cordial and tonic water is nice alternative to a gin and tonic.
Is anyone cutting out caffeine completely? I do love a cuppa in the morning. What’s good to eat in TWW? X

KassT · 13/09/2020 15:05

@HavingFaith thank you 😊 so sweet of you to remember everyone's progress. How are you doing? Hope you get a good rest after your ET?

@JandL2020 its a nice day today to get out for a walk, hope you enjoyed that. I don't think I can cut out caffeine completely, I need my morning coffee to wake me up, but Im only drinking half a cup now.

@thefishthatcouldwish I'm sorry for the 2 embryos that didn't make it, I hope the one in the freezer will be the one! 🤞🏻 Will you be doing FET this cycle then?

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday x

thefishthatcouldwish · 13/09/2020 15:08

Yes we had a Fresh cycle this cycle resulting in the one Frostie and the two they put back on Thursday.

Evey43 · 13/09/2020 15:11

@thefishthatcouldwish I’m sorry you’re feeling down, each one after EC feels like a loss. You still have two ‘beauties’ cooking at the moment and one frostie, that’s a good place to be 😊

@JandL2020 good luck tomorrow. I think anything that is good in pregnancy is good for the tww.

@HavingFaith how are you feeling today?

Xx

HavingFaith · 13/09/2020 15:52

@thefishthatcouldwish ahh yes!! Sorry, I got all muddled up! I’m just a day behind you ☺️

@JandL2020 glad you’re feeling nice and chilled! I agree, think foods that are good for pregnancy are good in tww. I don’t drink regular tea or coffee anyway so caffeine wasn’t an issue for me. I have been sticking to my usual peppermint tea.

Thanks @KassT and @Evey43 I’m feeling pretty good. Apart from a long walk each day I’ve been taking relaxing to a whole new level! Literally only leave bed to shower and eat 🤣
The only ‘symptom’ I have is a heavy feeling At the very bottom of my stomach (which is a hope is a good sign?!) It’s not crampy, but I feel very aware of my uterus haha! but other than that, absolutely nothing! I thought my boobs would be sore from all the progesterone but they feel completely normal

How are you feeling @evey43?
