@Fightingtobepositive I don’t think that’s the case - your fertility clinic will be the experts here. I genuinely believe it was too soon so see the sac in the scan you had. Particularly if it wasn’t transvaginal. Even when your clinic do scan you - it won’t be by ultrasound as it isn’t as reliable. General radiographers looking for fluid or the like won’t be as tuned into looking for early pregnancy as the experts. I know you will continue to worry, but please try and take some comfort in what others have said here that it really is too early to see anything. And that your blood results are positive. Covid aside, I don’t think you would be seen any sooner for the very reason that results wouldn’t be accurate. I think it’s unfair that the hospital said anything to you - discharging you with this worry. But keep positive x

Minster2012 · 06/10/2020 09:07

@Fightingtobepositive you wouldn't be able to see anything at that stage unless it was a TV scan. Even on a TV scan it's would be very difficult. I've had numerous scans at that stage last time. If your hcg is doubling it's very reassuring 🤞🏻

Fightingtobepositive · 06/10/2020 09:17

Thank you for some reassurance ladies. This group is a godsend right now. I’m getting to the point where I’m accepting it’s out of my control right now. I just wish we knew. I think because they were so flippent in their comment and then booted me out it’s harder. The thing is, when I was in there no one was able to spend longer than 5 minutes in my room so nothing was just sat down and explained to me. Just information thrown at me and then that was that, off they went.

@Minster2012 what’s a Tv scan? Was anything ever found for you this early? My hcg is going up, that’s what has concerned me over the ectopic 😖

poupou · 06/10/2020 09:18

@Fightingtobepositive so sorry for what you are going through. As others have said you need to be trained to be able to distinguish a sac that early and you are borderline at 4 weeks and some days and especially with a normal scan to detect fluids hence no clinic is arranging scans before the 6 week mark. The person that scanned you probably missed the embryo as currently is very very tiny! Its smaller than a vanilla pot seed! I know that any of these are not making you feel any better but try to calm down and breath! You have been through a lot and you need to be calm and rested for your pregnancy. If your hcg levels are rising as they should be i will be inclined to trust that the person that scanned you was mistaken and might bot even knew your gestation week.
@thefishthatcouldwish i am sorry as i am sure the stress is overwhelming. If you can not do some blood tests to check progesterone and hcg levels i would be inclined to ask my clinic to k crease progesterone as this might not be anything to worry about. Some bleeding early in pregnancy might be ok but also increasing progesterone wont do any harm and might help. Talk to them again if possible and i hope it stops

Minster2012 · 06/10/2020 09:28

@Fightingtobepositive TV is transvaginal scan, like you have for your egg collections and follicles, I had a number of them in feb after my IVF got a BFP but similar to you I ended up on hospital for other things and they found out my pregnancy wasn't processing, but I was scanned from about 4.5 weeks up to where I should have been 7 to measure growth and there was only minimal growth then none. If you had a scan on your tummy there's no way they would have picked up anything at your stage.

@thefishthatcouldwish sorry I missed your post, how far along are you? Again can I say that when my best friend carried my boy she had red spotting (on pads) from 5 weeks to 7 weeks. We saw a heartbeat at 6 which was reassuring but the whole thing was shit scary nonetheless. He's very much healthy. My SIL who had a natural non IVF pregnancy also did similar. Also fine. It unfortunately can be very common but also can be fine. Sending hugs

Lemongrass1 · 06/10/2020 09:59

@Fightingtobepositive I had a scan at 4w6 days due to past history of ectopic. This was with my first successful IVF pregnancy. I asked the clinic what the value of this was given it was SO early but they were jittery after the first transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy. Anyway they saw absolutely nothing- no sac no nothing. This was a vaginal scan with an experienced sonographer. I was actually really annoyed that they did that scan as it was so pointless. Anyway 2 weeks later there was a baby with a heartbeat in the right place. So please try not to worry. Xx

@Fightingtobepositive sorry you are having such a hard time. This whole journey is ducking hard.

I have a scan tomorrow in hospital nobody allowed with me but DH gunna wait in the car. Provided there is a positive test in morning. Only thing is hospital is two and half hours away.

Am 6 weeks tomorrow.

Fightingtobepositive · 06/10/2020 13:03

@poupou I’m hoping that they weren’t trained but I can’t help but assume they were because of the situation I was in, I just imagine they must have had to be. It was such a crazy thing to even get me from my room to the scanning area because of my covid - literally had to close every corridor off with security to get me there, I felt like a very high crimes Felin! I only see. One monitor I think, so that’s not a tv scan?

@Lemongrass1 so you were the exact same date as me having the first. That does make me feel a little more hopeful 🤞🤞🤞 why would they make such a thing to say I need to book another apt ASAP. I’m so annoyed that no one could even speak to me properly. My clinic has said it’s to early but I can’t help sticking with the negative comment.

@thefishthatcouldwish good luck for tomorrow I’ll be thinking of you.

I’m also feeling so much discomfort in my Lower back a bit of a belly ache etc but I am very unwell so it’s such a head fuck!

unknownscot · 06/10/2020 16:12

I got 22 eggs at collection today. ❤️

I've thrown up this afternoon and feel so shite 🤢

Sunbird24 · 06/10/2020 17:10

@unknownscot 22 is amazing, well done! Hope you feel better in the morning. I’ve booked a whole day off work for mine tomorrow and told them I’ll WFH on Thursday.

UncleBrynsfishingtrip · 06/10/2020 17:26

Good luck @Sunbird24

Sunbird24 · 06/10/2020 18:10

@Fightingtobepositive thank you, hope you get to set your mind at ease soon. If your clinic says it’s too soon you’d expect them to be the best informed!

Fightingtobepositive · 06/10/2020 18:16

I hope so 🤞🤞🤞 x

Minster2012 · 06/10/2020 23:04

@unknownscot that's fantastic ❤️🙌🏻🎉I also felt horrendous after my EC like I'd gone 10 rounds with Tyson! But they said a couple of mine were hard to get & so "had to rummage" urgh! Take it easy on yourself but that's a great number xxx

@Sunbird24 good luck for you tomorrow too! Lots of TLC afterwards x🤞🏻

@Fightingtobepositive & @thefishthatcouldwish hope you are a bit more positive and sending hugs x

unknownscot · 07/10/2020 09:55

14 of our 22 eggs have successfully fertilised. I actually think the next few days waiting to see how many we get to day 5 will be the hardest bit of ivf yet.
I'm very emotional this morning!! X

ChicaXS · 07/10/2020 11:24

Hello ladies

Sorry I haven’t checked in for a while. Congrats to all with their healthy pregnancies thus far and healthy fertilisation rates.

I recieved a call from the lab and of my 6 embryos that were tested, I only have 2 normal and 1 high level mosaic. I don’t know why as I should be pleased but I’m really upset even though I knew the odds! I’m saddened that 3 were abnormal and one is mosaic too. I know I have two healthy and should be pleased but I’m devastated?

I have another chance with the NHS to do another round however they won’t fund the PGS testing and they said that they would only do a transfer. I’m just concerned I would go through another round only to have a bad result? I could do a FET next month instead That I would fund (but NHS will release any future funding for me) and pray it will be positive. I’m turning 38 soon so just not sure what to do at this rate. So confused. I only want 1 child at this time and I’ve never had a baby before besides a TFMR which devastated me.

Desperately needing advice x

JandL2020 · 07/10/2020 11:36

@ChicaXS sorry to hear this. Could you transfer the ones you have currently? Do you know the quality of them? Could you have the testing done privately? If you have another round it might be worth giving it another go - not sure what the rules are about transferring the embryos to a private clinic for testing xx

JandL2020 · 07/10/2020 11:37

@unknownscot wow you must be feeling very crampy? Are they doing a freeze all? Hopefully they all make it to day 5 - it’s usually for some to drop off though x

unknownscot · 07/10/2020 13:06

@JandL2020 Oh I know, it's a great number and of course I expect some to drop off but it's still so sad to see the numbers go down at all.

I actually feel okay, I have been very lucky so far and not felt too bad. The Inhixa blood thinner injection has been the sorest!! X

unknownscot · 07/10/2020 13:06

@ChicaXS Sorry, I have no advice but you're in my thoughts and hope you have good guidance and support around you x

Fightingtobepositive · 07/10/2020 14:10

Thanks @Minster2012

@unknownscot that’s a great number.

@ChicaXS sorry I have no advice. But I hope your ok. Sending you lots of support x

Sunbird24 · 07/10/2020 14:21

I’ve come out with 16 eggs, the sedation wore off at one point and I remember being incredibly uncomfortable, the nurse said I told her I was trying to imagine a beach but it wasn’t working! The last song on the radio before I went in was ‘Sisters Are Doing it For Themselves’ which made me laugh as I’m doing this solo. Thanks universe!
