Morning ladies!

We hit our 1000 limit on the original thread! That’s 1000 messages of support and advice, celebrating every happy milestone, and being there for uncertainty and bad news too. Thanks @Mseddy for setting up our little cohort :)

Will try to tag the regulars, apologies if I miss anyone. @Custardandcream @nextweek @kikisparks @StayingPositive8 @Bruce2 @CardboardCat @MrsT36 @loulamay @MsNoons17 Argh, my phone is refusing to autocomplete properly - I hope that works.

Wishing everyone heath and happiness - whatever stage of the journey you're on xx

@MrsT36 The second test line definitely looks darker and its still early so hopefully you'll get a darker line on OTD.
I got a faint line on OTD and when i tested the following day it was darker. When I called the climic they said a line is a positive and the darkness can be affected by the concentration of the urine.
I haven't tested again since then as I think it'll cause me more stress if its even the tiniest bit lighter so going to try to wait for my scan in 3 weeks and hope for the best

Lepatz · 09/09/2020 12:36

@loulamay I'm so sorry to hear you feeling so low. Not being able to sleep makes everything that bit worse. I have everything crossed for you that this is fluctuating symptoms and not a miscarriage xxx

@StayingPositive8 I'm in Islington - the CCG says it funds 2 fresh cycles...

... but doesn't say if those include the frozen transfers too. (I suspect not - next door is Camden- which explicitly specifies 3 fresh IVF cycles and 3 frozen cycles).

@Pinkstars2501 The rant is totally fair. I feel your pain re the IVF lottery. I actually did quite well - as many CCGs don't fund anything after 40. Although I did start my fertility investigations when I was 38. How has so much time passed :(

@Custardandcream that's a good call - I'm going to put my questions in an email to them. Hope you feel less flat today. It seems normal for symptoms to fluctuate though :)

@kikisparks wow, that sounds pretty convoluted. Actually, I just looked up the NICE guidelines - I hadn't seen those before. They say "When these frozen embryos are used later, this is still considered to be part of the same cycle.". I'm going to ask the clinic now.

@MrsT36 Progression is good, and the second one is definitely darker. And it is still pretty early! So everything crossed for you for your next test x

@nextweek I'm impressed with your will power to wait for another 3 weeks til the scan!! I hadn't realised there could be such a difference in care after the 2WW. Betas would be so reassuring.

ps I had the wine. Three glasses of it! And today went for my first run since stims. I've had cramps and bleeding since yesterday morning, and I think pounding it out along the canal help with mind and body!

@MsNoons17 Hope you enjoyed the large white too ;)

Thanks @Lepatz although I do have one FRER left so we'll see how long I can hold out for! I hope you're not feeling too bad with the bleeding and cramps. That's great that running has helped, it always helps me to.

Custardandcream · 09/09/2020 21:28

@loulamay really sorry you feel that way, if it is a miscarriage then yes I think you should be asking for some investigation. I know what you mean about feeling like you’re letting people down, I’m sure they don’t think you are though

@MrsT36 I think there is progression and like you said it is early days

@Lepatz An email sounds like a good plan, hope you get some answers

It’s my OTD today and there was a second line! Think I’m going to buy some more tests to keep checking. The next 3 weeks are going to be rather long!

nextweek · 09/09/2020 21:45

Congratulations @Custardandcream that's fantastic news!! 2 weeks & 6 days to go for me...not that I'm counting haha!

MsNoons17 · 09/09/2020 22:24

Lepatz · 09/09/2020 22:55

MrsT36 · 10/09/2020 07:55

@Custardandcream congratulations!!! Fab news Smile

MrsT36 · 10/09/2020 08:34

This mornings line is lighter, so think I’m heading for another chemical. Going to take a little break for a few days until OTD and I know I’m out. Thank you for all the support guys and good luck xxx

Bruce2 · 10/09/2020 08:53

@Custardandcream amazing news congratulations xxx

I have my 7 week scan today - dreading it.
Honestly feel sick (not in a pregnant way haha!)

nextweek · 10/09/2020 09:02

@MrsT36 Try not to get too down about it, you never know what OTD will bring. Take care of yourself.
@Bruce2 ahhh exciting, good luck, will be thinking of you!

loulamay · 10/09/2020 09:18

@MrsT36 - take care of yourself. Time off the internet is no bad thing!

@Bruce2 - it's terrifying but I'm sure it's all going to be fab! DaffodilDaffodil

StayingPositive8 · 10/09/2020 09:28

@Custardandcream this is great news for a Thursday morning, so happy for you!

@Bruce2 best of luck with the scan today, I was so nervous before I went for my scan, so totally get how you're feeling!! Let us know how you get on!

@loulamay Yes I would definitely get further testing done. In the UK if you have 3 consecutive miscarriages they send you for further testing. And I would definitely see if they can test for auto-immune and NK cells. I know some of the testing here can be expensive but I guess it's all worth it in the end!

@MrsT36 So sorry for you test getting lighter. Be kind to yourself and keeping everything crossed that OTD might bring positive news

kikisparks · 10/09/2020 10:01

@MrsT36 I’m so sorry Flowers we’re here when you want to talk.

@Bruce2 good luck for today.

I’ve had a few tough days, went back to work on Tuesday, work know I had a miscarriage but not about IVF yet and one boss called me to check I was ok, I dealt ok with it externally but was so hard inside even though he was incredibly kind. Then yesterday another boss called to say he was sorry for my loss too, he said he wouldn’t try to say he understood as he and his wife have children and I started crying on the phone which I could tell made him uncomfortable. Today I’m working again, thankfully from home, and just started to feel really sad and crying again suddenly. It’s so hard because I start to think it’s getting better then suddenly everything is crashing again and it’s a real effort to hold it together. This happened after my last miscarriage so I know it’s normal for me- we went to NYC a week after we lost the pregnancy and a couple of times there I full on broke down over little things, I remember sitting on my bag in a train station crying my heart out. It was also an amazing trip though, it would be great to go away now and get a change of scene.

Just seen this I'm sorry it's lighter. Take care and I hope it's better news than you think xxx
loulamay · 10/09/2020 11:21

@kikisparks - I can hear the pain in what you've written and I'm so sorry that you're having a tough time. A trip away sounds great, but I think the UK rules might be getting stricter so not sure where you're allowed to go - even if you could hide out in a lovely hotel somewhere locally for a weekend, I think that would be fab. I think I am going to plan something for me and OH as well after what I am sure is going to be bad news tomorrow, just for a change of scenery as you say. It's great that your bosses are being so kind and I think you could totally ask them for a few days off if you needed. Yay for working from home - that way you can stay in your pjs if you want! Lots of love.

Bruce2 · 10/09/2020 12:03

@kikisparks I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this. It's awful.
I can totally empathise with your pain, I've been there. The bursting into tears at traffic lights, walking into Sainsbury's etc.
Please know you're not alone even though it does feel like it.
Hope you get away for an overnight somewhere, nice spa break or a log cabin and hot tub. Something different like you say

Sending lots of love xx

Bruce2 · 10/09/2020 12:08

Just on a side note and not looking to be insensitive so keeping short & sweet.

Had scan this morning and there was a heartbeat. Couldn't speak for crying. Hubby & I had prepared for worst, just lay there speechless.
Due date 26th April. Just praying all develops well from now until then.

Sorry if this upsets anyone. Not my aim I promise, just sharing journey as ladies had wished me luck xx

nextweek · 10/09/2020 13:49

@Bruce2 thats lovely news, I feel a bit emotional just reading your message!

I really appreciate you, and everyone here, sharing their journeys. As a 'first timer' its great to get advice and reassurance from those that are further ahead or have been through it before, its made me feel much less alone.

kikisparks · 10/09/2020 14:04

@Bruce2 thank you for your kind words, and I’m delighted for you that you had a heartbeat today! I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months Smile

@loulamay thanks so much for your message, I’ve been hoping hard for you that it’s good news tomorrow.

Some good advice, I’ve booked a couple of days away up north in a couple of weeks, at a very nice hotel so we can relax and connect. Looking forward to it now, just hope the lockdown rules play ball so we can go- it’s free cancellation if not.

loulamay · 10/09/2020 14:49

@Bruce2 that's amazing news! So happy for you!! Not insensitive at all - we are all rooting for each other whatever the outcome xx

MsNoons17 · 10/09/2020 16:29

That’s great news @Bruce2! Congratulations!

MsNoons17 · 10/09/2020 16:30

Sounds like a good plan @kikisparks something to look forward to.
