Hi, I’ve just taken my first cycle of Clomid and I’m on Day 10 of my cycle. We’ve been TTC for 21 months and this is our first go at treatment. Wondering if anyone else is cycling at a similar time? X

hi hope you're getting on ok!! I'm on CD1 waiting to start clomid on CD5!!

Bec18x · 31/08/2020 21:53

Hi, I'm currently on my first cycle of clomid 100mg and I take 2000mg metformin. I'm currently cd17 and not had a positive OPK yet but we bd at least every other day. I have PCOS and endometriosis with irregular periods. We have been ttc for 2 and a half years.
I was really hoping clomid would work for me but so far I'm not convinced! Hope you're getting on ok xx

FieldsAndSun · 31/08/2020 22:08

Hi hullaballoo Good luck! Sending you loads of baby dust 🤞

bec18x I didn’t get a positive OPK this cycle either. But I hope yours will come just late! Sending baby dust too 🤞

I’m spotting tonight so I think I’m out...I just want my period to start in full flow. Next step is HCG injections this month. I have been going to a private fertility clinic and they have suggested clomid plus HCG next as they think my issue is a progesterone issue.

Good luck both in this cycle and I’ll keep you posted on my next steps! x x x

hi! I have PCOS and we have been trying for 2yrs. I am on my 1st cycle of clomid, 50mg and 1,500mg metformin also. I got a peak opk on cd13 and I defo think I ovulated cd14 as a lot of sharp little pains that went on for over a few hrs and now I have tender breasts too. I am now 3dpo and it feels like this is the longest 2ww ever!

Xx

Bec18x · 01/09/2020 21:11

Cd 18 today and still negative opk 😔

Bec

Would refrain from using OPKs at all if you have PCOS as their use is not recommended. You should also be monitored whilst on clomid as this can affect hormone levels markedly; no monitoring here is unacceptable.

What has been done about the endometriosis?.

Bec18x · 01/09/2020 21:59

I just wanted to see if they would work but I've never had a positive. I had a scan on cd 7 and I had bloods on cd 2 and I have more bloods to have done on cd 21 to see if I've ovulated. I had surgery 9years ago for the endometriosis but nothing since x

FieldsAndSun · 02/09/2020 21:29

How's it going ladies? I got my period in full flow today so tomorrow is day 2 and I will take Clomid again (cycle 2) plus trigger shot and HCG shot...going through the process whilst keeping our travel plans at the forefront...DH and I have decided we will rent a lodge this winter in Wales and mountain bike/hike/do water sports...so I'm trying to keep the focus on our adventures and just go through the process, step by step with the infertility treatments, in the past I've become consumed by it and got very down when I've got my period but I'm actively trying not to do that this time...there's two things I want more than anything, a baby and adventure...so I'm trying to focus on the adventure when I feel low!

Curlyhairedbrummie · 03/09/2020 12:06

Hi all, can I join please? I am on CD 23 and clomid cycle 1. Been ttc for 20 months. Just had my day 21 blood results back which showed I didn't ovulate this month. Which is disheartening!

An adventure sounds fab! It's really important to have things to look forward to alongside ttc, it's all to easy to be consumed by it all!

Sarah5678 · 03/09/2020 13:37

Ahh the lodge will be lovely! Just what you need. We have also booked one for october for ourselves and the dog to help us relax and a little break from everything!
I have my day 21 bloods scheduled for tomorrow, hoping it will say I ovulated as I had positive opk and then lots of symptoms
X

Bec18x · 03/09/2020 13:47

@Sarah5678 I also have my day 21 bloods tomorrow! Not sure I’ve ovulated though x

Sarah5678 · 03/09/2020 13:55

@Bec18x ah do you!!! My day 21 is actually saturday so having to have them done on day 20 tomorrow. Fingers crossed!! X

FieldsAndSun · 04/09/2020 18:52

Welcome Curlyhairedbrummie Sorry to hear your tests didn't show ovulation. Perhaps the doctor can increase your dose of clomid to 100mg as a first step?
Sarah Bec I hope your Day 21 are positive, got fingers crossed for you!
hullaballoo92 I hope your'e getting on well too.

Second pill of clomid for me today and I almost forgot it as I went for a run this morning trying to forget about the upcoming appointments. I've got to admit I'm a bit nervous about doing the injections alongside clomid, but my private doctor is convinced it will help so I've got to try it!

Got my day 20 results! 62.3 she said thats good so to continue on current dose. Does anyone know what the level should be? X

FieldsAndSun · 06/09/2020 00:07

Hi Sarah, that's great, I think a level of above 30 shows ovulation, so 62.3 is fab

Bec18x · 08/09/2020 09:55

My blood test results have shown that I didn't ovulate this month Sad I'm going on 150mg clomid for my next cycle. Just waiting to see if my period wants to come or if I need to take Provera again to induce it. Honestly feel like it's never going to happen for me

Sarah5678 · 08/09/2020 10:35

Aww no @Bec18x I know it's hard but try not to feel too disheartened, it will happen!! They just need to get your right dose. I started spotting a little this morning, AF due on saturday so guessing this may be he start x

FieldsAndSun · 08/09/2020 11:28

I’m sorry Bec18x but please don’t be disheartened. They can increase your dose and if it doesn’t work there are other ovulation induction pills and gonadotropin injections. There are many steps forward. I’m sending lots of baby dust for your next cycle xxx
Sarah I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that the spotting stops. Sending lots of baby dust 💕
I’ve got my HCG injection this Friday (if my follicles are the right size). The HCG injection releases the eggs apparently....I’m not sure if it will make any difference to having clomid alone, the studies I’ve read said it doesn’t increase your chance of pregnancy in a natural cycle. But I think it’ll be good to get used to the process of the injection. If clomid doesn’t work, I’ll likely end up doing IUI/IVF that will definitely involve injections so I’ll need to get my head round it. Just hope he can trigger me there and then on Friday as otherwise he’ll instruct me how to do it and I’ll need to do it myself at home 😳 xxx

Sarah5678 · 08/09/2020 21:37

@FieldsAndSun thank you! The spotting stopped straight away, small bit of pink when i wiped this morning and some pinky discharge this afternoon and that is all. Secretly hoping that was implantation as I have very sore/tender boobs too! Not trying to get my hopes up though as my body is cruel and likes to play tricks on me!

Ah that is interesting with the hcg shot! Hopefully they give you it there. I am a nurse and don't think I could inject myself either, it's different when it is yourself!

Everything crossed for you x

Sarah5678 · 10/09/2020 13:39

Looks like I am out this month! Cramps and bleeding today 2 days early! Nevermind...onto the next cycle x

FieldsAndSun · 10/09/2020 20:23

I'm sorry SarahI'm trying to think of it in the way that even if clomid does cause ovulation, the average fertile woman still doesn't usually conceive first go...allow yourself some time to process and then its a new page, for the next cycle, fingers crossed for us all x x x

OP posts:
Bec18x · 11/09/2020 09:42

Sorry to hear that @Sarah5678 Sad

I've just had an appointment to discuss my options. My progesterone on day 21 was 0.3.
I'm going to do 150mg clomid for my next cycle and then if that doesn't work he said my next option will be looking at IVF x

FieldsAndSun · 11/09/2020 14:23

Bec I’m sorry to hear your progesterone result but I really hope 150mg works for you. Fingers crossed.

I also just had an appointment today, my dominant follicle is 17mm, he said it’s not ready to trigger yet but I should trigger on Sunday. I have two injections of suprecur and HCG to do and then another injection on Friday of HCG. He said he thinks I have a problem in my luteal phase as I always experience 3-5 days of spotting before my period starts.

The suprecur is to improve egg quality and the HCG is to support the luteal phase.

I asked if this doesn’t work what are the next options. I said could we try IUI. He said that he doesn’t think that will help the problem. He said he would recommend IVF next. He said then we can look at the eggs. He said I have follicles, there were 11 on the scan. But he said if these injections don’t work then IVF will tell us if the cause of my infertility is poor egg quality or potentially that the follicles are empty....

Hi ladies,

How's it going? I've just taken my Surpecur and HCG injections. HCG was Gonasi 5000 and it was really fine, I didn't even notice it. Suprecur was 2ml and it took ages to go in as we did it slowly as it was hurting. When it came out, I now have an itchy stinging nettle type rash, apparently that is a normal side-effect. Neither injection felt that bad...this is the first time I've ever self-administered any injections, I had built it up as the thing I wanted to avoided but it wasn't that bad...I guess with IVF there are a lot more injections...I had two today and another one in 5 days. I spoke to DH and said what if this fails, he said we've had 24 months of failures, at least we are doing something now...I do agree, it feels good to be pro-active now

Hope you ladies are doing okay x

Hi! Oo that doesn't sound pleasant!

Yeah exactly it is good to be proactive!

AF officially showed up today so 2nd cycle of clomid starts tomorrow. Not looking forward to it as it makes me ill but has to be done! Also going to try lose a bit weight this month too.

We are off to a lodge in 3 weeks with the dog, I will be in the 2nd week of the 2ww if all goes to plan again. Probs shouldn't go in the hot tub but I am so fed up with this year and can't wait to get away so I will be going in it, I can't let it completely take over my life! X
