Hi, I’ve just taken my first cycle of Clomid and I’m on Day 10 of my cycle. We’ve been TTC for 21 months and this is our first go at treatment. Wondering if anyone else is cycling at a similar time? X

My fingers are crossed for you @FieldsAndSun and sending lots of baby dust!
The thought of injecting myself scares me even though I’m a midwife and inject people/take bloods most days at work! I think if we do IVF I’ll be getting my husband to inject me.
My consultant told me to take the Provera for my period again which I’m dreading after last time. I don’t know if to start tomorrow and just get it over with or wait a few more days as my cycles tend to be longer.

Sarah5678 · 13/09/2020 16:09

Yeah I think I would struggle to inject myself too @Bec18x and I am a nurse! We make the worst patients don't we!

Can you just start the provera when you like? Did it make you ill? X

Bec18x · 13/09/2020 16:37

@Sarah5678 yes we do haha! And yes I can start it from now as I'm cycle day 30 and It didn't make me ill but my period awful, very heavy x

FieldsAndSun · 13/09/2020 18:11

Thanks ladies
Bec I hope your period isn’t too heavy but I’m glad you can take provera and start the new cycle now, that’s great, new cycle, new hope 💕
Sarah a lodge with a hot tub sounds fantastic. I would do the same, we need to still be able to enjoy the things we love despite TTC. Good luck for your second cycle of clomid! 💕

How are you all getting on?
I started my Provera again yesterday so a couple of weeks and I'll be starting my 2nd round of clomid 150mg. Trying to think positive for this round!

Sarah5678 · 21/09/2020 07:21

@Bec18x that's fab! Definitely try keep positive, it's so hard though!! I will keep everything crossed for you with the clomid! I am okay, hopefully I should ovulate on fri/sat, 2nd cycle of clomid now so we shall see. Have a feeling our lodge holiday is going to be cancelled due to this stupid virus, I will be devastated it has really been pulling us through the past few months!

Xx

FieldsAndSun · 21/09/2020 09:06

Hi ladies, we had an excellent distraction this weekend as on Saturday we decided a weekend to the beach was in order, we camped and woke up to the view of the sea. I even swam in the sea though it was brisk and I only lasted ten minutes! 😃
Bec Good luck for this cycle, I’ve got everything crossed for you that 150mg works! Sending baby dust 💕
Sarah Good luck for cycle 2! Sending so much baby dust. 💕
We also had a lodge planned for October, I’m so hoping it doesn’t get cancelled as it’s been keeping us going too! Hence I think the spontaneous weekend to the beach, we thought if we don’t get our holiday we damn well want a night! I’m hoping we will still be allowed to go on breaks though even if other stuff is locked down. We booked a self catering break, just us, and wouldn’t be mixing with any other households so 🤞🤞🤞

I’m on cycle day 21 today and have to go in for progesterone testing and AMH, my doctor wants the AMH to see how it is as it’s been a year since we last tested it. I’m hoping it hasn’t fallen too much, it was pretty low last time.

Sarah5678 · 26/09/2020 19:34

@FieldsAndSun that sounds amazing!!!!
Fingers crossed we both get to our lodge, it's just me, my partner and the pooch too so no reason we can't really!!
When is your progesterone test? And what is AMH?
I got my positive opk yesterday so today is ovulation day! Seen what happens x

Gee1235 · 28/09/2020 20:40

Hey ladies can I join?

I just started my first cycle of clomid this month I'm on CD12 and went in for my first monitoring scan today lining was thick but no follicles over 10 so nothing happening yet nurse said not to be too disheartened as it could still be too early but of course I am dishearted!

Did any of you girls go in for tracking scans, when did you start to see any decent follicles?

Hope you don't mind me joining my other half is so good but it goes over his head a little bit so it's nice to chat to people who get it! X

Sarah5678 · 29/09/2020 07:27

Hi @Gee1235 of course we don't mind you joining! The more the merrier, like you say...it's nice to talk to people in the same position! My partner is very good too and very interesting but sometimes doesn't understand it all.

I didn't get any tracking scans, my clinic said they aren't doing them at the min because of covid so all I have had was my day 21 blood test which showed I ovulated.

When do you get your next one?

FieldsAndSun · 29/09/2020 10:35

Hi girls,

Welcome Gee It's great to talk to other ladies about this journey. I am not talking to friends about it as I don't want our conversations to be dominated by TTC talk and I find it makes it more stressful for me so I've actually said we are no longer TTC. DH is amazing but there is only so much he can take! Lol

This month, I got a tracking scan done and all looked good with a 17mm follicle 11 days past ovulation and my progesterone level was 63 so perfect on paper but the witch got me two days ago. So I'm onto cycle 3 of clomid. I would have said this cycle was successful, the witch got me later than usual and I had less cramping BUT I had severe cramps 7 days after ovulation, I can't help but feel that has something to do with TTC failing this month as everything else looked good. I don't know what is causing this cramping, I get severe cramps every month. I've had tests and ultrasounds but they can't find anything.

I think we will do one more cycle of Clomid with HCG injections then move onto IUI with Clomid...I feel like the options are narrowing now and to be honest I'm feeling pretty exhausted. I'm going to try to pick myself up for this cycle, do some exercise, relax etc as the two week wait was very hard this month - I basically spent every day worrying I would have period spotting...at least this cycle we will be in a lodge on my two week wait and I will be distracted!!!

OP posts:
Gee1235 · 29/09/2020 12:51

@Sarah5678 mine is the same he really does try to be involved and interested but I think sometimes he just gets a bit lost with it all really bless him!

Oh that's good news that you ovulated at least that's a step in the right direction! At the moment I have booked for tomorrow and Friday and then see how we get on from there, if any follicles get to a decent size il have a blood test a week after to confirm ovulation or not but I'm not holding out to much hope from this cycle as there's not much going on yet!

Was that your first round of clomid or are you further on?

@FieldsAndSun

We are the same we've only told my other half's sister and one friend as they are going through it or have also been through it so good to get their views but we don't want to tell anyone else as it just adds even more to the pressure I think.

That's good news about the clomid actually doing it's job fingers crossed for your next round, lodge in the tww sounds perfect deffo good to have something to keep you busy!!

Sarah5678 · 29/09/2020 19:06

@FieldsAndSun great that it worked but I know what you mean. My last 2ww was torture, I kept finding myself going to the toilet and wiping all the time waiting to see if I was spotting! I was obsessed and it wasn't good. I am 3dpo now and haven't thought too much into it. Work is mega busy now that covid is picking up so that is passing my days, haven't had time to think! We go to our lodge on Monday (hopefully) so that will be my 2nd week so lots of distractions!!

Where are all you guys from?

FieldsAndSun · 01/10/2020 20:11

How are you getting on ladies?

I hope your monitoring cycle went well? Gee1235

Sarah It's good that work is busy and have a fantastic time at your lodge next week :)

I'm keeping all my fingers crossed for us this month girls x x x

OP posts:
Gee1235 · 01/10/2020 20:58

@Sarah5678 I'm from Sussex what about you?

Enjoy your trip to your lodge next week I bet you can't wait for a nice break away and a good distraction!

@FieldsAndSun monitoring scan was not so good still saying lining was good, lots of follicles but none getting big yet I'm back tomorrow and will discuss wether I go back for more scans or write this cycle off and up my dosage next round! Fed up with my body not even doing what it should be so frustrating 😩 hope your doing ok? X

FieldsAndSun · 01/10/2020 21:05

Gee I know exactly how you feel, although I had a follicle last month, I started cramping far too early for implantation to ever have a chance...it is exhausting...

Hopefully, you will get a follicle develop further this month, but if not, it sounds really promising to up your dose next month, I read online that most women will ovulate if their dose is increased, whether that is to 100 or 150mg. So good luck! Sending so much baby dust x

OP posts:
Gee1235 · 02/10/2020 20:52

@FieldsAndSun it is exhausting isn't it, sometimes it feels like one step forward two back just a pain in the arse!

Had a scan today nothing going on still, going back in for one more on Tuesday as my cycles are so long they don't wanna write it off just yet if nothing then il take provera again and restart, did ask about taking metformin aswell so gunna chat to the doctor about it on Tuesday but I think this cycle is a write off!

Thank you so much sending it right back at ya! X

Bec18x · 05/10/2020 16:36

I'm day 11 since taking my last provera tablet. I have some cramps so I'm hoping that my period comes in the next few days. If not then I don't know what the next action will be x

Dbop100 · 05/10/2020 17:00

Hello please can I join? On my 2nd cycle of Clomid this month, currently 5DPO... about 3 days away from my standard monthly starting to get obsessed AF countdown 🤯. We're really hoping this month works as my consultant wants us to move onto IUI next month. Wishing everyone lots of luck for this cycle x

Bec18x · 06/10/2020 21:25

Welcome @Dbop100 sending you baby dust!
I've finally started my period- just a quick question, I'm supposed to take clomid day 2-6 but my period is usually heavy. Today it's getting gradually more but still not full flow it's just when I wipe but it's red now. Would you still count this as day 1 or wait until tomorrow to see if it gets heavier and then count that as day 1 Hmm

Dbop100 · 06/10/2020 21:43

@Bec18x this is a very tricky one. Usually I would say to count tomorrow as Day 2 still... but is it more like spotting than a period? If it's no heavier tomorrow maybe call your clinic and ask?

Gee1235 · 06/10/2020 22:34

@Bec18x I had the same last month when I spoke to my clinic they said if it's heavier tomorrow count that as day one but it it carries on the same in the morning and doesn't get heavier then count today as day 1 x

Sarah5678 · 07/10/2020 08:15

Hi girls!
@Bec18x I have this problem each month aswell as I spot quite a bit usually before period and find it difficult to calculate cd2!
We are at our lodge now, it's beautiful and very relaxing. We have done allsorts and it has really helped distract from the 2ww! I am 11dpo today, had some brown discharge/spotting around day 8/9 and I have woken up today with very tender breasts. I just assume af us on her way soon! X

Bec18x · 07/10/2020 09:11

Thank you for the advice! I've woken up today and it a heavier now so I think I'll count today as day 1 and start my clomid tomorrow.
Glad to hear you're enjoying your time away @Sarah5678 x

Gee1235 · 07/10/2020 10:25

@Bec18x mine was the same so I would deffo count today as your day one ☺️!

@Sarah5678 hope your having a lovely and distracting time away! Make sure you keep us updated! X
