Hi, I’ve just taken my first cycle of Clomid and I’m on Day 10 of my cycle. We’ve been TTC for 21 months and this is our first go at treatment. Wondering if anyone else is cycling at a similar time? X

Hello!! Sorry I don't really know anything about provera as I have never needed it! Can you start the clomid without a bleed? How do you know when to start it?

I am okay thanks! Started my 3rd cycle today, it is working great for regulating my cycles. I have ovulated bang on day 14 both times and cycles have been 28 days but no pregnancy yet x

Emc16x · 15/10/2020 18:10

Hi ladies. I’m CD15 and still no positive opks. Testing twice a day. When do you normally peak after taking clomid? Is it like clockwork or can it differ? Xx

Sarah5678 · 15/10/2020 18:56

I think everyone is different, I always get mine on cd13 and ovulate on cd14 but some people can be different and some people need the dose increasing if it doesn't result in ovulation. Fingers crossed you get yours soon! X

The provera was meant to force a bleed but it didn't happen, so i've been advised to start Clomid (following a negative test). I've had one bleed since coming off the pill 2.5 years ago so for me, we can't rely on a cycle. Day 4 of 5 on Clomid, then its waiting with my fingers crossed to see if i ovulate.

How are you feeling after 3 cycles? Do the side effects get worse with increased doses?

Thanks for responding :-)

Gee1235 · 16/10/2020 12:29

Hey girls how's everyone getting on?

I'm on day 3 of my provera to start a bleed and then I will do 100g of clomid this time to see if that has any better effect!

They've also started me on metformin and it is kicking my arse constantly felt like I'm gunna be sick for the last few days and have to take it with food but don't wanna eat anything so catch 22 😩 hopefully will be worth it in the end though! X

Sarah5678 · 16/10/2020 13:11

@rungirl ahh I understand! I haven't had an increased dose, I ovulate on 50mg. I got awful symptoms the first cycle but none after that. Last day of clomid today and should ovulate next saturday.

@gee1235 that's great that they increasee your dose! Hopefully this dose works for you. Try stick with the metformin, I have been on it about 8 months now and it made me ill at first. I lost about half a stone in a week because of it! Now I take it three times a day and have no problems. If it doesn't settle you could maybe ask for the slow release tablets x

Gee1235 · 16/10/2020 13:19

@Sarah5678 yeah hopefully they work this month at least they upped it straight away rather than making me try another month! Oh really that's good to know I've heard a lot about it being horrible at first but it does get better so il keep trying with it it's just the nausea with it making me feel so shitty! How you getting on this cycle? I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you! X

Sarah5678 · 17/10/2020 07:05

@Gee1235 yeah it's really good they upped it straight away! I am okay, should ovulate next Saturday. Started my diet and that is keeping me focused and is a good distraction! If I don't get pregnant after this round then I will be reviewed and booked in for hsg x

AMMB · 19/10/2020 13:32

Hi I'm looking for some advice ladies!?

I currently have a 2yearr old who was a clomid baby. Second time around 100mg.

Trying for baby no 2. On first round 50mg awaiting day 21 results although was day 22 as they couldn't fit me in. Called today However my consultant is on holiday?
Now my period is here and I don't know what to do.....

Sarah5678 · 23/10/2020 22:07

So sorry for the late reply!! What did you decide to do?

How is everyone getting on?

I should have had my positive opk today but nothing yet so will see what happens tomorrow!

Gee1235 · 24/10/2020 03:27

@Sarah5678 hey! Just started first day off 100mg of clomid and finally starting to get used to the metformin I think thank god! Got first tracking scan on the 30th few days earlier than last month starting day 9 instead of day 12 but I'm not holding out much hope!!

How are you? Let us know how ya get on with your opk today! X

Sarah5678 · 24/10/2020 07:56

@Gee1235 oh good, glad the side effects are starting to settle! Fingers crossed for this round!

I am okay thanks, little confused as too why I haven't had a positive opk yet as it has been band on cd13 since starting the clomid. Still neg this morning! X

AMMB · 24/10/2020 22:24

I just took the same dose as the previous month. Luckily hospital called the next day ovulation was detected and to continue the 50mg.
I didn't want to miss a cycle!! I was getting sooo frustrated not being able to get any answers....
Here's hoping 🙏

babybumpfor2020 · 25/10/2020 11:15

Hope everyone is doing well, my first month of clomid 50mg had my follicle scan on Wednesday, CD13 and had 2 dominant follicles biggest 15mm. LH peak on Friday, fingers crossed 🤞🏻 ovulated yesterday!

Anyone had BFP yet?

Gee1235 · 25/10/2020 11:33

@Sarah5678 how strange! Any luck today so far with opk? Fingers crossed you got good news!!

@AMMB glad the hospital got back to you, so much waiting around the last thing you want is a wasted cycle aye!

@babybumpfor2020 oooh glad your tracking scan went well and you got your LH peak too! Sending lots of luck for you!

AMMB · 25/10/2020 11:44

@Gee1235 thank you exactly!! Never had a 26 day period in my life so clomid worked in that respect and ovulated. Just obviously earlier than anticipated x

Emc16x · 25/10/2020 11:49

No BFP yet! I did have a BFN last week but I could have tested too early?! I didn’t have any peak opks but had 2 days of EWCM so I’m crossing everything. My periods are so irregular so I’ve decided if AF doesn’t arrive by 1st Nov I’ll test again! Xxx

Sarah5678 · 25/10/2020 11:57

Hey!! Oo seems like a lot of positive news to hear! Fab!

Got my pos opk yesterday tea time! DTD last night as unable to today as we are both on long shifts! X

Gee1235 · 25/10/2020 12:05

@AMMB hopefully the start of good things to come then, fingers crossed this is your lucky cycle make sure you keep ya updated! X

@Sarah5678 yay I'm glad you got your pos opk in the end! Sending you so so much baby dust and luck!!! X

Bec18x · 29/10/2020 17:01

Hope everyone is ok!
I had my appointment today to see if I ovulated this cycle but my progesterone was very low so didn't ovulate again on 150mg clomid. She was going to discuss with the consultant whether to keep me on clomid or try Letrozole and then have another appointment in 3 months time and then if nothing works then I can be referred for IVF. I need to get my BMI below 30 for the IVF so I need to lose about 2stone x

Sarah5678 · 29/10/2020 18:47

Hi @Bec18x oh bless you! I started ww and lost about half a stone. It is so hard thought isn't it! When will you find out about the letrozole?
I have just got my next appt through today with my consultant on 30th nov, just a phone call.

In other news...my partner proposed to me yesterday!! So we are over the moon!!! It's going to be a great distraction for us! So excited!!

Gee1235 · 30/10/2020 00:59

@Bec18x it's such a rubbish feeling when it doesn't work isn't it! Hopefully they try you on the letrozole next and that works better! I've lost two stone just calorie counting the last few months but it's helps that all the tablets make me feel sick all the time so I don't wanna eat 😩😂!! Let us know how you get on!!

@Sarah5678 oh my god congratulations!!! That is deffo a good distraction from everything for you hopefully the start of good things to come!

I've got my first tracking scan for this round later this afternoon but I'm not feeling very hopeful to be honest! X

AMMB · 30/10/2020 20:58

Thanks @Gee1235 here's hoping. My consultant called me when she was back from her holiday and said I had strong ovulation so we will see. To continue on 50mg for the 3 rounds then if nothing will scan my tubes and can only offer me 3 more goes then would have to be private Ivf.
Bought some ovulation sticks this cycle and tested as I've never had a 26 day cycle before and didn't want to miss it again. 🤞 Got peak on Wed.

Congratulations @Bec18x

Hi!
Hoping to jump on a current PCOS thread and say hello.
Here's my story...My husband and I have been TTC since February when I came off the pill. I was on the pill for nearly 14 years and can't believe how much it's messed up my body! I can't remember my periods before I started the pill.
I had one natural period in August (140 days!) and nothing since. My GP referred me for a scan which shows polycystic ovaries, I was told my bloods were normal but the more I look into them I think they sway towards PCOS as well, I don't have any other symptoms apart from the period problem. I have been given Provera which I started taking a few days ago to induce a bleed but I have no confidence it'll do anything more than that.
We have been referred to fertility services but haven't heard back yet and due to COVID they said we are on the waiting list for an appointment!
A couple of my friends who I was on the journey with have both conceived this week which I am super happy for but equally now feeling even more alone with it all. I get the usual 'just stop thinking about it and you'll conceive' from other friends and family and omg!
Over the last few weeks I have been researching Clomid and think it's inevitably my next option, however I don't know how long this will take between even getting an NHS appt and starting the process, so have been considering the private route. Has anyone gone down the private route of Clomid and then been able to be referred back to the NHS for further treatment if needed? Or do I need to do the dreaded 'be patient' 😂.
Sorry for the ramble, and hello again!
