Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

Hey ladies ,

@SoNewToThis that's such good news, I wonder why they didn't decide straight away on a D+3 or D+5 transfer. I did a bit of research on that but didn't understand fully. Either way, 5 eggs are amazing. I am having a d+5 transfer, so today I get a phone call to let me know how they are doing and tomorrow a time for me to come to the clinic.

@JadeS174 I am so excited for you, hopefully, you'll be approved with abc and able to start your treatment as soon as your next period comes.

@Poppies2020 oh my days, that is super amazing news, I hope this line keeps getting darker and darker. not too long for your blood test either x

SoNewToThis · 02/11/2020 17:25

@Poppies2020 Your tests are looking good, I hope it carries on Grin I've had my embryo transfer today, it was a grade 1 9-celled embryo so they said it's nice and strong! They'll call me on Wednesday about the other embryos and let me know if I have the option to freeze them, I hope I can freeze at least 1 x

@MochaTea They said they wanted to see if one was strong straight away, and if it was they wouldn't delay it, but they wanted to check this morning before they made the final decision Smile How are yours getting on? Did the clinic give you good news when they called today? x

MochaTea · 02/11/2020 17:37

@SoNewToThis oh wow, that is so cool, was it ok, any pain?

Some of mine are doing great, just hoping we can freeze 1 or 2 eggs too in case this one doesn't work out, but I am hoping it will Smile
Onto the tww for you and fingers crossed x

SoNewToThis · 02/11/2020 18:20

@MochaTea I didn't really know what to expect painwise, apparently it's like a smear but I haven't had a smear done before so I was quite worried. I asked for my normal nurse to do the transfer because I was comfortable with her, I was definitely a lot more relaxed with her than I would have been with the doctor. I'd say it wasn't pleasant for me but there was no pain afterwards, and when you're watching the embryo being transferred you forget that you're uncomfortable anyway Grin

That's amazing, I hope you do get the chance to freeze them!

Yep, I'm already sick of waiting and wondering if a pregnancy test would show anything haha! I'm keeping everything crossed though x

Poppies2020 · 02/11/2020 19:10

@SoNewToThis So glad the transfer went well, now it’s just a waiting game! Have you got some time off work now? It’s so hard wanting to test isn’t it!? But I thought I would be really disappointed if I tested too early and it was negative. Both times I took a test at 10 days and they showed up a positive, although faint, then got stronger each day. I just have to keep everything crossed that this one manages to stay and I get a strong positive on Thursday. I’m keeping everything crossed for you too!! x

Poppies2020 · 02/11/2020 19:12

@MochaTea How exciting! So is your transfer tomorrow? x

JadeS174 · 03/11/2020 14:06

@Poppies2020 How are you? Was the line any darker today? 🤞🏼
@SoNewToThis Hope you're feeling okay today?
@MochaTea did you have embryo transfer?

I'm so excited to get started!!!

Poppies2020 · 03/11/2020 17:51

@JadeS174 It was the same this morning I think, not lighter or darker. (Todays is the bottom one) just crossing fingers that it gets darker tomorrow! When is your first appointment? x

Hi I hope you don’t mind me joining the conversation? I just had my first cycle with ABC. My egg collection was Friday 8 eggs retrieved, 5 were ok to perform ICSI on and 2 fertilised. I had embryo transfer yesterday it was a 6cell grade 2 embryo. I’m finding it so hard to stay positive. X

Poppies2020 · 03/11/2020 18:05

@Maxs1988 Hi! Of course not, the more the merrier! Smile What’s making you feel worried, just the whole process in general? x

Maxs1988 · 03/11/2020 18:24

Thank you 😊 and congratulations 🎉
I think because the embryo wasn’t perfect and 6cells instead of 8 I’m just thinking the worst. I google a lot which doesn’t help. I’m sure there are probably ladies who have had positives with grade 2 embryos.. xx

Poppies2020 · 03/11/2020 18:36

@Maxs1988 Yes I’m sure there are! I read that Grade 2 is still a good quality and I’m sure they wouldn’t do a transfer if there was not a good chance of it being successful. Have you got time off work? I tried to keep busy to keep my mind of it and only tested from day 10, as I think if you test early and get negatives, then it will make you feel so disappointed when you may actually get a positive a few days later. I had positive tests on my first attempt, but sadly when I had my blood test although it was positive, they said the Hcg levels were falling rather than rising, and so it wasn’t successful. I’m just keeping fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again and my tests stay strong x

MochaTea · 03/11/2020 20:53

welcome @Maxs1988 so crazy 3 of us had the retrievals on Friday.
Don't worry too much, of course, we never know if it's going to stick but I've read sometimes grade 1 doesn't work and 2 does, and 6 cells is still within range and your body can help it do the rest.

My transfer will be tomorrow actually at d+5.

@Poppies2020 Hope the line is getting darker today?! My initial scan is tomorrow!

@MochaTea Hope your transfer went okay!

@Maxs1988 welcome! Best of luck to you!

XxX

MochaTea · 04/11/2020 18:17

hey everyone, so I had my transfer today.
Out of my 8 eggs, 5 fertilized.
I can't remember everything as the embryologist speaks very fast but
if I am correct, today's embryo was a 4BC whatever it means and they were also able to freeze 2. Tomorrow they will let me know if the other two were good enough to freeze as well, but I am happy with that for now.

The transfer was ok, I could not feel a thing, apart from having to pee a little beforehand as I was way too full and could not hold any longer and the obvious exposure.
They will send me a report of all embryos tomorrow and my blood test will be next Friday, but I'll probably start testing on Wednesday Confused

JadeS174 · 05/11/2020 08:17

@MochaTea that's amazing. I have everything crossed for you! Hope you're feeling okay today?!
I'm just on my way up to London for my baseline scan! Hopefully can get the ball rolling soon! XxX

MochaTea · 05/11/2020 19:11

hi @JadeS174 how did it go?

@Poppies2020 how did the test go, any positive news?

Poppies2020 · 05/11/2020 19:20

@MochaTea Yes, I got a positive result! I had a hcg level of 178 which is apparently a strong positive!! I had actually lost hope, as I had cramps yesterday afternoon and was sure my period was coming, so I went today thinking the worst. I’m still in a bit of shock, praying I don’t get my period and all continues well x

MochaTea · 05/11/2020 19:28

@Poppies2020 great news, let's hope it keeps on increasing, when is your scan?
Did you feel anything at all before the cramps? Cramping pain is very normal during early pregnancy, so you can expect that for a while too.

Poppies2020 · 05/11/2020 19:37

@MochaTea I just saw you had your transfer yesterday, yay! How are you feeling today? Are you at work or do you have some time off? I did the same and had to pee twice as I drank waaaaaay too much! Grin x

@JadeS174 How did the scan go today? x

Poppies2020 · 05/11/2020 19:40

@MochaTea Yes I have felt off my food for a few days and the last two days have woken up feeling sick. I also have a lot of aches in my back, but I am a nanny so I am on my feet for 10 hours a day. But happy with all these things if so long as they are pregnancy signs and the dreaded period stays away! I think I am more nervous as it didn’t work last time, but this time I feel different and the symptoms seem stronger, so fingers crossed! x

MochaTea · 05/11/2020 19:47

@Poppies2020 I took this whole week off, I haven't had a day off this whole year and really needed it but I am a Private PA so I have worked a bit each day, unfortunately, but yesterday and today I haven't moved from the sofa, haha I know I have to go for walks as it's good, but I'll do that tomorrow.

I know how you feel, I had a miscarriage in April so if mine does work I'll only really relax when I am around 16-20 weeks really! ugh!
