Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

@SoNewToThis Thank you, me too! I will prob do a home test the day before just so I am prepared for the result. That’s good that it’s 18 already! Hopefully the rest grow more and you will be ready to go in on Friday. I’m sure you will be ok by Tuesday, I had some twinges and aches, but nothing that wasn’t helped by a couple of paracetamol. If you have the transfer on Mon, do you still have to work on Tues? x

SoNewToThis · 27/10/2020 09:58

@Poppies2020 That's smart, I really hope you get a positive! I thought that the tests could be done earlier, I imagine the 2 week wait is tough. How are you coping? I'm sure it will be, I may pop if I have to keep using the injections over the weekend haha! That's good to know, I have been a little worried about the collection Smile Yep, I might try and see if I can swap the Tuesday but my work don't know why I need the leave so I'll just have to see x

Poppies2020 · 27/10/2020 10:14

@SoNewToThis Yes it must be tricky when work don’t know. I was lucky that I told mine from the start, as I work such long hours I wasn’t able to make my appointments without it cutting into my work day. The wait is hard, but a bit easier this time as I know what to expect. Before, I googled every single thing I ate/drank but now I know so I can be a bit more relaxed. The collection will honestly be fine. You will be sedated before anything happens and they give you pain relief when you are asleep, so when you wake you should feel fine. I had a few twinges the next day but took a couple of paracetamol and was able to carry on as normal, just being a bit gentler with myself. The test is 2 weeks after collection, so I had my collection last Thurs and next Thurs is two weeks later x

@SoNewToThis@MochaTea How did your scans go today? x

MochaTea · 28/10/2020 17:47

hi @Poppies2020 - My collection will be Friday, I'm the first one which is good, I was wondering what would happen if I couldn't eat for the whole day Grin

my scan went ok everything is in place, so just hoping for some good eggs and as many as possible.

Poppies2020 · 28/10/2020 17:57

@MochaTea How exciting!!! How are you feeling about it? x

MochaTea · 28/10/2020 18:51

@Poppies2020 pretty calm right now, just had my last cetrotide and will do the trigger injection in just over an hour, I am doing acupuncture as well so will have one tomorrow but I'll probably start getting a bit anxious as the time approaches.

Poppies2020 · 28/10/2020 18:58

@MochaTea You will be fine x You will be out like a light and it will be over before you know it. Let me know how you get on, I will have everything crossed for you x

SoNewToThis · 28/10/2020 19:18

@Poppies2020 My scan went well, I'm also having egg collection on Friday. I'm so excited, I can't wait to take my trigger injection tonight! x

@MochaTea Good luck, are you nervous? x

Poppies2020 · 28/10/2020 19:50

@SoNewToThis That’s so exciting!! Fingers crossed for you, can’t wait to hear how you got on! x

Poppies2020 · 30/10/2020 18:10

@MochaTea@SoNewToThis How did the collections go today? Hope all went well x

MochaTea · 30/10/2020 18:39

hi @Poppies2020 it went great. They managed to get 8 eggs, just waiting for tomorrow to know how many fertilized.
I was ok with the sedation and very minor cramping all day but I did sleep most of the afternoon and felt a bit dizzy and nauseous but all ok and expected. Starting to feel better now.

Poppies2020 · 30/10/2020 18:42

@MochaTea 8 is amazing!!! Fingers crossed for tomorrow and before you know it it will be transfer day. How exciting! x

SoNewToThis · 30/10/2020 18:42

@Poppies2020 The procedure took longer than it should have as I had some bleeding that they couldn't stop. I have 9 eggs though so I'm really excited for the phone call tomorrow to let me know how mine are getting on Grin
I'm in a fair amount of pain now though, but the doctor and nurses think it will be back to normal ready for embryo transfer! x

SoNewToThis · 30/10/2020 18:44

@MochaTea That's amazing, I'm glad it went so well for you, I'll keep everything crossed for you Grin x

Poppies2020 · 30/10/2020 18:54

@SoNewToThis Oh no, sorry to hear that. 9 is amazing though and hopefully at the end of this process it will all be worth it! Let me know how it goes tomorrow x

SoNewToThis · 30/10/2020 18:58

@Poppies2020 I'm super happy with the number of eggs, and it's definitely worth a few days of pain! I will do, I imagine I'm going to be sat by the phone all morning waiting Grin x

JadeS174 · 30/10/2020 20:17

Thank you girls so much for sharing your experiences. It's so reassuring to read. I'm looking forward to getting started now. Good luck ladies!!! XxX

JadeS174 · 01/11/2020 17:40

@SoNewToThis @MochaTea how did you get on?
@Poppies2020 How are you feeling?

Have you heard whether this impending lockdown is going to have an impact on your treatment? I really hope not xxx

Poppies2020 · 01/11/2020 20:13

@JadeS174 I’m doing fine thanks. I did a pregnancy test today and there was a faint line, just like last time when I had a positive result. So keeping fingers crossed it gets darker each day! I haven’t heard about clinics shutting yet, I know they did on the first lockdown, but maybe this time they can stay open as an emergency service. How are you doing? x

JadeS174 · 01/11/2020 20:39

@Poppies2020 I've got everything crossed for you, really hope it works out!
I'm okay thank you, supposed to have my initial scan Thursday but wondering whether they'll be shutting or not? Will see if there's an update tomorrow. Xxx

Poppies2020 · 01/11/2020 20:58

@JadeS174 Have you been on their website? They have put a statement up saying they will remain open and treatment will continue as normal at the moment x

SoNewToThis · 01/11/2020 21:45

@Poppies2020 Congratulations!! I really hope it keeps getting darker!

@JadeS174 The lab called me yesterday morning to say that 5 had fertilised!! Grin I get my next update in the morning and they'll let me know whether I'm having the egg transfer tomorrow or Wednesday, so I'm just keeping everything crossed that the embryos have done okay today. I hope they clinics don't delay your scans and treatment, I'm glad they look like they're staying open this time around x

JadeS174 · 01/11/2020 23:01

@Poppies2020 ah great thanks for that.

@SoNewToThis that's amazing. I really hope it's more good news tomorrow. Keep us posted. Xxx

Poppies2020 · 02/11/2020 07:37

@SoNewToThis 5 is amazing!! Have you decided to freeze some embryos? Good luck for today, let us know how you get on!
@JadeS174 Thank you! I did another test this morning and it is much darker! I also have stronger symptoms this time such as nausea and finding the smell of certain foods really off putting! Last time my positive tests were really faint for about 4 days before becoming strong, but look at these two, the first one yesterday afternoon and the second one this morning x
