Abc IVF

Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

@Whitney93 yes, and if you immune to rubella then all steam ahead but if like me your not immune you would need to get the mmr done xx

Becky105 · 10/03/2021 21:00

Can I ask what evidence do they require that you have had the mmr? I had a call with my GP today and they gave me the two dates of my vaccine and booster but didn't send over any documents. Is that sufficient?

Whitney93 · 10/03/2021 21:13

@Icsi2021 ah sorry I didn’t realise this. It’s so heartbreaking when hurdles get in the way for you! 😖

This might be a stupid question 🤦🏼‍♀️ But does your immunity change for the MMR? This is my second round of IVF (2.5 years ago was my first) and I can’t even remember if I had just the blood test? I don’t remember having any additional injections prior to starting but I don’t know if it wares off or how it works? Sorry, should probably know and understand more about it x

Icsi2021 · 10/03/2021 21:27

@Whitney93 sorry im unsure as i found out i wasnt immune then went to my GP and there was no record of me having my mmr as a baby so chances are i properly didnt have it and thats the reason i wasnt immune, it is a set back when hurdles get in the way but we have to keep strong and smash them down 🙂 xx

StarryHannah · 11/03/2021 15:29

@Becky105 I think it depends on your clinic and your nurse. I remember having mmr in school and my parents made sure I had all injections offered when I was a child. My nurse took my word for this xx

Bec1985 · 13/03/2021 11:01

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this thread. I am currently on clomid but after 5 rounds haven’t had any success (it worked for conceiving my DS 3 years ago). I have booked a scan and initial consultation with ABC but wondered if anyone had been accepted there who has endo? I had a 3rd lap in January so hoping I’m in the best shape possible for IVF but wasn’t sure if endo was a problem...thank you in advance!

Beaglemum91 · 15/03/2021 10:28

@Whitney93 in terms of the SA, there is unlikely anything you can do now about that. Really he should be on fertility vitamins. My DH has been on the wellman conception vitamins that we get in a pregnacare conception doubly pack of his and hers vitamins. Depending on the SA he may want to look into taking omega 3 and coenzyme q10 but I would discuss that with the clinic when you have his results. And obviously a healthy lifestyle with exercise, balanced diet, no smoking /drinking/caffine helps. The reason you may be too late to do anything is that sperm take 3 months to develop and mature so whatever changes you make now probably won't be seen until 3 months later. So they will probably be effective for when you do IVF, but not for the SA which I assume you will get done ASAP. DH started some additional supplements after our first cycle following our review consultation which is why we're now waiting to start again until they've taken effect. It's such a pain with MFI, but ita just one of those things.

Hi ladies,

I hope you're all well!

I've been taking the bemfola injections and had my first scan today. I was told I am responding well to the injections. They showed me some follicles which were looking quite big.

Any of you ladies want to share your experience; what you were told etc after your first scan when taking the bemfola injections?

Thank you in advance ☺

Beaglemum91 · 17/03/2021 15:29

@Ivfmarch2021 at mine the just said that I was responding well, when I needed another scan, when to start my cetrotide and checked I had enough medication to get to my next scan. At the second the told me that I could ask for a print out of my follicle chart that she showed me so I could show my DH.

Ivfmarch2021 · 17/03/2021 16:01

@Beaglemum91 thank you for reply!

I was told to start cetrotide tomorrow morning. They said that I was responding well and showed me the follicles on the chart.

I have the second scan booked on Friday. Feels like it's all happening quite quick!

Beaglemum91 · 17/03/2021 16:07

Sounds like you're all set then @Ivfmarch2021. It does go so quickly once you start. I had scans Wednesday, Friday, Monday Monday Tuesday and EC Thursday so it all happened so fast, feels a but like you live in the clinic for about 2 weeks!

Ivfmarch2021 · 17/03/2021 16:20

@Beaglemum91 where did you have your egg collection?

Yes I can imagine. Fingers crossed all goes well xx

Beaglemum91 · 17/03/2021 16:31

@Ivfmarch2021 I had everything done at the Manchester clinic. Will be starting our next cycle there next month.

Hope everything keeps going well for you!

Ivfmarch2021 · 17/03/2021 16:46

@Beaglemum91 aww thank you!

I hope all goes great for you next month! Xx

CycleGirl20 · 18/03/2021 15:28

I just had a chat with ABC. We're trying naturally for another few months, then quickly to IVF. When I spoke to them, they said they'd give me a personalised success rate which surprised me as I'd expect if they only accept people within certain criteria it would be similar across the board. Did everyone get their own success rate? What do they consider? Might I get a really hight one GrinHmm

Beaglemum91 · 18/03/2021 15:44

@CycleGirl20 I wasn't given an individual success rate and in a way I'm glad. I think if I'd have been given one and it was high as we only have MFI it would have felt worse when our cycle failed. We've just gone on averages and the clinics success rate but not pinned ourselves to anything.

Hello ladies! If anyone needs some good news/positivity, I went for my blood test yesterday after my FET about 10 days ago (day 5 embryo). It's a BFP!! :D So now just need to wait out the first trimester (hopefully).

Hang in there! When you get the good news, it'll all be worth it!

Mellow89 · 18/03/2021 19:38

@indigocloud congratulations!!! Wonderful news! Did you test at home? I'm doing a FET soon. What grade was your embryo? :D

Beaglemum91 · 18/03/2021 20:01

@indigocloud so so happy for you! Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for you!

indigocloud · 18/03/2021 21:41

Thanks @Beaglemum91 and @Mellow89!

Re: question on test, it was a blood test ordered by the clinic so the BFP was based on HCG levels. I didn't do any home pregnancy tests before that so literally only found out via the phone call from the clinic.

Embryo was 4AA. But grading is really just one facet and doesn't determine results all the time. During the fresh transfer a few months back, I had a grade 5AA transferred and no joy there. Life works in mysterious ways :)

Good luck for your FET, @Mellow89! Keeping fingers crossed for you!!

Ivfmarch2021 · 18/03/2021 22:23

@indigocloud congratulations!!! Its lovely to hear your good news!

Ivfmarch2021 · 19/03/2021 12:37

Hi ladies, i had my second treatment scan today. I was shown 2 follicles which have responded well but the others not so much. I am feeling a little concerned that can this be normal? Has anyone else been in a situation like this?

I understand that it only takes 1 good quality but its a little downer as I'd like to have possibly seen better results to maximise our chances.

indigocloud · 19/03/2021 12:42

@Ivfmarch2021 Thank you!

Regarding your scan results today, that does sound a tiny bit on the lower end, but at the same time I've seen ladies whose follicle growth really catch up in the second half of their injections so perhaps give it a bit more time? Did the nurse say anything about it one way or another?

Ivfmarch2021 · 19/03/2021 12:46

@indigocloud she said we will see when I go for the scan on Monday but it is what it is sort of. I did ask about increasing the dose but she said as the other 2 have responded it wouldn't possibly make a difference. I don't understand why the others haven't responded as well lol

Beaglemum91 · 19/03/2021 13:15

@Ivfmarch2021 it does sound low but these things do happen. Everyone's body will always respond differently and will respond different on each cycle. It could be that bemfola isn't a good stimulater for you or your body just having an off month. I imagine they also don't want to increase it as it risks the 2 there developing faster and maybe going over mature and they could have no good ones. Trust that they know what they are doing and that your body is doing what it can too.
