Abc IVF

Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

I’ve received my call earlier than expected and they seem to be happy about my hCG levels :) They’ve booked me in for the early pregnancy scan in 3 weeks time. I’m super happy but a bit scared to get too excited right now...Thank you everyone for your wishes and for sending me luck! I wish you the very best too and any questions let me know.

ForeverHopeful17 · 27/01/2021 14:01

Preston12 · 27/01/2021 17:05

Hi ladies I feel so disappointed my hormone levels are 8000 today so very high that means I will have egg collection Friday but a frozen cycle and have embryo put back in in may as need time for my body to rest
I am so worried however of taking the trigger shot tonight and developing ohss ?
Any advice please
I feel so stressed x

Beaglemum91 · 27/01/2021 18:46

@Preston12 so sorry to hear that but at least you should get a nice collection of eggs. I dont think you can do much about OHSS apart from make sure you're drinking lots. Have they switched you to the other trigger then? The ovitrelle is a hcg trigger so can make ohss worse (another reason they do frozen cycle so you don't get late onset ohss from pregnancy). The other trigger is non hcg for freeze alls and should not make any potential ohss worse. Just focus on relaxing and the positive that your body had done a great job producing eggs and you can get it back in great shape for transfer. If it helps, you are only just on the limit for freeze all after they changed the guidelines so hopefully even if you get ohss it will be mild. Fingers crossed for you.

Preston12 · 27/01/2021 19:05

Thanks hun means a lot @Beaglemum91 yes they have gave me Buserelin? Is that the one hun ? I have to take at 1am this morning so going to be a late one egg collection at St. Paul’s Have you been here for Ec ? I went to Wimbledon before and had a good experience so hoping for one here to I no such a shame just feel like everything lately is just not going the right way for us x
What is the guidance now then is it 10000?x

Beaglemum91 · 27/01/2021 19:08

@Preston12 yes thats one one! They sent me one with my medixation so I have it in the bathroom cabinet still! Yes, I guess EC is 1pm then? I'm at Manchester so can't help with that, but I'm sure you will be looked after just the same. The guidance used to be that 8-10000 was a fresh or frozen depending on the person and clinics judgement, not over 8000 is a must do freeze all. Ita just to reduce the strain on the NHS should anyone get very ill. It's unfortunate, but one of those things at the moment.

Beaglemum91 · 27/01/2021 19:29

@BRainbow21 you mentioned dry hand before, well the past few days my face has got really dry, which co sodering I always have very oily skin is definitely related to something were doing! It was really dry the other day but I thought it was just a facemask I used, then I put make up on properly for the first time today in a while ans normally by midday its all shiny and blochy by the end of the day, but its still perfect and not shiny at all now! Feel like a normal person for once, its lovely!

edibletreats · 27/01/2021 20:38

@Preston12
Ah that must feel like a set back but I you want to give your body the best chance of conceiving in a healthy way so maybe the wait is not a bad thing?
I was at St Pauls for EC and transfer. Really nice/kind staff and so many of them! Not sure what I was expecting but definitely felt like I was in good hands. Good luck with it all and keep us posted.

Preston12 · 27/01/2021 21:33

@Beaglemum91 @edibletreats thank you both so much nice to talk to people as it’s driving me insane and no one knows we are having this so no one to talk to about it thank you I wil let you no how Ec goes x

BRainbow21 · 27/01/2021 22:37

@Luckfor2021 Congratulations!! So happy for your outcome.

@Preston12 it's always hard to wait.. But a lot of studies prove that in cases of risk of OHHS frozen cycles not only are safer but also have better outcomes as you allow your body to rest and will be more receptive to the embryo 😊 not all is bad!!

@Beaglemum91 exact same with me.. My face is looking amazing. My acne is so much better - the only thing I'm happy about these hormones!! I could even live with the dry hands to have this nice skin 😁
And wait for your blood tests, don't loose your hope.. Always positive thinking.

In that note have any of you tried meditation/positive affirmations during IVF? I've been listening to some on youtube and it really helps me relax and have nice positive thoughts. This wait is killing me!!

edibletreats · 28/01/2021 09:16

@Luckfor2021 congrats! I completely missed your good news earlier - you must be so excited!

Preston12 · 28/01/2021 10:15

Thanks ladies done the 1am shot last night couldn’t sleep worried about egg collection tommorow oh and it’s my birthday tommorow to so going to be away from my kids
@BRainbow21 thank you I hope when we have it transferred it will be a success it’s been a long journey x

Ragazzabela · 28/01/2021 10:18

@luckfor2021very good news, wish you an easy pregnancy, all the best.x

@Preston12 as said before, It might be in your favours, I had friends that conceived through frozen embryos as they said it can be more stronger, so fingers crossed. xxx

@Beaglemum91@BRainbow21 I'm glad to hear that hormones are doing you good and it stays even after your BFP. Good luck.x

Can I just ask before booking my treatment do I have to arrange any tests, like smear and semen analysis, which other tests are not included in the pack ? TIA

Beaglemum91 · 28/01/2021 15:32

Does anyone know if your progesterone increases the longer you take the pessaries? Yesterday I was feeling really tired, like heavy eyes, from about 10am and today I've been feeling even more tired and told DH I really wanted a midday nap (damn teams calls) as I was so tired. I even slept longer last night as we went to bed early and didn't have to get up to take DH to work. Not sure if this is now happening as I've been taking the pessaries for two weeks or if the levels should be roughly the same as its the same dose each day? Anyone had similar?

edibletreats · 28/01/2021 16:49

@Beaglemum91 hi, I'm not sure but this is my question too. Do the pessaries have a cumulative effect over time? The other weird thing that I seem to be having is breathlessness? I did google that and apparently it is a side effect of progesterone. Although I haven't even been on them a week yet!

Are you looking forward to/nervous for bloods tomorrow?

BRainbow21 · 28/01/2021 17:08

@Beaglemum91 really good question.. I don't know for sure if it does but I would believe so because just like you I feel progressively more tired and sleepy! Although my breasts seem to be much less sore and I'm having less cramps.. Who knows? Crazy hormones.. Like if the wait wasn't enough to drive us crazy 😅

@edibletreats I never heard of breathlessness but I believe everything about the progesterone now! I would just keep an eye it doesn't get worse as it is a symptom of OHHS too.

Beaglemum91 · 28/01/2021 18:56

@edibletreats definitely nervous! I've had a bit of breathlessness, though living in a 3 story house doesnt help that!

@BRainbow21 I was okay until yesterday then suddenly so tired in the day! Everything else seems to have decreased and gone away.

BRainbow21 · 28/01/2021 21:19

@Beaglemum91 wish you all the luck for tomorrow.. Have all my fingers crossed for you!!

LeanneRW · 29/01/2021 08:12

@Luckfor2021 congratulations great news!

Wishing you all the best today @beaglemum91 xx

Luckfor2021 · 29/01/2021 09:00

Thank you ladies for all the good wishes!! I am super excited and nervous at the same time.

@Beaglemum91 I'm thinking about you today and keeping everything crossed for you!

@Preston12 I'm thinking about your and your egg collection! let us know how it goes!

From the start, I have always felt pretty tired with the progesterone but it didn't get worse over time. I work permits I do need a short 30 min nap!

StarryHannah · 29/01/2021 09:58

@Luckfor2021 I'm soooooo happy for you! Wonderful news.

@Beaglemum91 thinking of you today

ForeverHopeful17 · 29/01/2021 10:00

@Beaglemum91 wishing you all the best for today. Sending lots of positive vibes your way c
