Abc IVF

Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

@Beaglemum91 thank you! ❤️
How are you feeling? Any symptoms?
I’ve been constipated for the last week and had to include extra fiber in my meals...
My husband didn’t want me to test either so I told him that it was ok, that I would test then and not let him know. He obviously wanted to know in the end...Grin

Beaglemum91 · 26/01/2021 09:52

@Luckfor2021i may just do that! I would just rather know if a few minutes than wait all day for BT results! Might test tomorrow morning with a FRER... Will let you know!
At the moment I've no idea if I have any symptoms! Though this morning my sore boobs are pretty much gone. I've had the constipation too but read this as a side effect to most of the medication so thought nothing of it! I've been getting quite hot and sweaty in bed the past 2 might which isn't like me and really weird vivid dreams. Kinds think I've been nauseous a couple of times but not sure if that was just cause I was hungry (I have been feeling a bit more hungry)! At the moment I'm just noticing things and not really sure if it could be something or is just medication!

Hi everyone, hope you all are ok. I wish you all get your positive results soon. I hope you dont mind if I join the conversation.
Just for a background history,I had 3 failed IVF and I thought of trying one last time, as doctors told me that this would be my best shot due to have one fallopian tube. The decision was made last minute and I am due to start a new job and can't take any time off for 8 weeks. I was just wondering if someone can advise me how many visits to the clinic we have to make? Also if any pre test is required ? as semen analysis and smear? TIA

LeanneRW · 26/01/2021 13:17

Thank you @Beaglemum91thats good to hear about Manchester. My medications arrived today! It’s all starting to feel very real now. Hope things are good with you.

@Ragazzabela I’m only to the point of receiving medications today, I’ve only been to the clinic twice so far.

Initial scan (clinic visit)
Initially consultation (zoom)
Blood tests (clinic visit)
Treatment consultation (zoom)
Medications delivered today :)
They said expect to go in 2-3 times prior to egg collection for checks/blood tests
Hope that helps, I work 12 hour shifts and if I was starting at 9.30 they’d book my zoom meeting for 8am they’ve been flexible.

Wishing everyone all the best

Beaglemum91 · 26/01/2021 13:44

@Ragazzabela during treatment I had 4 scans, egg collection and embryo transfer at the clinic. Its worth bearing in mind that you have to take the day of egg collection off, technically these should be classed as medical appointments and you should be able to have them off work (even if unpaid).

Ragazzabela · 26/01/2021 13:52

@LeanneRW, @Beaglemum91 thank you so much for you update. Wish you all the best.
I know how it feels, it is a rollercoaster until your embryo transfer and 2ww. Good luck 😊

edibletreats · 26/01/2021 13:55

@HopingForRainbow2021, @Beaglemum91, thanks for the well wishes guys.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Anybody else feel super tired and sleepy after transfer? Not sure if its the progesterone or other hormones flying all over the place but fatigue has become such an issue for me! I've taken to working from my bed!

Preston12 · 26/01/2021 14:14

Sorry about your cat @Luckfor2021 I have a cat to she is like one of my children x
I had my 2 bad scan yesterday and bloods had a phone call last night to say my hormone levels are to high and may risk my getting ohss syndrome I have another scan and more bloods tommorow egg collection is suppose to be Friday but if my bloods are still high I can’t have a transfer 😞 have to have it froze until my body has calmed down feel a bit deflated x

Beaglemum91 · 26/01/2021 14:55

@edibletreats I dont remember being particularly tired after transfer but I was a bit more tired for about a week after collection. Wasn't until about a week after that I started to feel normal again (minus progesterone side effects)

Beaglemum91 · 26/01/2021 14:58

@Preston12 sorry to hear that. I had to go back for a scan next day (called the evening before after getting my bloods back) so I have 2 scans back to back so they could get me in before things went high. I know i was really worried I couldn't have a fresh transfer but they managed it so I could. I think the rules have been tightened due to covid so the "must freeze" level has been lowered to reduce any pressure on the NHS from bad OHSS. At the end of the day though, you need your body to be in top condition so look at it as making sure you can grow your little embryo well :)

Preston12 · 26/01/2021 15:06

@Beaglemum91 thanks hun and I no I just feel a bit deflated that’s all x how are you getting on?

Beaglemum91 · 26/01/2021 15:09

@Preston12 I understand, I've had a few of those moments so far on the journey. I'm not bad, 3 sleeps till bloods so just trying to stay calm and stay positive Smile

Preston12 · 26/01/2021 15:11

Aww good luck @Beaglemum91 let us no how you get on x how long is the blood test after the transfer x

Beaglemum91 · 26/01/2021 15:14

@Preston12 mine is 15 days after collection, 12 days after a 3 day transfer.

Luckfor2021 · 26/01/2021 16:04

@Preston12 I understand your frustration too, but as @Beaglemum91 said it’s all about having your body in the best state possible and also to make sure you don’t end up in hospital or have any other issues. They will always put you first.
@edibletreats I was a bit tired after embryo transfer but probably still from egg collection and progesterone.
@Ragazzabela I only needed 2 scans before egg collection, and the appointments in London were pretty fast. In 30 min I was out. Egg collection took about 2 hours in total if you feel good after anaesthesia and embryo transfer was another 30-45min appointment. If you live close to the clinic then you won’t need too much time off. All the best for you!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes and feeling my pain with my poor little cat.

Ragazzabela · 26/01/2021 17:34

@Luckfor2021 thanks for your reply. I really hope you get your BFP soon. keep us updated.

For everyone still in the process take it easy and try not to worry, each step at time. I know it is not easy, I can tell for experience as done 3 in the past. All the best for you all, hope at the end we can say it was worthy the effort.

Take care and stay safe
