Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

@HV88 haha great attitude! :D

Melodyloveschris · 21/11/2020 20:55

Hi all..I'm also very new to this
So lovely reading all of your stories.
I hope you are all doing well :)
I've finally took the plunge and booked my initial baseline scan for 3rd December in Bristol.
I have no idea what to expect and am totally new to all things IVF.
I have 2 older children and Ive been trying with my new partner for 2 years after miscarrying in April 2018 when we'd just got together.
I've recently been told I have two blocked tubes (proximal) but all else looks good and healthy.
Apart from my age
I just sneak in @37
I'm really hoping that I fit all of the criteria and can start my first cycle soon.
Was worried about how cheap they are but it seems that they are targeted at people who are experiencing less complex infertility issues
Fingers crossed that's me too

I will continue to follow all you lovely ladies
Given me lots of hope Smile

hey @RMC224 how are the injections going? have you had a scan yet?

@indigocloud good luck today! everything crossed for you.

RMC224 · 23/11/2020 13:26

@MochaTea injections are fine, I started cetrotide on Saturday and had a second scan this morning. I have 8 follicles growing and 1 really big one which apparently we are going to ignore lol. I will be increasing my dose of Bemfola this evening to 150 and if all goes well, I’ll have the egg collection nearer the end of the week 😬.
How are you getting on?

indigocloud · 23/11/2020 20:40

@MochaTea Thank you! Sadly I knew the result before going for the test because AF came over the weekend, bang on regular schedule like a Japanese bullet train LOL

On the bright side, the clinic seemed glad to hear that I was in a good place after having already had a day or two to mull over the sad news. And since my body seems to be functioning as normal already, they said I could try again with FET very soon. But thanks for all the support!! x

MochaTea · 23/11/2020 21:31

@RMC224 I’m ok! Just anxiously waiting till my scan next week to make sure everything is ok.
Really hard to be hopeful after a miscarriage but trying my hardest to believe this time will be different.

@indigocloud oh no! But I’m so glad you seem to be doing ok + you had really good embryos and I read a lot that the chances of a FET are much higher than a fresh transfer. Let’s hope second time it sticks 🤞

HV88 · 24/11/2020 09:06

@indigocloud really sorry to hear this. I'm glad you are doing okay considering. Good luck for next time. Xx

RMC224 · 24/11/2020 12:48

@MochaTea I had 2 loses before my daughter, I understand how difficult it is. Have everything crossed for you for next week xx

Beaglemum91 · 24/11/2020 18:42

So I had my virtual consultation this morning where she reconfirmed we were eligible (despite saying my AFC of 12 was low gor my age which could be due to so long on the pill). She was happy to proceed but said we may have to wait until the end of jan due to medication supplier and lab closures as she didn't think we could get a treatment consultation for about 3 weeks which would make it too late to order before Christmas. Well, our patient coordinator has booked the treatment consultation for next week!! So deposit is paid and we are officially on our way and hoping to start on the 1st Jan! Fingers crossed we can leave bad news in 2020!

@indigocloud so sorry to hear that :(

edibletreats · 25/11/2020 14:26

Hi @Beaglemum91 I think we are on a really similar track. I had my virtual consultation yesterday and hope to start my first round in early Jan too. How soon after did you patient coordinator call you?

Beaglemum91 · 25/11/2020 14:47

@edibletreats she called a few hours after and followed up with an email. She gave me the options for the treatment consultation appointment, took the deposit payment and booked out bloods in. We're at Manchester if that helps. Our nurse consultant said they would call that day so if you were told the same I'd give them a call to follow up.

RMC224 · 26/11/2020 17:50

@HV88 how are you getting on after transfer?
It’s looking like egg collection will be on sunday for me. Can I ask how long you waited for the transfer?

HV88 · 26/11/2020 18:22

@RMC224 I'm getting on well thanks. Super tired and nauseous but okay other then that.

I had my transfer 5 days after egg collection so I had a 5 day embryo transferred. I had my egg collection on a Sunday and my transfer the following Friday. They call you the day after egg collection and let you know if they are planning on doing a 3 day transfer or 5 day transfer. I hope that makes sense.

RMC224 · 26/11/2020 18:28

@HV88 glad you’re getting on well 😊
Thanks for the info! What’s the difference between a 3 day and 5 day?

HV88 · 26/11/2020 19:47

@RMC224 I won't even pretend to know what the difference is. My understanding is that its better to have a 5 day embryo transferred but a 3dt may be done depending on how many eggs are collected and how the embryos are developing day 1 and 2. But to be honest you are better off looking it up as I am still pretty clueless about this. They call you the day after egg collection and let you know.

RMC224 · 30/11/2020 18:20

Hi all- I’m suffering with really bad bloating after EC yesterday. Does anyone have any tips or recipes to help? X

RMC224 · 02/12/2020 14:38

Hi @HV88 and @MochaTea how are you both getting on?

I really hope you don’t mind asking, but do you have any idea about the grading of embryos?

The embryologist called today to say that I have 9 embryos, ranging from-
one grade 1, 8 cells
Two grade 2, 8 cells
One grade 1, 6 cells
and then lost track of what she was saying, the person speaks really fast. I think she said the lowest was grade 3 3 cells. Sorry for the information overload.
I’m having a 5 day transfer on Friday.

MochaTea · 02/12/2020 16:31

Hey @RMC224 it seems they are all very good embryos (apart from the 3 3 cells).
If you do a quick search day 3 embryos are graded between 1 and 3 (I think) and day 5 embryo will get numbers and letters, for example, 5AA, 4BC, 3AA etc.
On google, you will know what it all means and what is best and what is worse.
Yes, they do speak ridiculously fast and I couldn't understand half of what they were telling me. On ET they will tell you which embryo they will be putting in and the next day you get a report with all the embryos and their grades.
Very exciting! Good luck!

On Friday I get my early scan too, think I'll be 7 weeks and praying this baby is still here.

HV88 · 02/12/2020 18:44

@RMC224 exactly what @MochaTea said. Google should give you your answers but they will tell you all on ET day and you will receive a full report the day after. Sounds like you are doing super well there 👏 also I am sorry but I have no helpful tips for bloating apart from peppermint tea, which I found very useful.

I am doing well thank you. My HCG levels were 440 at 10dp5dt on Monday and I started testing positive from 5dp5dt (Wednesday)so super happy and over the moon. Trying to stay positive and calm.

HV88 · 02/12/2020 18:45

@MochaTea good luck at your scan on Friday 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I hope you are feeling well. X

MochaTea · 02/12/2020 20:10

@HV88 awesome news! Super congrats!
It was much easier for me to wait for the blood tests than the scan, I’m dying over here but also know there’s no point scanning before the date they’ve given me.
I’m super nauseous and it only gets better when I eat 😅 so trying not to eat all day and hoping this is a good sign.

Beaglemum91 · 03/12/2020 08:37

Oh wow, congrats @HV88! That's great news and look like great numbers!

Good luck for tomorrow @MochaTea and @RMC224! Fingers crossed for you both!

I've just has my treatment consultation and it went very well. They said no problem with me starting on my first period of next year, which should be the 1st Jan (I see this as a good sign!) and they're going to get all my meds out before Christmas (cause who needs that extra shelf in the fridge over Christmas XD ).

One question - did anyone here have a fairly low AFC and if so, how many eggs did you produce through ABC? I had an AFC of 12 at my last scan and she said they may get more or less follicles after stimulation which worries me in case the low doses don't produce many!

RMC224 · 03/12/2020 11:01

Thank you so much! I did google but was a little confused at the cell part of it. Like you say, I’ll know more tomorrow.
@HV88 this is amazing new, I’m so happy for you.
@MochaTea good luck with your scan. I had a lot of sickness with my DD which settled at around 12 weeks. Dry crackers seemed to settle the nausea for me.

RMC224 · 03/12/2020 11:05

@Beaglemum91 such good news for you and Jan 1st Is a good day to start.
I had AFC 16 and had 12 EC. X

HV88 · 03/12/2020 11:34

Thank you guys.
@MochaTea the nausea is good. I have it too, but I'm not surprised as i suffered with hyperemesis all throughout last time. Good luck for your scan.
@Beaglemum91 I can't be of any help to you i am afraid, but that is all great news! How exciting!!
@RMC224 good luck for your et tomorrow. X
