Abc IVF

Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

@RMC224 leg seemed better for me, but I did cetrotide in the belly and bemf on my leg so it was always two different areas to cover.

No side effects I did get one bruise but that’s all. I think as out dosage is low we don’t get the same side effects as people doing the more tradicional ivf. Hope it goes well for you today, time will fly by and in no time you’ll be having egg collection.

Thank you! I’m still in disbelief , waiting for my scan on the 4th but very hopeful too!

RMC224 · 18/11/2020 18:59

@HV88 first injection done, my husband helped, I stood there for about 10 minutes trying to build the Courage to do it lol. Now I know how it feels, I have more confidence to do it myself tomorrow. Thank you both for the reassurance. I have my first scan on Friday.
@MochaTea I bet it feels surreal, how far along will you be on the 4th?

HV88 · 18/11/2020 19:23

@RMC224 well done thats great!! Its always the thought of the unknown that is more scary I think. Now the first one is done you will become a pro!
Good luck with your first scan! I will be having my transfer on Friday 😬 X

RMC224 · 18/11/2020 20:00

@HV88 amazing, good luck for Friday x

Hi all,

I just had my initial scan today and everything looks great so hopefully will get the go ahead when I have the consultation with Bridget(?) next week. She is at Harley St.

Wanted to ask if anybody could please give me an overview of the protocol with dates? I am sure I will discuss this next week with them but obviously I can't wait that long...! I am trying to figure out if I could possibly go for a cycle next month or if it might clash with Xmas closures etc.

many thanks in advance!

RMC224 · 19/11/2020 14:02

@edibletreats I was advised I would be able to have treatment this cycle or wait until January, because the time frame in December would clash with clinic closures. Sorry I can’t help with exact times frame because Ive only just started the injections. We were also asked for various blood tests and sperm analysis before we could start.

edibletreats · 19/11/2020 14:21

@RMC224 thanks and I thought as much...
maybe it would be better to wait until Jan but you know how it is, when you have been delayed so much already you just want things done yesterday!

MochaTea · 19/11/2020 15:29

@edibletreats when does your AF usually comes?

RMC224 · 19/11/2020 16:07

@edibletreats about every 30 days, which would have taken me into the middle of December around the 18th. So I suppose if your cycle starts at the beginning you might be ok

RMC224 · 19/11/2020 16:09

Ha sorry @edibletreats thought you asked that question lol

MochaTea · 19/11/2020 16:59

hahahaha well that is why I asked because considering all goes well if her period is coming at the beggining of december it might still be possible, but anything towards middle of the month it will be too late and might as well wait for january.

@edibletreats just so you know I got my AF on 19/10 - did egg retrieval on 30/10 and egg transfer on 04/11

edibletreats · 19/11/2020 17:19

@RMC224 no problem!

@MochaTea I think I am due on the 7/8th of next month. Cycle is about 26 days.

HV88 · 19/11/2020 20:11

@edibletreats how exciting to be starting the journey. Its a bit mind boggling I have found and also everything varies so much person to person. I thought it might help if i showed you my timeline. For me:
Period 4th November
1st bemfola 5th November
1st scan 9th November and 1st cetrotide injection
2nd scan 11th November
Last bemfola 8th December
3rd scan 13th November last cetrotide and trigger shot
Egg collection 15th November

And I have egg transfer tomorrow the 20th.

For those that have egg transfer already did you still do your progesterone pessary in the morning of it??
Xx

MochaTea · 19/11/2020 21:31

@HV88 good luck tomorrow hope it all goes well.and yes you still do it in the am

indigocloud · 19/11/2020 23:03

Hi ladies, I hope you're all doing well! Quick question for those who have their pregnancy blood test booked. How many days was it past embryo transfer? Mine is 11dp5dt, which seems a bit early as most other clinics seem to test 14dp? Just wanted to double check if this earlier timeline might be an abc thing…

@HV88 - all the best for your embryo transfer tomorrow!! X

Beaglemum91 · 20/11/2020 19:27

So, I had my baseline scan today at ABC in Manchester! It was an experience, but went well I think. She said I have a perfect uterus and 12 follicles which is their minimum so we can proceed with them! It's also reassured us as we now know our only issue is MFI so we have a good chance with IVF + ICSI. We have our virtual consultation Tuesday where they will go through treatment options and book us for our treatment consultation. All seems so real now and we can't wait to get started in January.

MochaTea · 20/11/2020 20:54

@indigocloud mine was 9 days after i don’t think 14 is really necessary - it’s enough to see the results based on hcg levels.

@HV88 how did it go today ?

@Beaglemum91

youll see how quick it will go. It was your choice to start January or are they not doing December because it’s end of the year?

indigocloud · 20/11/2020 21:03

@Beaglemum91 That's fantastic news!! As MochaTea mentioned, it'll all go by quickly. And TBH, because of the milder doses they give you VS traditional IVF, I found it far less of an ordeal than what I'm seeing elsewhere. Here's to a smooth journey for you! x

indigocloud · 20/11/2020 21:04

@MochaTea Thanks so much!

Beaglemum91 · 20/11/2020 21:05

@MochaTea they close down the lab for a deep clean over Christmas, my period at the start of dec will likely fall just into their top late to start category but I'm due AF 1st Jan as well so we shouldn't have to wait too long. We also prefer it as we can relax and enjoy Christmas and have a fresh start in 2021 so I think we'd have chosen it regardless.

HV88 · 20/11/2020 21:08

@MochaTea today went well thanks. We had a 5AA transferred and all went smoothly. The process was so much quicker then I thought it would be.

I had the most awful cramps and sharp pains that started an hour after the transfer and lasted for a couple of hours, but thankfully gone now. Phew. Now to hope, pray and wait 🤞🏼🤞🏼

How are you feeling?? X

indigocloud · 20/11/2020 21:47

Aw that's fab news @HV88!! Congrats on being pupo x

MochaTea · 20/11/2020 21:55

@HV88 great to hear. I had cramps and still have them to be honest and some sharp pains too so actually let’s hope they continue 😅
It was so quick I was so worried it was going to hurt but before I knew it was done, it just makes us think if we have to do it again it’s totally doable.
Were your partner able to go in ? They gave me a little picture of the egg in place to show him

Beaglemum91 · 21/11/2020 07:52

Thanks @indigocloud, I'm hoping so!

Congrats @HV88! Glad to hear it all went well.

HV88 · 21/11/2020 08:27

@MochaTea the cramps are still there but not painful like they were yesterday. To be honest I left my husband upstairs and I didn't even think to ask if he could come in. I think I was nervous. I didn't get an embryo picture, they gave me a picture of the embryo being put in place.

Thanks @indigocloud and @Beaglemum91. My husband said that we need to be really positive so he says instead of pupo we are pasp pregnant and staying pregnant. X
