Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

Wow @marmite83 that's a really good sign though! Perhaps you could disguise it as Xmas festive season hangovers and over indulgences! Really chuffed for you. 8 weeks wow. How exciting! Have you got another scan coming up? The link didn't work sorry xx Google says from egg collection does this sound right? Clear scans for my husband today yay! xx

justtheonethen · 09/12/2019 18:46

@Roobles79 when was your egg collection?

sometimesalways · 09/12/2019 18:46

Oh good news all round for you @Roobles79 that's wonderful!

Thank you @Marmite83 I am doing ok... Have a blood test tomorrow to check hCG levels again. So worried they will still be the same! Apart from the obvious reasons also cause we are meant to travel abroad to spend holidays with family and I am currently not allowed to travel in case it's ectopic. Family doesn't know about ivf and the tickets were SO expensive. Aargh
Glad you are doing ok! I know what you mean re: morning sickness. It's uncomfortable but such a good sign

justtheonethen · 09/12/2019 18:48

Ooh missed your news about your husband- that is fantastic Smile

justtheonethen · 09/12/2019 18:52

@sometimesalways will be crossing everything you get a good drop tomorrow. Must be awful being in limbo, especially if it ruins your holiday plans Sad

Marmite83 · 09/12/2019 19:21

If you Google 'IVF due date calculator' it should come up @Roobles79. Fantastic news about your hubby, you must be very relieved!

@sometimesalways I've got absolutely everything crossed for you that there's been a good drop tomorrow so you can enjoy the festivities with your family.

@Roobles79 My gp is going to send me for a scan on Monday, only a week to wait!

Russkispy · 10/12/2019 07:05

@sometimesalways fingers crossed for HCG drop! Sorry you're still in a limbo land.

@Marmite83 nausea is a good sign 🤞🏻

@Roobles79 how are you feeling? And @justtheonethen ?

justtheonethen · 10/12/2019 07:48

@Russkispy you're so kind to ask, I have HG (second HG pregnancy) so I feel ghastly but I'm so far managing better than last time, perhaps because my gp went in with the big guns early treatment wise! I sometimes think the universe is trying to stop me pro-creating- can't get pregnant naturally and then ridiculously sick when I am Hmm
How are you feeling? Do you have next steps?

@Marmite83 some evidence for taking a b6 supplement (10mg 1-4 times a day) for nausea, also ginger capsules and it's definitely worth trying the travel sickness bands- some people swear by them.

Russkispy · 10/12/2019 08:28

@justtheonethen hope it easies for you soon!
I'm ok, flying home/clinic on Friday , for hysteroscopy/blood tests. It will get good to chat with my doc in person. And hopefully have some answers as to why my first DE transfer ended in early miscarriage Sad
Hopefully there's nothing serious with me and we can plan next transfer in January. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

justtheonethen · 10/12/2019 09:12

@Russkispy keeping everything crossed for some decent answers and for your next transfer.

sometimesalways · 10/12/2019 09:59

Thank you @Marmite83 hang in there, you are doing great!

Thank you @justtheonethen and oh no, sorry to hear about your HG! Sounds tough.. I know what you mean about 'the universe' stopping you procreating ha I some times say things like that to DH and he looks at me like I'm crazy 😆

@Russkispy good luck with the visit! I hope you get some answers. Remember even in the youngest, best quality eggs there are bound to be some with natural abnormalities that end in miscarriage. It's just nature. Doesn't mean that something is wrong unless it is recurrent.
Is your hysteroscopy under a general anaesthetic?

ginandtonicformeplease · 10/12/2019 11:02

@justtheonethen @sometimesalways I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the universe is against me - and yes, DH also looks at me as though I'm crazy when I say that!

I had my 7 week scan this morning. All looks good. I just can't feel positive about it seeing as they said the same at 7 weeks the last two times. I'm back for another scan at 9 weeks on Xmas Eve. Nine weeks is when they've found the MMC both times before. It'll be a pretty shit Xmas if it happens again.

Russkispy · 10/12/2019 14:33

@sometimesalways I had 2 embryos PGS tested just in case! And I know my donor is a young lady, but with my doc's recommendations we went ahead with PGS tests on 2 from 12. Both came back healthy and normal which makes even more upset as to why it ended in an early miscarriage. I might not get concrete answers but st least I'm getting tests done and everything possible before and for next transfer

@ginandtonicformeplease glad the scan went well and sorry you're not feeling positive just yet. But hopefully 9 week scan gives you more reassurance 🤞🏻🤞🏻

sometimesalways · 10/12/2019 18:55

@Russkispy ah I see. But I am sure even PGS has a margin of error? And there are other reasons embryos don't implant, perhaps external? If it's something like a polyp or scar, it will become visible during hysteroscopy and sorted. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Argh unfortunately here hCG still the same - actually up by 7-8 points which is not a lot, so I guess in a way
hovering on same levels. Been asked to see the consultant on Monday for a review. I think that means my holidays are a no go as unless levels miraculously drop, which I don't expect any more. And flight is meant to be a week on Thursday. I will have to tell everyone now, which is an added stress. As if I need any more. Frankly, I am really tempted not to try getting pregnant again. I don't know if I have it in me to go through this again.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 11/12/2019 08:01

@Russkispy
Yes PGS isn't 100% unfortunately as they only take maybe 5 cells from 100 in what will be the placenta

@sometimesalways
I'd request methotrexate at this point if I'm honest that way you might still make the holiday if your levels drop enough

Roobles79 · 11/12/2019 08:36

Hi all just catching up on the thread. Thank you all for your congrats, I am v excited but also apprehensive. Still getting cramps and trying to take it easy is hard at this time of year, feel like I'm dashing round like headless chicken. Thanks for the link @marmite83 so it makes me 5 weeks today! That's crazy. My scan is booked for 8th Jan as I'm working on the 31st when they wanted to do it originally. Hope your sickness eases a bit soon. Are you at work? I am having people ask me and it's so hard as don't want to tell people and jinx it. Altho my fault for telling people. Going through ivf in the first place! XX

Roobles79 · 11/12/2019 08:41

Thank you ever so much everyone re. My husband's scan results too, @justtheonethen @marmite83 @russkispy @sometimesalways @ginandtonicformeplease. Sorry if I've missed anyone I'm stilling used to this tagging malarkey. it was a huge relief as we expecting something ro have cropped up again as he is 6 months down the line from last chemo. Roller-coaster!

When is your hysteroscopy @russkispy and @marmite83 good luck for scan Monday. @ginandtonicformeplease hang on in there I'm keeping everything crossed for you. @sometimesalways thinking of you hope you can still get away and move forwards soon. XXX

Roobles79 · 11/12/2019 08:43

@lillyleaf I forgot to tag you how's things going? Hope all OK I'm feeling knackered and no energy but that's normal for me this time of year! Xmas do tonight for work, would prefer to just go to bed with Netflix if I'm honest! xxx

sometimesalways · 12/12/2019 09:16

Thank you @Roobles79 take it easy, first trimester tiredness is no joke!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted to be honest I thought of that too but sadly it seems I missed the boat now. The consultant who is looking at my case on nhs is on holiday this week and cannot see me before Monday to prescribe it anyway, and that's already too late for travelling on Thursday. I think you need to be monitored for another week after that shot... I can only hope for hCG levels to drop naturally.

Marmite83 · 12/12/2019 11:14

@sometimesalways, I really feel for you. Really hope the levels drop naturally soon for you.

Hang in there @ginandtonicformeplease, I feel very much the same. We saw a heartbeat with both our mmcs and then it was gone, one at 10+6 and one at 8+3. I'll be 9 weeks at my scan on Monday so feeling quite nervous about it. Just really hoping the nausea is a good sign as I didn't have it with the two mmcs but did with my dd. Finally booked my booking in appt with the midwives, I've been putting it off as didn't want to tempt fate. It's booked for 30 Dec so I'll be 11 weeks. Just hope it doesn't delay my 12 week scan (they say not but we shall see). Ginger didn't help with my dd but giving it a go again this time. Drinks make me feel so ill, think I'm getting a bit dehydrated which isn't helping.

ginandtonicformeplease · 12/12/2019 14:49

@Marmite83 I'm very much trying not to think about it - almost self-preservation - but thoughts still break through at times! I haven't booked in for the midwife yet as it does seem like tempting fate. Also the last time the letters from the hospital wanting to know why I hadn't gone to the scan, rebooking it, were non-stop and I just can't face it again. DH had told the midwife but I think because our midwives are a different CCG than the hospital it all got lost somewhere.

I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the moment as I have a disgusting cold and been feeling sick all day. I'm working at home but going to knock off in an hour or so and lie on the sofa with a hot water bottle.

Russkispy · 15/12/2019 23:15

@Marmite83 how are you feeling? Good luck for the scan tomorrow. Hope it goes well! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@sometimesalways been thinking about you. How are things with you?

Just checking in with @ginandtonicformeplease @Roobles79 @justtheonethen @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted

AFM has a hysteroscopy/scratch done yesterday morning. She removed tiny polyps but otherwise everything looked good. Drawn bloods for various tests. It's a long list! But the main ones are macroprolactin and KIR genetics. Results should be in this week and just after Christmas. Next transfer is scheduled mid January or so.

Russkispy · 15/12/2019 23:17

Forgot to tag @LillyLeaf

Marmite83 · 15/12/2019 23:37

Thanks @Russkispy, hope you're not too sore. Fingers crossed for good results.
