Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

@LillyLeaf Glad the transfer went well, 50% sounds like pretty good odds to me, and it's great they are checking your prog levels. Hopefully no need for expensive Lubion, although nice to know there's something to use if need be.

@BettySwoll0cks Fingers crossed those 4 keep on growing and doing their thing. Your symptoms do sound a bit OHSS-ish, so take care of yourself, and don't worry about the freeze all, it's annoying to wait but you feel so much better for it. There's also some research that says success rates with FET are as high or higher than fresh. Hope you feel better.

@sometimesalways Sorry about the blood test results, hopefully it's just being a bit slow and catches up soon. I'm sure it's a nervy wait, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

@updownleftrightstart Sorry things are not smooth sailing for you either but good to know they already have support plans for the prog you need and are making sure that's all OK. Gosh, it's just hurdle after hurdle isn't it?

@Marmite83 If you still have a line 7dp5dt transfer, isn't that now a positive? Or am I being too optimistic? I thought the trigger was normally out by 12 days, so maybe you can start to hope a little...

@Christabelle89 Welcome to the board, sorry you've had a long and hard time of it all, but hopefully IVF helps make it happen for you. Good luck for the scan on Monday, it's so much waiting around and worrying, but we are all in it together!

Me, nothing much to report, still surrounded in pessary residue and counting the days to OTD. My period tracker app says I'm due on Wednesday so I'm going to get a bit naively excited if it doesn't appear then.

Marmite83 · 09/11/2019 19:27

@LillyLeaf I definitely had more side effects on the cyclogest than I've had on Crinone. I think it was because the cyclogest was a suppoditory though, it gave me a really bad tummy every couple of days.

@mincedpea, it wasn't a trigger shot, I had two Gonasi shots to boost progesterone. The last one was on Monday. I'm obviously really hoping it should be out of my system by now but my clinic said a hpt, even on official test day, wouldn't be reliable so I need to wait for the blood test results.

Thank you @Marmite83 @mincedpea @LillyLeaf @updownleftrightstart
I am trying to sit tight and not make too many doom scenarios in my head, my DH is the eternal optimist and feels we should treat this as a normal pregnancy until we hear otherwise. I don't think I can and my thoughts run wild. I have never had a miscarriage before, my problem has been implantation, I just never fell pregnant. I have only had a bfp once, when pg with DS, and my hCG then was so high they thought I might be having twins, so this is clearly very different and I don't know what all this means. I have no cramping or blood, does that always happen with mc?

@Marmite83 what does your line look like today? Are you going for bloods tomorrow?

@updownleftrightstart did you do bloods too, I remember we were so close, how did it go?

LillyLeaf · 10/11/2019 08:45

@sometimesalways it's so hard not to fear the worst but right now you don't have enough information, everything crossed for the next blood test. my MCs have always been discovered at scans (I now have a massive fear of scans), no bleeding. Hang in there.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok this weekend. I've been a bit confused that my breasts haven't been sore from all the progesterone, they usually are, but now I think I've made them sore from prodding them so much, ahh the crazy things we do in the 2ww.

BettySwoll0cks · 10/11/2019 09:21

Well I don't know about you ladies, but I've been pg 5 times and my body has responded completely differently every time. Sometimes it's hit me like a tonne of bricks other times I've had barely any symptoms.

I'm with you @LillyLeaf I have a morbid fear of scans now. I've had one good one in 4 years!

Marmite83 · 10/11/2019 09:47

Hang in there @sometimesalways, I've got everything crossed for your next blood test. I had bleeding with my one successful pregnancy and with one mmc. No bleeding in my last mmc. As @BettySwoll0cks says, they've all been different.

I also have a fear of scans @LillyLeaf. Both mmc diagnosed on scans.

Yes blood test tomorrow @sometimesalways, line is still there today. I can't really tell if it's getting any darker though. Hopefully I'll get my answer tomorrow.

@sometimesalways every pregnancy is different. Your hubby is right just treat this as a normal pregnancy. Unfortunately a huge amount of miscarriages don't involve any symptoms at all. I felt 100% pregnant when I went for my last scan, had so many symptoms only to be told I'd actually miscarried 2 weeks earlier. But... There's more chance of a successful pregnancy for you then not! Your results are in range, don't forget that! It might be that your first buried itself into the lining immediately and this just took that bit longer to do so.

Yes we had our bloods done Friday afternoon. I think HCG was fine just the progesterone that was low.

sometimesalways · 10/11/2019 14:37

Thanks everyone. Sounds like indeed there's no rules here, so I just need to wait and see aaaargh. I have some very minor cramping at the moment, but that could just be the pregnancy too, so who knows.

@updownleftrightstart ah sorry I looked back and missed your update, great stuff re: hCG! That's the main thing. Fingers crossed for you. I'd worry less about the progesterone as I think clinics aim for quite a lot higher from the average numbers needed, to be on the safe side, so their low might not actually be too low. Interesting though, I also had low progesterone result on my past cycle when taking lentogest and had to supplement.

sometimesalways · 10/11/2019 14:39

@Marmite83 I think the fact that the line is still there is def a good sign 🤞🤞🤞 will be looking forward to update tomorrow!

lucyinthe · 10/11/2019 17:11

Hi everyone hope you're all as well as can be!

@sometimesalways keeping my fingers crossed for you just been catching up on your posts. Hope you get some good news this week.

I'm 11 days in to buserelin now, got a scan this Thursday to check all ok, if all goes to plan should have egg collection 27th or 29th November. Hardly any symptoms so far just had a banging head ache for the last 2 days.

Wanted to ask a question, has everyone gone completely T Total during their cycles? I haven't drank in months but we have a party this weekend, a really close friend is moving away. I was planning on staying sober but just wondering if you think a few drinks would do any harm?

Russkispy · 10/11/2019 19:27

@sometimesalways I really hope HCG increases nicely for you and there's nothing to worry about! Thinking of you!

sometimesalways · 10/11/2019 19:55

Thank you @Russkispy I am worried, can't deny it. But nothing to do but wait. I'd be v sad to mc of course, but the possibility of an ectopic really scares me. What will be will be, trying to go with the flow.

How are you? Are you still bleeding?

sometimesalways · 10/11/2019 19:59

Thank you @lucyinthe
I admit I am not drinking and haven't drunk at all during my cycles. Not sure anybody told me it's a no no but just to be on the safe side. But I do find it hard not to drink at work events etc and I have a few of those. I end up just carrying a glass around and pretending, hoping nobody notices I don't drink!

Russkispy · 10/11/2019 20:03

@sometimesalways I'm sure you are! And understandably so! But I really hope it all works out!
I stopped bleeding for a few hours and then started again.
Just now trying to work out what to do next. And what I want clinic to do for me in order to have positive and successful outcome.

sometimesalways · 10/11/2019 20:10

@Russkispy did you get a consultation with you doctor yet? I might be getting mixed up, but I think you have some embies in the freezer, right?

Russkispy · 10/11/2019 20:17

@sometimesalways yes, we have 11 healthy and top grade frosties. All my treatments were done abroad and I'm writing an email with my thoughts to my doc now. I communicate with my coordinator 24/7 and after talking with her today, I'm trying to gather all my thoughts/questions.

sometimesalways · 10/11/2019 20:37

@Russkispy sounds like a sensible way forward. And 11 is an amazing number! Wow
I hope you have a plan soon. I feel that on low points of this process the only thing that helps me is having made a decision about the next steps so that I feel like I am doing something towards my goal

Russkispy · 10/11/2019 20:54

Same here @sometimesalways . I need a plan! That keeps me afloat!

Jem01 · 11/11/2019 07:31

Hello everyone, can I join? I'm about to start 3rd cycle of FET). I’ll start taking Progynova from today and have a scan week after next.

mincedpea · 11/11/2019 09:31

Ah sorry @Marmite83, I'd thought you'd had a pre-transfer trigger. Fingers crossed for today and the blood test, sounds good if the test was still positive yesterday.

@sometimesalways Really hope your HCG keeps going up steadily. I think you're right to say "what will be will be", there's not really so much we can do about it. Not worrying is easier said than done, I know.

@Russkispy Good to hear from you and hope you get a positive plan sorted out. I agree, it's good to have a plan, even if it isn't perfectly fixed, as it gives you something to work towards. 11 frosties is brilliant!

@lucyinthe I'm not a big drinker, but did have the occasional glass before any treatment happened. Once I was on any sorts of drugs, I became tee-total. I'm a proper lightweight anyway and we live out in the sticks, so I can easily get out of drinking by being the designated driver. I've noticed lots of really good no/very low alcohol options out there these days too, especially for beer and wine. With Christmas coming up, I'm doing my research! Hope the scan goes well this week.

@Jem01 Welcome to the board, fingers crossed this FET is the one that works and you get that BFP!

justtheonethen · 11/11/2019 09:37

Hello all. Did my official test day tests today and got these beauties . Scan booked for 28th and my clinic have sent me a private prescription (they didn't charge for it) that I can take to Asda for the rest of my drugs. SO much cheaper.

Sending good luck vibes to you all at your various stages. Especially @Marmite83 for your blood test today.

Whoever asked about drinking - I didn't at all during my fresh cycle as I felt that would give me the best eggs, I had one or two while prepping for FET. Realistically as long as you're not getting drunk I really don't think it will make a difference.

justtheonethen · 11/11/2019 09:37

Lines!

Oct/Nov IVF, ICSI & FET - Let's do this!
Russkispy · 11/11/2019 09:42

@justtheonethen massive congratulations!

@mincedpea thank you. Still working on the plan Smile

mincedpea · 11/11/2019 09:47

Amazing, congratulations @justtheonethen, those are beautiful lines! Thanks for the prescription & ASDA tip. Enjoy your day today Smile

BettySwoll0cks · 11/11/2019 09:52

Wow @justtheonethen great lines!!

I have 3 little beauties going into the freezer today and 2 more that are still trying but not quite there yet, that will stay in the incubator for another 24hrs. So there is hope! I can relax a bit now and look forward to transfer this side of Christmas Smile

Probably need to call the clinic finance people actually, I imagine I'll have to start paying rent for the little beans....
