Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

@mincedpea yay! Stick little bean Smile

sometimesalways · 06/11/2019 16:04

@mincedpea oooh exciting, glad all went well! Good luck 🤞🤞🤞
When is Otd for you?

mincedpea · 06/11/2019 16:24

Thank you @sometimesalways @justtheonethen, yes stick little bean don't fall out! They gave us the pic of the embryo and I'm already dangerously attached to it Confused

OTD not until Monday 18th Nov but I will probably test on the Sunday so I'm not sad at work. In reality, I'm probably going to crack before that, now that I know you've both got positives at 5 days!

Roobles79 · 06/11/2019 17:57

Thanks @mincedpea I will definitely check. XX

Roobles79 · 06/11/2019 17:59

@sometimesalways, it's called meriofert and you have to mix it with a water solution and draw it up into the needle, and have to use two doses. A bit faffy! Thanks for your reply. Why are all the drugs called different things! X

BettySwoll0cks · 06/11/2019 18:16

Good luck @mincedpea and the little pea.
Yes they'll call me in the morning to let me know how many have fertilised. I have a feeling they are going to recommend a freeze all but we'll see.

I feel absolutely awful after the retrieval today, so nauseous. It's like a really bad hangover. Did anyone else have that? I've just been sleeping or lying down with my eyes closed this afternoon, finally managed to focus my eyes enough to jump on MN Confused

LillyLeaf · 06/11/2019 18:48

@BettySwoll0cks wow so many egg, fingers crossed over the next few days. I felt fine after my ec but I only ever get 8 eggs. Hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow but an FET isn't a bad idea to let you recover.

@Russkispy so sorry it ended like this, it's so cruel. Look after yourself.

@sometimesalways I'm on inhixa too, are you using the pre filled syringes? They bloody hurt! Do yours hurt? Lubion also hurts but more after the actual injection. My stomach is so sore today. I think people at work think I'm pregnant because I keep rubbing my stomach.

@mincedpea that's exciting, fingers crossed, I'm only 2 days behind you (hopefully). I have a progesterone blood test tomorrow to check it before Fridays transfer. Starting to feel a bit nervous now and struggling to feel positive.

mincedpea · 06/11/2019 22:03

Thank you for the luck @BettySwoll0cks, I love the idea of calling it the little pea! I also felt really really out of it after my egg collection and ended up taking a few days off work. I think it's quite tough on you, physically and emotionally. If they recommend a freeze all, it might not be the worst thing, gives you some time to recover. 20 eggs is a lot too! Fingers crossed for lots fertilising tonight 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

Thanks and good luck to you too @LillyLeaf, not long until your transfer now. Hope your stomach isn't too sore from all the jabs and your progesterone check goes well tomorrow. I was nervous too, it's hard not to be with all the various stages of IVF. I hope you feel more positive in the morning. I don't suppose you have a pet? I find whenever it all gets a bit much, I sit and play with my dog and he's a great distraction. At least I know we have him and I'll definitely get another one if the treatments all fail.

sometimesalways · 06/11/2019 22:14

@LillyLeaf yes! The inhixa ones do sting. I find it bearable but I genuinely wonder why they couldn't make the needles a little thinner?? It would help a lot. Lubion hurts a bit after, but they are nothing compared to the intramuscular ones I had in my previous cycle, so lubion and again lubion :) I find it helps if I pinch the area while I press the needle in, keeping it steady, but release ever so slightly when I press and inject. It bruises less that way..
hope you are not too sore!

LillyLeaf · 06/11/2019 22:29

@mincedpea I do have cat actually, she's lovely and gets way too much attention from us, she rules this house!

@sometimesalways when I did my first inhixa the needle bounced off me twice before going in, I was so used the the tiny Buserelin or lubion needles. I weirdly don't have any visible bruises, just soreness that feels like a bruise, I'm sure I'll get used to them.

BettySwoll0cks · 07/11/2019 10:57

Morning all - hope everyone is doing ok today.

So only 6 (from 20) of my eggs fertilised. 3 were too small, one was a double yolker so it was disregarded. 2 more are still in the dish because they have shown some signs of movement although haven't divided as you'd expect. So realistically 6. Here's hoping we'll have anything left by day 5 (Monday) - everyone is pretty disappointed. 😔

sometimesalways · 07/11/2019 11:20

@BettySwoll0cks 6 is a great number! I had six fertilised a few years ago. One is now my lovely DS and another is the little embryo that gave me the positive just now. Don't be disheartened

updownleftrightstart · 07/11/2019 11:43

@mincedpea all the best for you and little pea

@Russkispy I am so sorry. It's proper shit when this happens. Take care of yourself Flowers

@BettySwoll0cks 6 fertilising is still great. We had 6 fertilise from our first cycle, one is now our 2 year old and another is hopefully settling in nicely in my womb right now. Can't believe you had a double yolker though!

@sometimesalways it is so strange that everything about our cycles are so similar! Same number of of embryos from our first cycle, first of those is now a 2 year old, second will (fingers crossed) be due at almost exactly the same time. And probably the same clinic too. Weird! Also... OTD today for you! Have you done another test and called the clinic?

@LillyLeaf OMG I have all the bruises. My arse is a lovely shade of bluey purple and I'm now struggling to find anywhere on my stomach that doesn't mean me injecting on top of a bruise! Hope everything is on track for transfer tomorrow still Grin

@Roobles79 I had to mix the powder and solution myself last time, only mine was called merional. It makes to so confusing that there's not just one standard drug. It seems like it's going make it a lot harder for me to source my drugs from elsewhere

BettySwoll0cks · 07/11/2019 11:57

@updownleftrightstart and @sometimesalways thank you so much, that's really encouraging (and spooky how closely aligned you two are!!)

BettySwoll0cks · 07/11/2019 11:57

Ps @sometimesalways is that an OTD positive?

ginandtonicformeplease · 07/11/2019 12:27

Hi everyone, seems like there's been lots of good news on this thread so far! Hope it's ok if I join.

This will be my fourth FET. I had EC back in April 2018, went to freeze all, then first transfer in June 18. MMC at 9 weeks.

Second transfer was in October last year, BFN. Third transfer February this year, BFP but then MMC at 9 weeks again.

I've been diagnosed with high NK cells by my clinic, which is apparently the most likely reason for miscarriages. Unfortunately extensive (aka expensive) tests have shown that none of the usual treatments for this work on me. They've recommended just going ahead with another FET - at the original EC we got 12 in the freezer so we have them there!

I'm booked in for transfer on Monday. I really can't get excited about it as even if it is a BFP then I know I'm just going to be waiting for it all to go wrong Sad

justtheonethen · 07/11/2019 12:28

@BettySwoll0cks 6 is fab. Quality not quantity. I had 4 eggs that fertilised and all made it to day 5. One is DD, one is my current bfp, one still in freezer and one wasn't good enough to freeze. Don't be down, you only need one Thanks

justtheonethen · 07/11/2019 12:30

@ginandtonicformeplease that is a rocky road. I'll keep everything crossed this time is different

mincedpea · 07/11/2019 13:01

@BettySwoll0cks Ditto what everyone else said, 6 is a great number so don't give up hope. I had two slow ones too but they caught up, so your two could still make it. The five day wait is really tough, we all know what you're going through, and are keeping our fingers crossed.

@LillyLeaf How was your progesterone test today? Glad you have a little cat to keep you cheerful. Pets are a great comfort and distraction.

@sometimesalways Oooh OTD today, hope all is well!

@updownleftrightstart Thanks for the good luck for the little pea. Is it your OTD too? 🤞🏾

@ginandtonicformeplease That sounds so tough, thanka for sharing your story, you're clearly a brave and strong person. Good luck for Monday, hopefully a better outcome this time.

@Marmite83 Long time no hear, how are you getting on?

sometimesalways · 07/11/2019 13:03

@updownleftrightstart are you me? Grin Do you also live in North London?

Yes OTD for me today, tested again and line still there. Seems similar to yesterday's so of course i am already fretting about hCG numbers not going up. Called the clinic and they booked me for blood test tomorrow afternoon. It's towards the end of the day and I really hope they don't leave me waiting till Monday for the results. I will drive myself crazy by then!

sometimesalways · 07/11/2019 13:06

@ginandtonicformeplease welcome! It's such a tough process, I am sorry you are going through this. But we are here to chat and help you through it either way.
are you on steroids for the NK?

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 07/11/2019 13:45

So I'm cycle day 2 on my non medicated FET - started back on prednisolone yesterday - hopefully transferring a PGS tested low level mosaic around the 25th November

Feeling a bit weird about this transfer - part of me is really not feeling enthusiastic or excited at all. 😢

ginandtonicformeplease · 07/11/2019 14:29

@sometimesalways Yes, I'm on steroids and intralipids - I'm not sure why they want me to have intralipids as they've also said they don't work on me, but I'm just doing what they say! I've also got clexane for after the transfer.

updownleftrightstart · 07/11/2019 14:41

@mincedpea OTD is tomorrow for me.
@sometimesalways erm I don't think so... I live in Watford so I guess I can't be!

ginandtonicformeplease · 07/11/2019 18:08

One thing I am very puzzled about - previously when I've been on progynova my boobs have got massive straightaway, and my previous transfer they had me on steroids which made me hungry all the time (this massive weight gain which I haven't quite got rid of yet, but 1.5 stone down). This time, no side effects whatsoever.

Do t get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but I'm just a bit puzzled Confused
