Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

Wow 16 days! @Anaesthetist83 that's quite a long wait. I wonder what's the thinking behind it. I genuinely don't understand why some clinics feel 11dpt is enough and others wait for 16... anyway.

Bfp at 5dpt heh? That's today for me but I am not testing. Although I have reached the stage where I start symptom spotting, even though I know full well it's sort of pointless. Any symptoms yet for you @updownleftrightstart ? I just have some lower back pain now.

@Marmite83 that's annoying indeed re: testing. So is Gonasi the trigger shot? I haven't had to have one before. But wouldn't that be out of your system by OTD?

Marmite83 · 29/10/2019 21:19

Me too @justtheonethen, I'm a complete control freak! One of the many reasons why infertility is so hard!

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 29/10/2019 21:25

@Marmite83 I hear you! Although I think I actually prefer ivf than the constant futile shagging "just in case a miracle happens" for feeling like I'm doing something.

updownleftrightstart · 29/10/2019 22:17

@sometimesalways nothing at all. Back is hurting but then again it has been since I had DD!

The cynic in me wonders if OTD is to do with the pregnancy success stats for each clinic. I'm sure they wouldn't really be that sneaky right?!

I get that @justtheonethen. After our MMC there wasn't even the consideration to try naturally and we just went straight for a FET. I actually prefer this way even if it costs a small fortune!

@Marmite83 I think I'd probably use the cheap hpts just to check your levels after the gonasi because I also would have thought that would be out of your system by OTD.

Marmite83 · 29/10/2019 22:21

Totally agree @justtheonethen, we've std once in the last two weeks and it's been lovely Blush

Gonasi was my trigger last cycle @sometimesalways but this cycle I'm taking two smaller shots of it to boost my progesterone. I think I'll prob test it out so I know where I stand.

16 days is crazy! Nearly double the 9 days my clinic does. Well done to everyone who's resisting the urge

@Marmite83 what have you decided in the end? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
@sometimesalways how's tww treating you so far? Hope all is well Smile

Marmite83 · 30/10/2019 08:58

I think I'll probably test it out if my system @Russkispy. The second shot is 2dp5dt so if I start testing the next morning I should hopefully see it start to decrease. I may still change my mind though Confused. How are you feeling?

OP posts:
sometimesalways · 30/10/2019 10:59

@Russkispy I had a very relaxed and optimistic first couple of days but I am starting to wobble now, at 6dp5dt... I am feeling very different to how I did with my last failed cycle 2ww, which might be a good thing, but I am also doing natural cycle now so entirely different protocol/meds so it could also be down to that! Argh
And I had the weirdest most vivid dreams last night too. Is that a sign? Maybe just means too much cheese at dinner haha

Did you have any symptoms before your bfp? At you feeling alright now, any nausea?

sometimesalways · 30/10/2019 11:01

It's a tough one @Marmite83
I wasn't even tempted to test when I had my trigger shot back with my first cycle, as it's horrific getting a false positive. But it hadn't crossed my mind testing every day, there's something to be said about that! I honestly don't know what I'd do in your shoes.

I don't have the trigger and I find it quite hard not testing. But I will try and wait as much as I can

Russkispy · 30/10/2019 13:31

@sometimesalways hope you can hold off testing just yet! Too early is never a good move. I think. And sorry you're feeling wobbly!
It was my first DE and FET altogether! Never had any symptoms. Apart from insomnia but that's down to progesterone and/or prednisolone. And still awake at 5am every night and struggle to sleep. But now I think nausea is creeping up.
Yet to do beta on Monday and early scan booked on 20th, a few days earlier than my doc suggested. Told my coordinator and waiting to hear. I'll be 7w2d then 🤞🏻

lucyinthe · 30/10/2019 14:01

Just catching up and @justtheonethen constant shagging comment made me laugh! Totally agree it feels like a relief to not have the pressure to have sex all the time after years of trying.

Hope you lovely ladies nearing your test date are holding up. Fingers crossed for you.

Did my first buserelin injection this morning, took me ages to get an air bubble out of the needle! Hands were shaking I was fiddling around for about 20 minutes. Glad the first ones out the way now though, hopefully il find it easier tomorrow.

updownleftrightstart · 30/10/2019 15:21

So this is entirely @justtheonethen 's fault but I may have accidentally taken a test super super early.

I know it's really early and things could change anyway but am I completely imagining a line here?!

Oct/Nov IVF, ICSI & FET - Let's do this!
justtheonethen · 30/10/2019 16:26

@updownleftrightstart Smile that's a lovely line, I'm not a all sorry it's my fault Grin
Tentative early congratulations!

sometimesalways · 30/10/2019 16:30

Oooooh @updownleftrightstart that looks like a nice line to me!
Sorry I can't remember, did you have a trigger shot?

updownleftrightstart · 30/10/2019 16:41

Heehee @justtheonethen. What you said made a lot of sense actually. Really I wasn't feeling optimistic at all though and was expecting a BFN. I still have to hope it's still a positive in a weeks time though!

@sometimesalways no trigger shot. Only drugs I've taken have been progesterone and estrogen.

Tonight me and hubby have our 2nd night out of the last 2.5 years so it's good timing I guess!

sometimesalways · 30/10/2019 16:54

No drinking for you tonight @updownleftrightstart Wink
Woohoo! Tentative congrats

updownleftrightstart · 30/10/2019 17:03

Guess I may as well do the driving then!

Thanks Grin. DH says he was convinced it would work but I just can't believe we've been so lucky to get 2 bfps from two tries.

Marmite83 · 30/10/2019 22:11

Whispered congrats @updownleftrightstart, enjoy your night out

OP posts:
Russkispy · 30/10/2019 22:15

@updownleftrightstart tentative congratulations! Enjoy the night!

LillyLeaf · 31/10/2019 09:18

@Marmite83 I'm not sure what I would do about testing in that situation, I hate testing at all so would probably hold out, see how you feel later.

@lucyinthe don't worry about a little air bubble in the Buserelin, you'll never get that out, that's what my nurse said when I did my first one.

@updownleftrightstart tentative congrats, how many days past are you now?

@ I had my first scan today, lining looks great. Transfer is booked for next Friday 😬

sometimesalways · 31/10/2019 10:05

Oh lovely @LillyLeaf great to have a date booked, right? How are you feeling?

I am going from really wanting to test to being really rather terrified of testing haha ivf madness right there

LillyLeaf · 31/10/2019 10:20

@sometimesalways it's great to have a date but now the embryo thawing anxiety is kicking in, especially as we only have 1 embryo. I think anything from 8dp5dt will give a clear results using a Frer, my 9dp5dt bfp have always been dark. But it's hard to decide when to test, but avoid too early.

Marmite83 · 31/10/2019 10:40

Glad the scan went well @LillyLeaf. I've got everything crossed for you that thawing all goes to plan for next Friday.

@sometimesalways you're only 2 days away from my clinics OTD, hang in there. I know what you mean about being terrified about testing, we drive ourselves mad wondering if we are but then would rather not know in case it's negative. IVF madness indeed!

OP posts:
LillyLeaf · 31/10/2019 15:27

@Marmite83 thanks. How are you feeling about transfer on Saturday?

Marmite83 · 31/10/2019 15:54

Feeling ok atm thanks @LillyLeaf, we have 3 embryos so trying not to worry too much about the thawing process. If I'm honest, I'm more worried about the risk of peeing myself while they do the procedure because I have to have such a full bladder Blush
