Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

@Marmite83 exciting! That's great to have a date set and also great that it falls on a weekend (rugby aside), as it might make it easier to relax?

And well it will be for a good cause Smile Re: DH being there. Actually I think our clinic doesn't do transfers unless we are both there - but sounds like it's not the same for every one. Definitely more practical to be flexible.

Not much to report here, it's pretty boring. Feeling alright in terms of spirits. Had some lower back pain and some very noticeable twinges this afternoon on left side/abdomen but I know all this can be the progesterone so trying not to read too much into it..

Russkispy · 28/10/2019 07:34

OTD today and it's a BFP! I'm 9dp5dt today. Couldn't believe my eyes! Especially after having a brown discharge on Saturday. Thought AF was on its way. Fingers crossed is all going to be ok!

I'm not sure it will help with relaxing, we'll have to take dd with us. But that was the same last time and it was actually quite nice having her there keeping dh occupied while I was having the procedure. Think I'll be starting progesterone tonight, can't say I'm looking forward to it but I'd rather take it than not for the added peace of mind. What day are you on now?

@Russkispy congratulations!! That's amazing news! The week is off to a fabulous start, I love this.
What's the next step, bloods at the clinic?

@Marmite83 it's a nice thing to do as a family though! I hope the progesterone isn't too bad for you. For me, weirdly, the initial gassy/toilet thing (sorry again!) sort of went away a day or two after ET, so now it all feels very normal. I am just 4dp5dt. I hope I won't want to test early, but either way it's still way too early for any meaningful testing...

sometimesalways · 28/10/2019 07:55

...And you are making me want to test at 9dpt too now @Russkispy

justtheonethen · 28/10/2019 08:50

@Russkispy congratulations!

LillyLeaf · 28/10/2019 08:53

@Russkispy that's fantastic, congratulations.

@sometimesalways I've never been an early tester, always tested on 9dp5dt (otd) but this time I might test a day early, we'll see, I think it will depend what day it falls on, a weekend would be nice.

@lucyinthe I couldn't have gone to a baby shower, it's really nice you went and it's hard to know how you will feel it that situation.

Russkispy · 28/10/2019 09:25

@sometimesalways when is your OTD? I'll only test then. But that's me!
Beta will have to be next Monday as my father is visiting and we're keeping it shtumm! And I'm in kent but bloods in London! Will wait till then!

Thank you ladies for your wishes!

Marmite83 · 28/10/2019 09:25

@Russkispy congratulations!! A lovely strong positive and what a fantastic way to start the week! (Sorry, I think our earlier messages crossed over so I missed your exciting update)

@sometimesalways the progesterone side effects hit me every few days last cycle but I was using Crinone and Cyclogest. This time the plan is Crinone and a couple of Gonasi injections to boost so may be different. Re. testing early, I wasn't tempted last cycle as I'd had a trigger but I didn't end up having one this cycle in the end so hoping the urge to test doesn't creep up on me. My clinic tests at 9dp5dt so fingers crossed I'll be able to resist temptation. I'm getting ahead of myself anyway, need the scan to be ok today and the embie to defrost ok on Sat, one step at a time!

@Marmite83 @Russkispy @LillyLeaf OTD is 14dpt which feels like a century from now! Haha

lucyinthe · 28/10/2019 11:09

Congratulations @Russkispy !! Great news to start the week x

updownleftrightstart · 28/10/2019 12:20

Huge congratulations @Russkispy!!! That is such good news, and a super strong positive. Hopefully the first of many on this group over the next few weeks Smile

I have never been a big tester and had no desire to test early before but this time I am so anxious I don't know what's happened to me!

My progesterone is still making me ridiculously light headed but apparently my levels are good and I'm paranoid that low levels of progesterone were the reason I had a MMC in July so I need to keep taking as much as I can tolerate. But I'm having crinone twice a day, lentogest injections 3 times a week, and 6 utrogestan tablets a day (these are the killer) and it seems so excessive!

sometimesalways · 28/10/2019 12:48

Oh well done @updownleftrightstart Yes progesterone is v important isn't it. I had lentogest in my last cycle and I absolutely hated them (and now I am convinced we are in the same clinic as I haven't heard any others using them ha) How are you finding them?
I have lubion instead on this cycle, they are much better suited for me I think...

updownleftrightstart · 28/10/2019 13:38

@sometimesalways I have no problem with the lentogest at all. I'd rather have more of those than the tablets and hubby is getting pretty good at stabbing me in the arse!

I'll probably be looking at everyone at the clinic wondering if they're you now! 😆

Does anyone else have a name for their embryo? We named all of them on our first cycle and it feels nice to have something proper to call it.

Marmite83 · 28/10/2019 14:40

I haven't named my embryos @updownleftrightstart, I think it would make it even harder for me if it didn't work. They get a name once I get a bfp. Had 3 so far. Pickle, Widget and Nugget. Widget is my now 3yo Smile

Just had my scan and all looks good so just waiting for my Crinone prescription and then it'll be blood test on Fri and FET on Saturday Smile

OP posts:
Marmite83 · 28/10/2019 14:43

@sometimesalways, they prescribe Lentogest at my clinic, I haven't had it but just heard one of the nurses talking about it on the phone. Doubt I'm at the same clinic though, mine's not one if the more well known clinics.

Anaesthetist83 · 28/10/2019 16:59

Congratulations @Russkispy!
My clinic OTD is 16 days post 5 day transfer!!! When we get to that stage, there is absolutely no way I will last that long. I am going to aim for 11!

mincedpea · 28/10/2019 17:41

Congratulations @Russkispy, that's absolutely brilliant news! Hope you're feeling good and enjoying having that lovely strong line!

Russkispy · 28/10/2019 19:51

Thank you lovely ladies! Still feels surreal!
@Marmite83 will be thinking of you on Saturday 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

updownleftrightstart · 29/10/2019 18:24

@Anaesthetist83 16 days. Well that's just ridiculous! I think 14 is more than enough to wait.

justtheonethen · 29/10/2019 19:01

16 days post 5 day transfer is ludicrous! I got my bfp on 5dp5dt last time.

updownleftrightstart · 29/10/2019 19:04

I wish you hadn't said that @justtheonethen. That's tomorrow for me and not I'm having stupid thoughts lol

justtheonethen · 29/10/2019 19:08

@updownleftrightstart sorry! I see it as it's not going to change the answer if I test early and I have zero will power so I couldn't wait if I wanted to. You are probably stronger than me though Grin

Marmite83 · 29/10/2019 19:35

I discovered yesterday that I won't be able to test early after all as I'm doing a couple if Gonasi shots, one the day before transfer and one a few days after. Means I could get a false positive because it contains hcg. It also means I can't test on OTD myself and will have to wait for the blood test results which I'm not very happy about. I just know I'm going to be really anxious all day. I'm tempted to use cheap hpts from the day after the second shot onwards so I know when it's gone from my system but can't decide if it's a good idea or not Confused

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 29/10/2019 20:06

@marmite I would test them out but as I say I have no will power. I like to feel in control I think.
