Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

@sometimesalways that's great, get those wooly sock on and keep cosy. I was on the patches on my last FET but felt a bit off today, just wondered if they effected anyone.

I think other people don't think when it comes infertility. I met a friend last week who knows everything, all about the MCs too and she took me in a baby clothes & toys shops, I just stood at the door, she just didn't think.

Marmite83 · 24/10/2019 20:20

Well done @sometimesalways, hope your little embryo is getting nice and comfy in there.

I've not had any patches. This time I'll just be having Ovitrelle as a trigger and then Crinone and Gonasi once I've ovulated.

@LillyLeaf people can be very thoughtless sometimes, we just have to keep reminding ourselves that they don't mean to be thoughtless.

Cd10 scan tomorrow and collecting my Ovitrelle in case they want me to trigger over the weekend. Two days of blank circles so far but I've had ewcm today so may get a flashing smiley tomorrow but may still be a little early.

That's great @sometimesalways. Fingers crossed for testing day!

I had a horrendous migraine yesterday. I never really get them so I'm convinced it's the drugs and just hoping I don't get too many more of them. Transfer is tomorrow afternoon and I should probably plan an easy morning but instead I'm stupidly trying to cram in more meetings because I won't be in all afternoon

sometimesalways · 25/10/2019 09:28

Oh thank you @impatientlyinfertile @justtheonethen @Russkispy @LillyLeaf @Marmite83 @updownleftrightstart
Feeling pretty good actually. Trying to keep the positive feeling as much as I can!

I hope you are feeling a bit better today @updownleftrightstart @LillyLeaf

@Marmite83 good luck! How was opk today?

BettySwoll0cks · 25/10/2019 10:07

Thank you for the warm welcome, and good luck and chilled vibes to everybody for the weekend!

I'm starting stimming tonight, first time. I'm not in the least bit squeamish so not dreading it (thankfully). Now just trying to get my ducks in a row for school runs etc when I start the daily trips into the clinic for scans and take it from there.

@Marmite83 @LillyLeaf I'm sorry for your previous mmc's. I can't believe how blissfully ignorant I was when I was pg with DS, I will never have that again. Also terrified of those early pg scans, for the past 2 years I've received bad news every time, I've come to learn what it means when the sonographer pokes around takes an age to say anything while I fight the urge to shout "What?? What the fuck are you looking at??" as the disappointment wells up. One day I hope it'll be different. If I'm lucky enough to have anything to transfer, that is Blush Like you say, one step at a time xxx

Marmite83 · 25/10/2019 10:41

Thanks @BettySwoll0cks and good luck for the stims tonight. I got a cracking headache when I started mine last cycle so make sure you drink plenty of water today.

Opk was still a blank circle this morning @sometimesalways but I've just arrived at my clinic for my scan so hopefully everything will look good. I'm hoping for ovulation Mon/Tues so not feeling too desperate yet!

Great news @sometimesalways, must be great to have that embryo on board! Hope you're feeling good, will be keeping my fingers crossed. And for you @Russkispy!

Happy to have you in the early Nov transfer crew @orangefolly Smile. Is this your first transfer? It still feels like ages away but we're all getting a bit closer each day. I half can't wait, half dreading it.

@BettySwoll0cks You're so right about the sonographer, I cannot help but feel nervous whenever there's any sort of scan going on. I'm sorry to hear you've had bad news in the past, but you're right to take it one step at a time.

@LillyLeaf Oh dear, that was thoughtless of your friend, I hope you're feeling better today. I think those patches can make people feel quite off - there's another thread on here with some chat about feeling low on IVF drugs. Can you swap to something else?

Good luck at the scan @Marmite83, hope everything is going as it should. And massive good luck for the transfer this afternoon @updownleftrightstart! Let us know how you get on.

RTS1988 · 25/10/2019 11:56

Morning, we’re currently on 6dpt 5dt, we transferred 4CC blastocyst and a pre blastocyst. Our surrogate done a test this morning and its come with a faint line. This is a defo good sign isn’t it?

Oct/Nov IVF, ICSI & FET - Let's do this!
justtheonethen · 25/10/2019 12:53

@RTS1988 looks like it! Tentative congratulations to you.

Just been for my scan and lining is good so transfer has been booked for next Thursday - Halloween Grin

LillyLeaf · 25/10/2019 16:53

@BettySwoll0cks oh yes the dreaded Pg scans. At the last awful scan I started crying before I even got on the bed because the fear and anxiety was horrendous. I'm sure I'll be the same next time. That awful long silence when you know it's all gone wrong again but hoping they are just taking their time and everything will be fine. Yep one step at a time, I'm just focusing on my scan next week and I'll start steroids soon which makes my skin look great (silver lining👍).

@mincedpea i was on these patches last FET and I did get a bfp so would be nervous about changing them, I'm sure I'm just getting used to them.

@RTS1988 that's fantastic (this does not help me not to test early!)

@justtheonethen oooo Halloween, great day for a transfer.

Marmite83 · 25/10/2019 17:33

Looks positive to me @RTS1988, congratulations!

OP posts:
Marmite83 · 25/10/2019 17:41

My scan went well, lining looks beautiful apparently Grin. They did bloods and have since advised me not to trigger but keep doing opk twice a day as they think ovulation is imminent.

OP posts:
updownleftrightstart · 25/10/2019 18:06

Embryo successfully transferred, it defrosted and started growing again perfectly and apparently everything went great. But I have a really sore and upset stomach since transfer and I just feel a bit physically crap! This didn't happen at all last time and I was back at work feeling fine within 20 mins, so I'm trying not to take it as a bad sign.

Oooh congratulations RTS!

Glad the lining is looking great marmite!

Betty I was so blissfully unaware with DD too. I never considered something bad could/would happen and I don't think I even knew about mmcs. Then we had one and now I'm struggling to be as positive as I was after my last transfer.

sometimesalways · 25/10/2019 18:19

Oh @updownleftrightstart amazing it's all done! Welcome to the 2ww! I think feeling less than 100% after transfer can be normal - the stress alone some times is enough, let alone all the suppositories! (I had to take some, for pain I think) I was running to the loo this morning (sorry!! TMI)
It's all done now so try to relax and have some nice comfort food tonight. Good luck and fingers crossed!

@Marmite83 wonderful news about your beautiful lining yay! So it sounds like ovulation might happen sooner than expected?

Love the Halloween transfer @justtheonethen ha that will be one ace embie

And indeed tentative congrats @RTS1988

sometimesalways · 25/10/2019 18:25

Oh and yes @Russkispy I forgot to reply but YES my clinic tests 14dp5dt isn't that a bit excessive? I feel like hcg should be high enough after 10-11dpt but then again I too prefer not to test early so might just wait till then...

Marmite83 · 25/10/2019 18:28

Glad your embie's safely on board @updownleftrightstart. I had a bad tummy after transfer last time which resulted in a bfp.

It's all so glamorous isn't it @sometimesalways! Have a feeling ovulation will take longer than they think so trying not to expect it too soon.

OP posts:
updownleftrightstart · 25/10/2019 18:31

@sometimesalways thanks! Yes I don't think the suppositories help at all.

My clinic also says to test 14 days after transfer. I don't suppose your clinic is central London by any chance...?

I might have to test a little early though as we have the in laws here on OTD and I don't want to be finding out with them here.

sometimesalways · 25/10/2019 18:35

It is! @updownleftrightstart
Imagine we might have crossed paths in the corridors Wink

LillyLeaf · 25/10/2019 22:08

I think a few of us are at London clinics. We might have passed each other by now.

sometimesalways · 27/10/2019 09:07

@Marmite83 any news, how's opk going?

Hope everyone is feeling ok and the side effects have subsided a bit

All quiet here... keeping busy and waiting. Not even any symptoms yet apart from some very very mild cramps yesterday

LillyLeaf · 27/10/2019 09:17

All very boring here. I slapped on another patch this morning, that's about exciting as it gets here at the moment. Trying not to think about transfer or 2ww too much.

Hope you're all getting on ok.

lucyinthe · 27/10/2019 16:44

Hi ladies, hope you're all ok ❤️

I've just got back from one of my best friends baby showers 😭 really shouldn't have gone but thought I would be ok, I was fine until everyone gathered round to watch her open all the presents, all cooing over how cute and tiny all the clothes are. Literally wanted the ground to swallow me up and couldn't get out of there quick enough once it was over. Shouldn't have gone but didn't want questions about why I wasn't there, my other half said I should have just said I was sick. Not stopped crying since I've got home, and all he's said is well I told you you shouldn't have gone! 🤬

Anyway, start stims on weds and I'm already an emotional wreck! Not looking forward to the hormonal mood swings!

Marmite83 · 27/10/2019 17:46

Has your surrogate done another test @RTS1988, hope the line's getting stronger.

Sorry you've had a crappy day @lucyinthe, baby showers are hard. I think it's great that you were brave enough to go though. Try to go easy on yourself.

There's been progress @sometimesalways Smile. I went straight from blank circle yesterday morning to static smiley in the afternoon. Rang my consultant as advised and he said to do another opk this morning to check it was still positive which it was so I have a scan tomorrow afternoon to check the follicle had released an egg. Assuming all is ok, transfer will be on Saturday. Dh isn't too thrilled (putting it mildly) about the timing because it'll be in the morning which means he'll miss the rugby world cup final. I actually feel quite bad about it but nothing we can do. How are you doing?

OP posts:
itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 27/10/2019 19:06

@Marmite83
I think my DH must be lucky then as I've always done transfers on my own 🤣

Marmite83 · 27/10/2019 20:25

I did say I could go on my own @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted but he said he wants to be there. Maybe he'll change his mind now though...
