Hi all

I recently had a mmc from my first IVF cycle and am waiting for AF to appear (probably 3-4 weeks away) so we can do FET. I think we'll probably go for a natural cycle but am waiting for some information from my clinic to make a final decision. Had follow up consultation yesterday and will be having nurse consultation in the next couple of weeks hopefully. If anyone is happy to share their FET experiences I'd love to hear them. A little worried that a natural cycle might be the wrong choice. Anyway, if anyone fancies joining me for some support then join the thread.

Hi all. Hoping you're all feeling ok at your various stages. Very impressed with the people that don't test early, I'm a compulsive tester Grin.

Did anyone else feel like utter crap on progynova? I'm headachy/tired/grumpy/bloated and ridiculously farty Blush.

Russkispy · 23/10/2019 13:37

@LillyLeaf nothing to report. Nada! My clinic always said 9dp5dt but half thinking to test at 11dp5dt as it was the same timing with my own IVF in April and it was such a strong line then! Sadly ended in a MMC.
Will just wait and see how I feel comes Monday morning. I'm saintly patient so it doesn't really matter when I test Smile

sometimesalways · 23/10/2019 13:37

Are you on any progesterone suppositories by any chance @justtheonethen ? I have similar symptoms from cyclogest, which is progesterone (its deffo that cause I am not taking progy). Very very annoying (and at times embarrassing Confused)
I feel your pain!

justtheonethen · 23/10/2019 13:40

@sometimesalways not on them yet, I know that they give me the same symptoms so I'm not looking forward to that ramping up Shock

sometimesalways · 23/10/2019 14:06

@justtheonethen uh oh
At least it's for a good cause!

And as if medication side effects are not enough, DS has caught a bug and has been ill for a couple of days and up during the night, I am exhausted! DH will be on duty tonight so I can try and catch some sleep ahead of ET tomorrow eeeek

sometimesalways · 23/10/2019 17:10

Actually I have been thinking about my last post, I hope I have not upset anyone... i am sorry if I did! I didn't mean to be insensitive, posting what might appear like a complain about children in an infertility thread... My need to whinge and tiredness got the better of me. I am obviously incredibly lucky to have DS.

mincedpea · 23/10/2019 17:40

Hello all, I've been away to have a little distraction from all the IVF stuff. Looks like lots has been happening.

Welcome to the new folks on the board, glad to have you here (well, "glad"...you know what I mean).

Firstly, so sorry to hear about the CP @Maggie9000. That's really tough, I hope you're ok.

Like a few of you (@Marmite83 I think?), AF has arrived for me so we can finally get going. Had my baseline scan today and lining is nice and thin. Got a second scan on CD10 next Thursday, and so long as it is thick enough, they will trigger me then. FET is scheduled for 7 days after that (7th Nov). Anyone else transferring around then? Time to start finding yet more excuses to not be in the office!

@sometimesalways Don't worry about it, everyone needs to rant now and then, and it's nice of you to do that followup post.

Hope all those who are counting down post-transfer are managing the 2ww OK!

@Betsyboo87, congratulations, gives us all a bit of hope! Hope it's all going well.

Does anyone else listen to the BFN podcast? I just noticed there was a new episode, perhaps not to everyone's taste, but worth listening to for some light at the end of the tunnel.

justtheonethen · 23/10/2019 20:06

@sometimesalways not at all! We can be infertile and have our children drive us mad, mine certainly does BlushGrin

Marmite83 · 23/10/2019 20:45

Welcome @lucyinthe @JoJoTheresNoLimit @impatientlyinfertile.

Sorry to read about your losses @Bettysw0llocks, I've had a couple of mmcs and it definitely makes me feel more anxious but I keep telling myself that to get where we want we just have to keep trying. Don't know what I'd do without the support on these threads!

I think I'll be a few days ahead of you @mincedpea. I'm currently cd8. I've never heard of the @BFN podcast.

@sometimesalways cyclogest suppositories last cycle had me constantly checking where the nearest loo was. Not fun! The things we do! I'm sure no-one was upset by your post. I have a dd and she can be bloomin hard work. It's important to vent during this process no matter what you're venting about.

Speaking of venting. I told a friend about the mmc at the weekend. She knows about the previous one too and that we've been trying for a long time (as we did for dd too) but not about IVF. I'd just been saying to her that I wasn't sure we'd ever manage to have another baby. Then we went upstairs to where my dd was playing with one of her ds and she decided to say to her 'maybe one day if you have a little brother or sister you can have bunk beds too'. What made her think that was a good thing to say!? My daughter looked really sad and said 'but I don't have a brother or sister' it completely broke me on the inside. I know she didn't mean to say the wrong thing but I can't help bit be a little frustrated with her. Sorry, vent over.

Not that he's driving you mad, you know what I mean Blush

justtheonethen · 23/10/2019 20:47

@Marmite83 oh that's a stupid thing to say, I would have been really upset/annoyed Sad

sometimesalways · 23/10/2019 21:00

@justtheonethen he does drive me mad! and I adore him for it Smile

Thank you for understanding! All of you. What would I do without MN. Venting IS important.

And @Marmite83 I totally get it. One of our nursery teachers asked me when I am going to give DS a little brother or sister a few months ago. I. didn't know what to say, in fact I cannot remember what I said! She meant well and they are lovely with DS but I mean ConfusedConfused

LillyLeaf · 23/10/2019 21:50

@mincedpea I think I'll be transferring around that time too. Still feels like ages away. I used to listen to BFN but it was getting a bit too depressing as both their dates were the same as mine. If I ever get Pg I'll go back and pick up from where I left, because I did really enjoy listening to them.

Russkispy · 23/10/2019 23:15

@sometimesalways good luck for tomorrow! Will be thinking of you! Smile

mincedpea · 24/10/2019 08:32

@Marmite83 Sounds like you're about 3/4 days ahead of me, hope it's all going well. When do you start any meds? Totally sympathise with your frustration at your friend's comment, I'm sure she just had a thoughtless moment but it still hurts.

@LillyLeaf Great to also have you as a transfer buddy! I have started to think of it as a 4ww, but I'm glad to at least be getting on with things. Agree on BFN getting pretty depressing at times, and I'm sure it's worse when the dates line up. That said, I did really enjoy a lot of the interviews they did, and learnt a lot about infertility, coping strategies, other people's stories etc. from it. I do think some episodes are easier to listen to than others though, and that recent one is really only if you're ready for it.

@sometimesalways Good luck for today! 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

justtheonethen · 24/10/2019 08:36

@sometimesalways good luck for today Thanks

Marmite83 · 24/10/2019 09:42

Good luck @sometimesalways, hope you get a chance to relax a little afterwards!

Oh thank you! Smile @Marmite83 @justtheonethen @mincedpea @Russkispy

Did my acupuncture, drunk bucketloads of water, am in good mood, let's see! Going there now

orangefolly · 24/10/2019 14:42

Hi guys, I'm back after a long silence! It just felt like such a long time to get to the start of the cycle I had to pretend it wasn't happening! Not helped by AF being a week late Angry Just catching up now on progress. In for my baseline scan today, cd4, so I might be a similar time for FET as you @mincedpea and @lillyleaf Fingers crossed as long as everything is fine!

LillyLeaf · 24/10/2019 18:11

@orangefolly that's fab, more the merrier. I very nearly did the wrong dose of my Buserelin last night, I was meant to reduce it to 0.2 but pulled up 0.5 (as I have been doing for weeks), stuck it in and then thought oh crap, so lucky I hadn't injected yet, so close. Must remember 0.2 tonight! Anyone on Everol patches?

sometimesalways · 24/10/2019 19:01

ΕT done! Embryo safely on board. Test day 7th Nov.
Who's next? Smile

@LillyLeaf I was on evorel on my previous cycle. Didn't bother me at all, but they do seem impossible to cleanup properly after, the glue sticks around forever

impatientlyinfertile · 24/10/2019 19:05

@Marmite83 that's the worst thing to say my ds has started naming toys sister or brother as four of his friends we see the most has siblings last year it's heart breaking I'd be so annoyed if anyone who knew said maybe you'll get a real one soon 😑
I'm on day 3 of stims and have an awful headache. I've drank 3L of water and it's not budging really don't want to take paracetamol but am I just being stupid by not? C

impatientlyinfertile · 24/10/2019 19:06

Ahhh amazing @sometimesalways !!! How you feeling? X

justtheonethen · 24/10/2019 19:20

@impatientlyinfertile definitely take paracetamol. Won't do anything other than help your pain! The stims head was awful for me.

@sometimesalways yay!

Russkispy · 24/10/2019 19:37

@sometimesalways well done! Hope you're feeling ok! So that's 13dp5dt?!
I'm half thinking to test 11dp5dt. See how I feel on Monday morning !
